Had a call from this company who said they could get my website to come up in front of others on google.
When paid got terms and conditions etc and then they wanted access to my website which they had "forgotten" to tell me they would need to do this which I would not give them and said I was cancelling which they would not do as out of time limit.
They sent me code for my hosting company to do but this is just so I can log in to see how many visite the site has had, nothing to do with optimising the site.
These people should be avoided like the plague, there may be some good companies out there who can do what they say but these people do not seem to be one of them from my experience.
Unitel Direct are not very nice people.
A good friend was having trouble with her website and when I looked at it there was serious problems with work done by Unitel.
It took me less than an hour to correct and add the correct keywords as the seo was very badly done.
The big issue is that she paid almost £2k for what is less than an hours work on a very simple website.
They don't like customers cancelling at all.
The bill dropped from £2k to £500m when we asked to cancel. They also dropped the £300 bill for a .co.uk domain to £10 per year.
Simon was very aggresive on the phone, telling lots of lies. He claimed they had done alot of work on the site recently but he got very annoyed when I questioned how they accessed the site when they have no id or password.
Eventually they agreed to cancel & said they would undo the work previously paid for.
I have had a very bad experience with this company. I have had independant SEO firms look at my site and have discovered they have done nothing. Anything they have done has been to the detriment of my listing. This is not a "sour milk" blog but a truthful account.

My business seemed to take off and on the following year I was approached by them for renewal but it would be better for me if I went on their directory. Following their advice I went with it and sales plummeted. Last year I told them I wanted of the directory and was informed that everything was done as I requested and they would make sure I was on the first page of google. My sales were pathetic but believing they had done work on it I persevered. This year they rang me saying my account was up for renewal and they needed payment. I paid expecting things to change. Then they come back and inform me that was for the directory and they needed payment for to get me listed on the first page of Google. I was horrified and the two persons I dealt with Kim and the accounts manager were extremely nasty. They informed me that Kim had explained it to me (she didn't) David had listened into the call and as soon as Kim put the phone down he was on demanding payment or else. Under duress I paid this (by the way I had to borrow as I had no money left) only to discover a week later this was for the directory I didn't want! I asked to be taken off the directory because if no-one knows about it as they don't, how was I ever going to get listings. I wanted the payment transferred to the other account for to be on the first page of Google. This couldn't be done they said. Darren then came to me as I refused to talk anymore with these cowboys and give him his due tried to be helpful. He offered me the first page of google for £120. Unfortunately I had to refuse because I don't have the money after already borrowing to pay the last bill. I went to a few other SEO companies and told them my story and they immeidiately went to examine the website. Each one flagged up the same problems which proves to me and everyone else the work had never been done. They told me the keywords that I asked to be removed are still there despite being told by these cowboys that they had already removed them. Altogether they have taken my money, ruined my business and I am now going to pursue them with Trade and Standards as they have not provided the service they had promised.
If you have any sense take nothing to do with them. They approached me via cold calling and this should be a warning sign. I have learned by mistake.

If your a business avoid this company, they only accept payment over the phone by card and they retain your card details so they can then debit what they deem fit. to top it all after you paid for the year and you have seen nothing happen to your site, the ranking or extra business they threaten court action if you dont renew! Luckily I change my bank card and internet passwords every 3 months otherwise I dread to think what they would have done.
They are demanding passwords to my site today to remove the work I paid £500 for a year ago!! If I dont give them they are threatening to send me to a Debt collection agency!!

Bad experience with Unitel Direct. I had my domain name before I went to this hosting company. I allowed them to use it for the website they created for me and now that I wish to leave them they claim this is now their domain name and I have to pay £150 to buy it back!
dont use this company after six months I was on 1st page of google but only with one of my keywords, wouldnt give me a refund as they said they had fulfilled there promise with just one keyword why did they bother about all the other ones? not even listed on there site as promised.

Do not use this company (both are the same) they don't keep promises, are murder to deal with and have the customer service skills and SEO skills of a dead monkey.
First they come on claiming to be Google ("Hi, we're from Google") and then they went in to complete hard sell mode promising the earth. I did ask for the numbers of their customers and they raved about them.
I reckon this was a setup as I paid over £1000 for 14 keywords and was promised that we would be on page 1 of Google within the month for both UK and the whole of Europe.
A month went by and they still hadn't asked for login details. When they finally did, it took them another two months before I started to see any changes on the site.
Then our site went down due to their lack of care and skill and I had to take the entire site from backup to return it to working order. Then, after some other changes they made, some of the pages stopped displaying correctly. Again I had to repair the damamge.
As for our location on Google - only four of our keywords are on page one. What about the rest of them? Who knows. They have been asked again and again to provide a rank report; promised each time; delivered never.
I am just sick to death of them and have asked for my money back. Their reply was that they have fulfilled their contractural obligations and will not return the money. They also said that I have no recourse to claim the money back as business to business selling does not come under consumer rights.
The fact they mentioned this in the first email in response to my complaints says to me that they have no intention whatsoever to address my complaints nor give any compensation to cover my costs of putting things right.
My advice is - stay away from them and all of their services.
If, however, for some strange reason, you do still want to do business with them - make sure that you read in full and agree to their dreadful terms and conditions.

i was contacted by this company recently to be told the current company i am with has gone out of business. however they then continued to say that they are taking over all of the ex - vertigo site solutions customers as if it was there official job. i was since told by another more reputable company that this is not the case and that they were lying. it was up to me who would take over the marketing of my site. they were very pushy on the phone and the salesmen used scare tactics such as "your site will lose all the work vertigo has done unless you do it today." they were trying to make a fast buck like the cash cow they are. £150 quid for 12 months on google they said !! imo. that is nowhere near enough. considering i paid 400 to vertigo and was already on the first page of google.
