We placed the order for the made to measure bespoke kitchen & fitted bedrooms with this company on the 15th august 2011 for the sum of £9600.00.
But they took £11,752 out of our credit card. That’s £2152.00 more than what we agreed on. I have their receipts to prove this.
When taking the order They promised us bespoke fully assembled units at the factory will be delivered to us.
Bu this company 1st tried to deliver us flat packed kitchen which we refused. Than they assembled the flat packed units purchased from kitchen group at their own wear house/shop and delivered them to us.
When the units were finally delivered and upon checking I found that all the wall units are standard 720mm & not what we ordered 800mm (as stated on our survey diagram/report).
Also all the hinges are not soft closing but normal standard hinges.
Wrong size 3 drawer Base unit ordered 1000mm but delivered 900mm.
The entire corner curved units still missing.
Wrong size boiler unit.
Larder units are of standard type with shelf’s fitted in them and not pull out as we ordered & no pull out mechanism delivered.
Their manager was also informed of some units, which are damaged and have parts missing,
In total 8 units are still missing from the order for the kitchen.
And no sign of bedroom fittings its been over 4 months now.
i have made claimed against them and got part of my money back through credit card company and trying to get the rest back as well.
One other thing. Just to let you know that they also have done same thing to my next-door neighbor who are also going through their credit card company.
I have reported Meta4Bespoke kitchens to Trading standards and to consumers direct.
And I am been advised to sue this company for compensation via small claims court.
If there is any one who have purchased any kitchen/bedrooms from this company via credit card than please do check your credit card statements as they fraud us for over £2150,
please take my advice and be careful as we been put through hell by this company & still have no kitchen or bedrooms & waiting for refund from credit card company.
Meta4 are not answering our phone calls or letters.
Thanks.
HA,ha.The last comment mafe me laugh.I worked for this company for some time but they are out of my area and I moved to another one.
Now.Here is some inside info about them. They do do bespoke kitchens and they do normal size kitchens. The guys who run it are professional enough and I can`t fault them for asking to be paid for the units upfront.I have worked for all the big companies like Moben,Kitchens Direct ,Betta and a couple more and they all operate in a similar wayand get their money before anything gets delivered. The quality that Meta offer though is a lot higher and because they are not big is extremely good value for money.During my time with them I have seen them trying to please their customers and even giving them more than they expected, changed plans during the fit as per customer`s request.Try and do that with a big company. As for the reviews I will not be suprised if they have good ones and dont think anyone should label them like you have.It seems to me that this is another customer who tried to get his way but it didnt work.LOL.By the way it sounds like you havent even got a kitchen from them,so how caan you put such a comment.I doubt that these guys will let you damage their reputation and get away with it.So will any other company.
Bottom line.Their product is really good and the service is not bad either. The commissions they pay are not as high as other companies but they dont have clawbacks.Hopefully they keep it up.
I've just been dealing with Meta4 "Bespoke" (yeah right! they just get in ready-made off-the-shelf carcass components and ready-made doors from UK suppliers. It's "bespoke" because each kitchen is different and made "just for you"!!) Kitchens and I must warn all of you to not waste your time on them. These three other reviews on here seem totally made up and false. Isn't it amazing how all three came up over the space of two days and all are good ones??!! NO kitchen company is like that - they all have good and bad reviews (well here is the genuine one and it's a bad one!).
Anyway, my experience is as follows:
- they give you one price and when they know you're hooked (the surveyor was going to come out in a few hours!) and going to accept, they come back and refuse to honour that price and increase it by 20% - "the director has decided not to proceed with an order from you....the price is unacceptable to the company". Apparently, the designer didn't even get his final price authorised and signed off internally before giving it to me. I guess he thought I would just accept the increase of 20% just like that.
- they refuse to show you completed kitchens unless you give them 35% deposit upfront, 35% on survey (so that's 70% before anything even happens or is made or delivered!!) and then 30% 7 days before delivery (fitting costs on completion)!!!! NEVER EVER agree to paying so much upfront before delivery unless you are 100% sure of the company and the service that you will be getting. Keep it to 10-20% maximum and if the company is reputable and will honour their side of the deal, they have nothing to worry. You should only pay them for the items on the delivery day when you have inspected all the items and made sure everything is there and everything is of good quality.
- this is their excuse for not showing me any of their completed kitchens: "every job is different ,so it is irrelevant to yours."
- they chop and change an agreed design without even telling you - different size units were swapped in/out, layout was changed, etc
I told them to st*ff it after all this rubbish. And people think Vance Miller and his dodgy kitchens are bad!! There's a new bunch of cowboys in town, believe me!!
This is written on the Review Centre website: "Please confirm that you understand that it is illegal in the UK to write a review about your own business or to write a review that is false". I've reported the 3 Meta4 Review Centre reviews to ASA as false and they will be investigating them.
I'm in the process of purchasing a new kitchen and I've had several people round to quote (Moben, Christies, Kitchens Direct, Homebase, KitchensNow, Meta4Bespoke, BettaLiving) and the whole process is just getting more and more confusing and frustrating! I've experienced all the usual sales tricks and gimmicks but what I'm most worried about is parting with a 30% "advance/deposit" and getting sub-standard materials/service or nothing at all. I've read some of the horror stories online in various forums and I would like to gather more feedback from people who have gone through this process either scar-free or have been burnt. Please let me know your experiences and what you got and for what price. My property is a normal 3-bed semi-detached, kitchen is all along 1 wall (about 6m in length) and there are a total of about 12-13 units (5 base units, 1 tall larder, 1 drawer base, 6 wall units, stone worktop, sink&tap, freestanding cooker&extractor hood, cornices, plinths and pelmets). Estimates for supply, fitting and prep work (removal of tiles, plastering, skimming, painting) range from £5000-£6000 and 1 of £2100 (KitchensNow.co.uk).
Has anyone bought from Meta4 Kitchens - based in Barnet? They seem to supply kitchens by BA Components (www.byba.co.uk) and they seem to be okay. I couldn't find much about them at all on the internet except on their website Meta4bespoke.co.uk. I'm a little dubious about a company that no-one has heard of so I would value your opinions. It would really help me to know if they are legit and if they are value for money.
I've also got someone from the Trade side of BettaLiving coming out today who says they can better the price originally given by their Designer who came out a few days ago but I declined to go with them because they were too expensive.
Please let me know your opinions as to the two companies mentioned above and provide advice about what I should do.
