My son bought car from Steve of GT Trade Centre in Paignton. Gearbox went wrong in 2 months (in warranty period) and after a great deal of chasing and broken promises Steve eventually took car to have gearbox repaired. Unfortunately he refused to pay the bill and my son had to pay bill of £700 to get car back. Again after many broken promises and only after sitting outside his flat and confronting him did he give £250 towards the repair.
He ignored all letters for the rest of the monies so my son took him to court and now has County Court judgement to recover the outstanding monies. Since the court order he has still not paid the monies so we will be sending in Bailliffs. We have noticed GT Trade Centre website no longer has cars for sale, maybe he has folded the company or gone bust? If this is the case then my son will pursue Steve for the debt. Does anyone know his full name and another address for him? The car has once again broken down and repair bill looks to be over £1000 for new injector pump etc. My son will be going to court again for the £1000 under the sale of goods act. So be warned, do not purchase a car from Steve of GT Trade Centre. He seems a nice honest bloke when you are buying but as soon as he has your cash you will not be able to get hold of him, he will lie and deceive you and cost you even more money. As his company may no longer be trading note his address as he may use it for another company. Finally you can see what sort of bloke he is as my son got parking ticket when Steve had the car back to sort out the gearbox!

I sincerely wish I had carried out my research before having dealings with this garage, I have had nothing but trouble with steve and the vehicle purchased. I have reported him to trading standards and have recently submitted a court case. He is so unprofessional I wonder how he has a business at all! He was nice enough when he took my money but that soon changed when I reported many faults. No local garages will touch him with a barge pole as he fails to pay his debts therefore I'm unable to get essential repairs done under the warranty and sale of goods act 1979 unless I pay myself. I'm currently left with an unusable car and a pending court battle!

Having purchased a 'reliable' car from GT Trade Centre i was shocked to discover its many faults as soon as i took delivery. Faults included not being able to lock or unlock the car, leaks in the car leaving puddles of water in the foot well and door compartments and an overwhelming creaking from the rear of the car! The dealer has been unapologetic and difficult to get in contact with!!!!! After may false promises of a delivery date it took 3 weeks to get this second hand car so imagine my disappointment when i finally did get the vehicle. Steve has been very decetfull and having spoken to local garages he deals with i find they have the same problem. I would NEVER purchase anything from this man again. He gives second hand car dealers a bad name!
