My experiences are almost exactly the same as others. Vistec owe me over 1000 pounds and despite a ccj and visits by bailiffs I still have not received anything. I will however continue to pursue them. Does anyone want to join in?
Re. other comments relating to Vistec. Be warned do not entertain this company. I paid a deposit and within 5 days changed my mind but despite promises I have not received the return of said deposit This was in Aug and now I am unable to speak to anyone, perhaps they have ceased trading.
I was cold called on 12th November by an individual enquiring if I knew what an ‘Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) as advised by the Energy Advisory Agency was’. He did not offer his company name. Surprised that I knew about EPCs he went on to suggest that I could obtain a free certificate via a government grant scheme. He had still not named his company.
After being asked a couple of times the caller did tell me that he was calling from Vistec Energy and his telephone number was 01772 253 892 (the number written on his handset).
I challenged the fact that he had called a number registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and asked to speak to his supervisor. I was then handed over to ‘H’ who apologised and offered to remove my details from their lists. When asked how they had obtained my number ‘H’ said that “numbers were collated from a number of sources”.
Once the call was finished I conducted a ‘1471’ check and found that the call had in fact come from 01772 558 624 i.e. not the number the caller had given me. I ran an Internet search, including Companies House Webcheck, for ‘Vistec Energy’ but was unable to corroborate that it existed other than a possible website for a Preston based company at http://www.vistecltd.co.uk/. I knew Preston’s area code to be 01772.
I called the 01772 558 624 number identified by 1471 and reached an individual who did not identify her company by name and struggled to understand why a ‘H’ would have called me from that number. I was handed onto a male who, after some pressing, identified himself as ‘G’.
‘G’ only wanted to tell me that I had reached the reception for a large organisation but after some pressing did tell me that Vistec Energy was a trading name for Rainseal Ltd and their registered address was 1A Arcade House, Finchley Road, London, NW11 7TL. Rainseal does appear at the footer of the webpage at http://www.vistecltd.co.uk/ as “Rainseal Ltd. Co Reg. No. 6943383 is an authorised GP Contracts licensee”. Companies House however shows the registered address to be Unit 6, Lidun Park, Boundary Road, Lytham, Lancs, FY8 5HU. I have been unable to confirm what the phrase ‘authorised GP Contracts Licensee’ means.
I believe that Vistec Energy is acting unethically in cold calling TPS listed numbers and their attempt to “arrange an appointment for an advisor” is merely a ruse to get a salesperson into your home.
Here is the justification for my view:-
All of the individuals I spoke to failed to identify their company name until pressed hard and even then gave misleading / inaccurate information.
The area code 01772 is for Preston, Lancashire.
Internet searches around Vistec and Preston found several references all linked to the same address at Preston Technology (Management) Centre

The EPCs are mentioned on Vistec’s website at http://www.vistecltd.co.uk/EPC.php as “Vistec will provide a full EPC free of charge with every completed contract.” I think that this is the clincher!!!! Why would you need a contract for something that is going to be provided for free?

I will register a complaint via TPS via http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ and will also explore the Data Protection route via:- http://www.ico.gov.uk/.
My 90 year old mother was sold a double glazing treatment in her home by a rep for £900 for 3 windows which would somehow reduce her heating and lighting costs by 10%...despite there being 9 windows in the property.
When I queried this and asked for a refund of her deposit (they didnt mention any cooling off period)
three months later and they still ignore letters and phone calls asking for a refund.
