i bought a brand new car from them on the 22nd of june 2010 namely a vauxhall insignia vxr turbo.
they called me around forty times in one day to see if i had transferred the amount of £25000 into their account for the purchase!
i collected the car that evening and within 4 miles of driving the car a warning set of lamps appeared on the dash in red illumination.
it said "tyre pressure warning"
i arrived home after crawling at low speeds around 13 miles and my wife and kids camed out to see the new car.to my horror my wife pointed out that there was a dent on th rear bumper and there was a chunk of paint out the drivers side rear wheel arch.
i was extremely annoyed firstly that there was a fault with the mechanics of the car and secondly with the paint defects as well, this was a new car!
i called arnold clark and advised them of these issues and they said that they would take it away to rectify the faults and the salesman stated that he personally checked the tyre pressures and valeted the car,not a technician carrying out the pdi?!
i now had the measure of arnold clark and there inability to deal with issues.
i was then told that they were going to take the car to their bodshop in kirkintilloch to fit a new rear bumper and respray the back wing of the car.
this took them four days and eventrually the car was delivered back to me.
when i left my office that evening arounf three miles had been driven when the warning light on the dash appeared again "tyre pressure warning"!
i called arnold clark and went berserk at them for not rectifying this fault with the car.they said that they did not have the special computer to solve the problem and there was only "1" of them in europe?
i then decided to call vauxhall direct and asked if this was the case and as you can imagine they ridiculed the comment made by service dept and management at arnold clark garscube road!
then the final straw with the car arrived.
by this point arnold clark staff had covered 75 miles in my new car and i had covered 48 miles bringing a total of 123 miles on the clock.
i was about to leave my office on the friday night after just receiving my car back from arnold clark when to my disgust another warning lamp appeared on the dash "electonic parking brake"in orange.i contacted arnold clark and they were completely speechless but laterly shrugged it off and said it was just a little computer error.
i proceeded to drive the car home and within 15 minutes the light flickered and went off.
i then left the car at my house until the monday morning
i was about to leave for my office on the monday morning turned on my car and not surprisingly the electronic parking brake fault appeared again.
i had to get to myt office for a meeting so decided just to drive the car and five minutes later the light flickered and went out.
i was on the start of the motorway and suddenly without warning the car spun 45 degrees to the right from the rear with smoke belching out the back end.within seconds i brought the car under control and pulled over to the hard shoulder.
i was completely in shock, shaking and distraught!
i phoned vauxhall immediately and advised them of this horror situation that occured and told then i want the car uplifted immediately
at this point i decided i must try and limp to my showroom as i had a very important meeting.
the car was collected from my office later that morning and taken back to arnold clark in garscube road.
the salesman frove the car off the recovery lorry and was told to leave it in the arnold clark compound.
he called me and said that he could see the warning lamp on the dash nut was told to say nothing!?
at this stage now i had driven the car a total of 48 miles from new in 10 days
at this point i send a letter to arnold clark customer services and to the genereal manager of arnold clark garscube road voicing my concerns and disgust to their communication and product.
i rejected the car and asked for either a brand new car or a full refund!
now "5 weeks"down the line,400 calls to customer services and the general manager at arnold clark the car has been lying in their compound and they have lied to me permanently!
i have driven the car twice since i bought it brand new 5 weeks ago and i called them last night to say that i am coming to take the car away so that i can take expert advice and to my horror they said that the car was not their anymore!!!?
i went crazy with peter vale and he was laughing about it and trying to torment me
i advised him that i was now reporting the matter to the police as the car had been stolen
i called the control centre at pitt street in glasgow and lodged the issue at the control room
they have kindly investigated the matter and have informed me that the car was not on the stolen car register.
can anyone assist me with this horrendous matter and turn of events
i am heading to arnold clark in garscube road first thing this morning and something is going to happen!!
i await your suggestions
