This company is a joke and should b band from trading. I had a sales Rep in my house from this company and I really wish I would have seen these comments first. The rep was very pushy and would not leave untill I had placed an order. The said if I had a bored up they would bring the price down!!! It started at £16400 and if I sign on the day it would be £9000. Then the best is still to come...... If I have a bored up for another 2weeks they will do the kitchen at £5000. I have also found out that this company are actually SPACE KITCHENS. If you look on the space kitchens we page the head office details are the same as Christies kitchens.
The company then rang me 3days later and offered the kitchen to me at £3750
I have nothing but great things to say about Christies Kitchens. The whole job from start to finish has been A1. The fitter was fantastic and went out of his was to go the extra mile for us, he even worked on a Sunday to make sure the job would be completed before we went on holiday. We are delighted and we are more than happy to promote Christies to anyone in our local area. I have even offered my home to them as a show
home for two visits, that’s how delighted we are. The designer was fantastic too, we were always on the phone to him asking questions before the kitchen came, and he was always there and ready to help us. An outstanding job!
I had the misfortune to get Christies Kitchens via the internet. Had a salesman come round to give a quote on a kitchen for my mothers flat, which is tiny. Made to sit through a long presentation when I was presented with a quote of about £17300. When I had finished laughing, he said that he could reduce the quote which he said was "retail" and got that down to about £10500. When I said far too much we haggled down to £6500. A few days later I cancelled, and then got inundated with calls, and finally agreed to get the kitchen fitted for £5200. The kitchen was delivered one weekend and then fitted about 2 weeks later, but a wall cabinet was missing. After innumerable phone calls and the missing items getting delivered to an empty flat twice, they now ignore my calls and letters. Can't complain about the kitchen quality and the fitting, but after sales service is rubbish. Am now trying to either get this finished or some of my money back. PS. Christies appear to be part of Weatherseal the conservatory people. I note that their address does not appear on their webpage, nor indeed do their customer reviews !! Wonder why?
After having the salesman round from christies kitchens i was initially very happy with the service i first received as the young lad wasnt pushy and seemed to be helping me out giving me a very good quality product at a good price, then after he had left, as im sure a lot of people do, i decided to research the company online... didn't look good... so i immediately called them to cancel my order after reading the comments on this site. Very shortly after i received a call from the 'Regional manager' who assured me that he was going to look after me! he explained how all kitchen companies are going to have bad reviews and if they didn't then you should be a bit worried, which i saw as a fair point. He asked me to look at some reviews of other kitchen companies for my own piece of mind. So i did and just as he said there were a lot of bad reviews for other competing companies. So i decided to go ahead with the order, but what he asked me to do was after my kitchen was complete, come back on to the sites that i found these comments on and leave a positive one, which i thought was fair enough as long as the service was as good as he said it would be. One thing he did mention, which after thinking about i realised was probably true, is that people don't really go online to leave comments if the service is good they only come on here to get themselves heard if they went through a bad experience! So here i am holding to my word, writing a positive comment on a review site! Every step after the sales pitch from the young salesman, was, i must say, exactly as they had told me it would be, the kitchen was delivered on time with all parts present, i did store it in my garage for 2 weeks before the installation was done, but again when the installation team arrived they started early everyday and worked hard to get the job done. It did take 4 days to complete it, but it looked magnificent when it was done and still does now, Overall the service was very good they were true to what they promised, hence why i am sat here now writing this review. All i would say is don't be put off by what you read online, they are a good company and im a very happy customer. The quality of my kitchen is excellent and i am more than satisfied with it, the service i recieved was also very good(maybe because of my initial response to the reviews i read) but i would happily use them again in the future!
I regret my decision!!!!
My experience with Christies was a good one until I had to deal with installation department. The kitchen was half fitted on 1th September 2011. The fitter had to wait for more items to be delivered so he had to leave the job until all items are delivered. Since then I'm hopelessly chasing Installation department to get someone over to finish the job but all my efforts have been futile. Can't express how frustrating experience this has been and writing this post with the hope that someone in Christies who cares about customer services will pick this comment and help me! Ch15355
thankyou christies kitchens for the fantastic job you have just done for me.the quality, workmanship and price was amazing... Mark the designer did me proud
I have had the misfortune to have been sucked in by their sales pitch, when the salesman came round he had only been doing the job for a short time, so no more said there. He arrange for a surveyor to come round on the Monday. Things didn't add up and was not happy so I google the company and had seen not very good reports. So I rang to cancel the appointment for the Monday spoke to the girl gave her my name, address, postcode. Low and behold the surveyor called and left a message on my voicemail so I called him back and said I had cancelled the appointment and he said well let me come and give you a quote anyway. I said no as I wasn't going to be here. In the meantime I had the salesman ringing me most of the weekend but as I knew who it was I didn't answer the phone. Anyway the surveyor turned up, while he is banging on the door I get a phone call from the sales manager.......well that's where it gets nasty.......I have never been so harrassd by a company if I had been a little old lady I would have found this very frighting. He still said let him come in give you the survey and give him a cup of tea. I said no as I was going out........and he more or less accuse me of wasting their time I cant tell you how rude and intimidateing I found this. I cant tell you the whole conversation but I shall be writing to their CEO/Managing director. So the moral of this story is dont deal with Christies Kitchens...Oh and if they had a central phone number or even an e-mail address that would have been handy........these 0800 - 0845 numbers are a pain.
To update my earlier blagger; deposit now returned. I also received a message from Christies, seemingly taking my comments and concerns seriously, so hopefully customer relations will improve. They also promise to add a customer relations contact number to their website, and do better in future. I can't comment on the quality of their kitchens or installation as we never got that far.
Watch this space. We are currently attempting to get our deposit back from Christies Kitchens, which we are fully entitled to having cancelled within 7 days. However, Christies have not sent any acknowledgement of our cancellation nor the return of our money yet and it's been more than 14 days since the cancellation. We cancelled because of the bad reviews associated with Space Kitchens (their previous name). Alarm bells started ringing when we read these reviews so we decided to play safe and cancel. This is when the true face of this company surfaced. They talk a good talk - their website is glossy and professional but the only phone number you'll find there is for sales. We've been in touch with the consumer direct organisation and they in turn will contact trading standards on our behalf. If we have to go the small claims court we will. But do you really want to deal with a company that doesn't honour its most basic promise? We'll keep you informed of progress in getting our deposit back and I'd be interested to know if anyone else if going through this same process at the moment. Be careful out there!
