I first rang the kwik fit lodge road branch on Thursday 6th January and requested a quote for replacement and fitting of rear brake pads for a peugeot 206 after it was recommended by another garage that I have these replaced. After providing my registration number I was quoted £72.00 for replacement brake shoes on the insistence of the gentleman that I spoke to that my peugeot 206 needed brake shoes and pads. I booked my car in and took it the evening of the 6th. When I arrived and upon further inspection, the same man then informed me that I was correct and my peugeot did indeed need brake pads and the quote was therefore increased to £83.99. I then completed a brake inspection form and detailed the symptoms of grinding rear brakes. When the gentleman read the sympotoms he informed me that it was highly likely that I would need brake discs which would increase the cost to £199.00. I asked that when he took my brakes apart on the Friday he would ring me if it was anything more than the rear brake pads that needed replacing. I then received a telephone call from Kwik Fit on Friday 7th January advising me that my front brake pads and discs, my rear brake pads and discs, my front side passenger tyre and a part of my suspension needed replacing totalling £545.00 minus the suspension part. I was extremely shocked and distraught at the prospect of paying £545.00 to repair my car, possibly even more if the suspension part could be sourced. I then rang Mr Clutch who informed me that they could replace all brake pads and discs for £285.00. The kwik fit quote was then reduced to £400.00 to just replace the brake pads and discs. I then grew suspicious regarding the work required and the price due to the sudden drop in price from £545.00 to £400.00. I decided to take my car elsewhere and when I called Kwik Fit I was rudely told to come and collect my car as soon as possible. I collected my card on 6th Jan and was rudely asked to sign a note at the bottom of the brake report advising that in the opinion of the mechanic my car was dangerous to drive due to worn brakes and missing suspension part. I then took my car to ATS, I was promptly informed that there was nothing wrong with my brakes, tyre or suspension. I had 4mm of tread left of my tyre and more than 12 months of wear left on my brakes. My car has a sports suspension and therefore the 'missing part' was not missing. As I had already contacted an independent mechanic in Shropshire and ordered the parts for fitting, minus the suspension, I then drove 170 miles and had all my brake pads and front passenger tyre replaced for £160.00. To say that I am extremely annoyed and distressed by the service and lies I was told my the gentleman at Kiwk Fit, is a mild description. I cannot believe that you have people such as this working for you. The man that dealt with me on EVERRY occasion was called Kevin and I did not feel comfortable or respected in the slightest. I am 23 years old and will never, ever use Kwik Fit again. You have lost a life long customer. In addition to this, I wil be reporting Kwik Fit to trading standards and will be sure to tell anybody who is even contemplating making a visit to Kwik Fit of the truly horrific experience I had.

Newry Kwik fit manager gave me a total amount for an exhaust after i made an enquiry. I booked car in and after exhaust back box was fitted i went to pay and i asked them about a 15 percent discount which i had printed off their site. newry refused to take the discount off saying i already had one.
yet i had telephoned the garage before i went and they said i was ok
i also watched a mechanic swing off the middle part of my middle exhaust.

I would like to express my gratitude to the guys at Kwik fit in Berwick Upon Tweed. I was on holiday during October 2009 and got a flat tyre when I swerved to avoid a huge truck that took over part of my lane on a very narrow country road. I changed the tyre and immediately drove to Kwik fit (this was the nearest tyre place - even although it was 16 miles away). When they put the car up on the ramps they discovered an air bubble on the other tyre (same side) which could have been very dangerous had I continued to drive on it (nb. my son and mother were also in the car with me).

These were alloy wheels so they asked for the key for the locking nuts, however unbeknown to me I dropped this when changing the tyre 16 miles up the road. One chap in particular not only offered to drive me back to this area but also phoned several of his contacts (Vauxhall owners) to see if their key would work. Unfortunately despite going back to the site where I changed the tyre, we could not locate the key - I think it fell down a nearby drain! On the route back to the garage, this guy even went into the local Halfords and tried to negotiate (in vain) the loan of a key!

Upon our return, keyless and with my car still up on the ramps, the time was now long after 5pm, one of the guys suggested knocking out the locking nuts. This was not easy and there was a risk that the alloys would be damaged. However, I was so pleased that they took the time to do this. With hardly a scratch on the alloys and with 2 new safely fitted tyres I was able to continue with my holiday. Thanks guys, you saved the day!
(oh and I had to get the other 2 locking nuts welded off!)
