One of the worse customer services. Very rude staff and on top of all .. They lie on anything and everything instantly and try to rip you off your money...
My wife was a member of this club for 5-6 months then she tried cancelling her membership because of the health issue and she need to travel out of country as well. The Lady on the counter forced her not to cancel the membership and filled a freeze form by herself for my wife and got it signed with the assurance that if she will not turn up and change her decision in next 5 days then that lady will cancel my wife membership by herself.
After couple of months we started receiving letter from Virgin active to clear the dues for the later month ( my was undergoing treatment that time).we then went back to the gym and produced that in front of the person standing on the counter. He checked something and told us that we shouldn't be bothering about this and we will never receive these kind of letters again from them.
When we came back from holiday, to our surprise we found couple of more letter from Virgin Active asking for more money (initial for could of more months passed in between). When we went to the gym .. the gym manager was clueless about. Somehow we got hold of the lady who forcefully filled the freeze form for my wife and told her the whole situation ... she instantly backed off and was in total denial that she ever said something like that ... we had a chat with manager and ask her why at the first place we were not told to settle the account and your guy told us "to go home and relax , we will never receive these kind of letter again", she asked her any kind of proof of this conversation as that guy didn't provide any kind of acknowledgement when we brought the first letter to VA office. This is the reason they are asking for letter month's fee as well!!!!!
We asked them to check in their CCTV recording that we came in when we received the first letter. BUT SHE REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT AS WELL by saying that non of our staff can say that...
Now they are asking us money for that time my wife didn't use the gym service and for the passed month as they blaming us that we never came to them....
Rude staff ... bad place to be ... will try some other nearby gym rather than joining an expensive gym who's staff just want to rip money from you anyhow ...
Little piece of advice:
1. STAY AWAY FROM VIRGIN ACTIVE.. please don’t join …
2. If you are already struck up with them.. Then please RECORD each and every conversation with them.. because after some time they will say “this is not possible, we never said that” on everything …
1)If you don't pay the membership they send there Awful company ARC Europe on to you and Be careful with this company they make physical and fictional Threats
2) Make sure the membership cancelled or freeze properly
If not they send it to ARC
3)Do make sure that you get knowledgement letter from the Gym
Get Independent advise from CAB or Solictor before you make any agreements and never pay ARC pay direct to the club as they use mobiles not landlines or if you anyway means to record the conversation do which its good to use for evidence.
