We have a number of taxi firms in milton keynes and there has been along standing upset regarding firms from outside the area taking according to some milton keynes firms, business. Now the outside firms are apparently allowed to work in milton keynes or must do as they have for years.
Thing is after reading article about how milton keynes taxis were upset about it I always tried to use a firm I knew was milton keynes based, sort of supporting local.
Thing is now on two times this one milton keynes firm has chose to take my booking and not turn up. They normally turn up direct to your door, but in certain areas they dont and leave you vulnerable as in today just spent £220.00 in tesco involving frozen and fresh food for the month and they dont show.
I rang them just before 21.00 and they said they were on their way. At 21.15 I rang again just to check all was okay due to them not turning up last time and was told on the way and with me in five minutes. We are now starting to worry and frozen is defrosting and at 21.30 decided to ring the other firm who say they will be there in five minutes.
Five minutes later the other firm is here true to promise and we finally get home.
I ring RAFFLES and say because they have no idea wether I am home or not I presume, that I am concerned they did not turn up, to be told the taxi hung around till 21.37 and could wait no longer.
Now considering the other firm was engaged by us at 21.30 and we were just home before 21.40 either they just turned up as we left or as I suspect based on last time, they are just saying they turned up, but in any case her response to my feeling upset as to them telling me they were on the way at 21.00 was "were not bothered"
A one off could forgive but it seems in milton keynes if you wish to book a taxi from the tescos at kingston to get home from my experience of two out of two, I would not choose RAFFLES as they dont turn up, or if we will have it their way their five minute wait time will be at least 40-45 mins and you are left with defrosting food.
Look I am easy going and if a firm says a wait is 20-30 mins, I am quite capable of ringing around and choosing an alternative, where they are dispicable is they let you think they are on the way and leave you to hang, then you have to start again.
So next time I read an article where local firm wishes to argue another firm is not allowed in their town, and yet the other firm turns up as promised and charges less, who do you think I am likely to call?
NOT RAFFLES because they are 'not bothered'!!!!!!!
