Comments:

A charming cafe/deli in Easingwold, which offers a variety of deli produce and snacks etc in the cafe area. I met a friend at Tea Hee and was sitting in the area where there is an area near to the preparation/washing up area. We placed our order for two teas and waited for ten minutes at which point I politely reminded one of the ladies. Unfortunately, she scowled and said "they're on their way". It was 2.15 and the lunch rush was over and apart from an elderly couple sitting opposite there was a young mother and her daughter, but they had already been served. The noise generated from the preparation/washing up area was quite awful; one lady was placing crockery into the basin and "slamming" it onto the drainer. The noise was so dreadful that my frend and I covered our ears, as did the elderly couple. After 15 minutes my friend and I left, whilst I had the beginnigs of a headache (yes, it really was that bad). As I was paying, I suggested to the lady that the noise level be reduced since it had given me a headache. I didn't have an opportuntiy to explain anything further since she then that the cafe had been there for some five years, that customers actually liked the noise?!, and that we could always go next door. The lady in question was extremely rude, abrupt and clearly didn't understand the impact of the noise on customers. I actually spoke with the owner of Tee Hee earlier today and she said she hadn't received my email that I sent following our visit. It is a charming cafe/deli but the level of noise from the preparation/washing up area is quite appalling.
