Comments:

I now feel the need to write about this organisation.
I have in the past ordered from Gardenbargains.com via Ideal World but I decided to go direct to their website, as I have experienced problems with them in the past, to see what more they had to offer.
That was my first mistake.
I have since discovered Ideal Shopping bought Lead the Good Life - Gardenbargains in 2009 and so Gardenbargains.com are now owned & controlled by them.
My second mistake, I placed 2 orders.
A pair of Easy Fill Baskets & 1 Victoria Plum Tree and the 3 Rhubarb plant collection.
The order dates were 14 & 21 April 2010, the expected delivery time is well overdue and not acceptable. I have since been told by their Customer Service people in India that there is a problem with stock levels of the Baskets - they don’t have any - yet they continue to sell them on Ideal World with no warning to customers with regards to this which is not only misleading but dishonest.
I have spent nearly as much on calls to their Customer Service people in India @ 10p per minute, some calls lasting up to 20 minutes after being kept on hold, which is more than the outstanding goods are worth, in order to ascertain the state of my orders. Then I resorted to e-mail or in their case with replies, Snail-mail.
I have received the poor specimen of a Plum Tree. Nothing like the ones they boast about on Ideal World and their Website. I doubt this tree will ever produce plums, at least not in the next 3-4 years, should I manage to help it survive. The tree came with an invoice for the Rhubarb which was not delivered and I am still waiting for their Customer Services to tell me where it is. They probably don’t have this in stock either. They seem to be experts at talking the talk, taking orders and customer’s money and sadly that is where it ends.
I have been contacted by their Customer Services, reading from written quotes designed to appease disgruntled customers with the obligatory apologies although well meant are meaningless, to let me know that the Baskets will be with me at the beginning of June - two months wait. At this rate summer will be over.
To add insult I have been offered a £5 voucher off my next order. After this experience I am amazed they think I would ever place an order with them again, but they know this so no loss on their side.
I have resigned myself to the fact that I have lost my money and doubt I shall ever see the items that are outstanding; If I do that will be a bonus.
I now feel it my goal and mission to let the public know of my shopping experience with Gardenbargains.com.
Firstly, I have begun this by talking to all my gardening friends & enthusiasts.
Secondly, I am posting this Blag and I will encourage anyone to do the same should they have had a bad experience with either company.
In this economic climate money is tight and yes, people are looking for ’bargains’ but sadly although they use this word in their web title it appears to be false & misleading.
I am not expecting a reply from them and therefore will not experience another disappointment from Gardenbargains.com, but I would like to hear their views all the same.
I still live in hope.
