This charity failed to collect my donations as well. They made an appointment and then never showed.
When I phoned to find out what was going on, the went straight to answer phone.
Rotherham Furniture Plus are a Social and environmental enterprise that collect donated furniture and household goods... Only they don't turn up!!!
I was really happy to find out there are companies who recycle furniture and sell it on to people who can make use of it.
When my partner and I bought our new bed, we had to find a way to get rid of our old mattress. There wasn't anything wrong with it, pocket sprung King Size in good working order, only it didn't fit our new bed frame.
We called Rotherham Council and they said it would take 10 days to collect the mattress, but had we thought about donating it to a charity? The lady at the council gave us two numbers one for Furniture Plus and the other for British Heart Foundation.
I called Furniture Plus first and agreed a collection date and time (08:30 - 12:30). On the day, I called to get an idea of what the collection time would be, the lady I spoke with made an excuse about how somebody else had taken my details and agreed to the collection and now they where a driver down so the collection would be after 1:30pm, sometime in the afternoon.
She offered me a call to let me know a fairer idea of collection time, however nobody turned-up!!!
I called to find out if everything was OK and the driver hadn't put his back out as he was the only one clearing an old persons home that day. The lady who answered put me on to the driver who lied in telling me that he'd called at our house and put a note through the door.
No call, no knock and no note, he then walked away from the phone, and the lady hung-up!!!
Gee what a way to be treated, you make an offer in good faith and this is how you get treated.
This is a business that is registered as a charity, don't be fooled, they make plenty of money from the goods they sell. Do not bother in wasting your time, call someone like British Heart Foundation. They asked for 'Gift Aid' they agreed a time and came to collect, all like they said they would. I'd try them and never again waste my efforts with Furniture Plus Rotherham!!!
