London based gun dealer we have been a client of countryside software for over a year, using the RFD solution, we have never had any issues with it and found it to be both reliable and with excellent backup from the company, we have already ordered the epos system to go with the RFD for next year after speaking to several other countryside customers regarding the product, they even offered me the chance to hold back some payments until I was 100% happy with the epos when doing the deal, a company with software issues would not do this if they did not have confidence in there products. This is not a company to avoid but to embrace as they are good for the trade, worringly im not sure they want to stay in it, i hope so.
I have two equestrian stores in yorkshire and had previously installed another epos product before contacting countryside software as a reference from their other customer, I have read the comments on here and thought I would post my feelings, they have upgraded me to their new epos (released this year i think) and it has worked brilliantly the on site training is excellent and the backup service aswell, I have also ordered the e-commerce site from them and this is going live, the negatives must be old customers as my system is spot on, the system is easily the most modern I have seen.
I am a dealer in the North East I have the epos and the rfd both systems are excellent, the staff are really helpfull and go out their way to make sure I'm happy, I had a good look round before I bought from them but couldnt find anything better I think there are some sour grapes out there.
I have been reading the negative blaggers regarding countryside software, we use their support system regularily and i can assure you they are still going strong. We are one of the largest shooting ranges in the us and use the rfd, epos and gunseeker software, we are a recent customer so have the latest software we looked at all over options and found countryside to be by far the best and have been proved right we are not waiting on anything everything has been delivered and it is a modern system with excellent funtionality, after reading this i had to post something positive
We're not sure if this cowboy outfit are still around as their website went recently to a holding page and now that has disappeared (July 2010) It would not surprise us if they have as well.
You will be told that their software will do everything you need and more but only when you end up with it, you find that things will be ready soon or will be released in the next update etc etc. Then keep waiting and try getting some action done. You will be wasting your time being palmed off with excuse after excuse and lies. If you don't know your software basically their system is really dated, overly complicated and very unfriendly to use. There are much better systems from other companies available so don't waste your time money and business with them. Like we did. We were not surprised to see comments from others on here. Just surprised there are not many more.
If you listen to the sales schpiel, they promise you the earth. Whatever your heart's desire, this product and company will deliver. It cost me £25,000 to buy the system and software, and I've had nothing but grief, unfulfilled promises, lies and a total lack of support for the product. It's a shame, because if the product was sold correctly, supported properly, and the lies stopped, it might actually be rather good. As for buying it - don't waste your money.
Just installed Countryside epos, our third attempt at epos and i have to say both the product and service have been, excellent, we own an equestrian business in yorkshire. Highly recommended
We would advise not to use this company they install supply EPOS systems mainly for Gun Dealers Registered Firearms Dealers RFD's. Do not use they come as they please, do not have products in stock, cannot supply what the agreed price is very un-professional company. Charge £5,000 for something that you can buy for £800!!!
