HERE'S AN EMAIL I SENT TO THIS COMPANY - DON'T TOUCH THEM!!
Dear Sirs
I refer to our various telephone conversations regarding our vehicle, a Vauxhall Corsa, which we had advertised in and on Autotrader.
It is clear that you obtained my telephone number from that advertisement when you called me, saying that you had 3 buyers on your books who were looking for a car such as ours, two potential buyers who would require finance (from you), and the third, a cash buyer.
We were led to believe that we would be contacted by these “buyers”, and should a sale ensue, then we would receive a full refund of the £99.99 we seemingly foolishly paid you, should the ultimate buyer use your credit facilities, or simply be charged that fee in the event of the buyer being the cash buyer.
Despite my telephoning you again last week no buyers have contacted me.
In conclusion, I feel that there were no buyers, and I have been persuaded to pay £99.99 under false promise, merely to be included in your database of vehicles for sale, which is not what I was led to believe was the case.
I therefore consider a full refund would be the most appropriate outcome to this, and look forward to hearing from you, and to receiving a refund within the next few days.
Please make the refund via PayPal using my email address.
NEEDLESS TO SAY - NO REFUND. I'VE NOW PASSED THIS OVER TO TRADING STANDARDS.
I recently placed an ad on Autotrader to sell my car. However, within minutes of placing the ad, I received a call from Vehicle Credit Services, who claimed to have a customer who wanted to buy exactly that car. This sounded pretty good, particularly by the fact that I wanted a quick sale. I was then given a very nice sales talk, in which I was told that the buyer could be around my house within the next hour with cash to buy the car!! But wait for it... I was told that I need to pay £99.99 to register first, but will get the cash back within 7 days... guaranteed. However, I refused to make a payment just like that, so I agreed to think about it and call the company back.
A few minutes later, I decided to call the company back to get more info about who they are. But as expected, the phone simply rang out. I made several calls, but with no success. Within 30mins, the sales guy called me back asking for my credit card details, for which I refused to give. When I asked him how he got my details, he claimed that they partner with Autotrader. To my knowledge, Autotrader does not have any such association with third-party companies.
To cut a long story short, if you want to save some money, stay well clear of this outfit. Although the company is called “Vehicle Credit Services”, they do not have any means to offer credit. Please stay away from this company and spread the word...
