I bought a 60 pound pair of leather boots from Clarks and wore them 4 or 5 times only to discover that if it drizzles a bit my feet get wet. So I went to the shop to return them and they tried to suggest that I am lying and they were looking at me like I'm crazy. They refused to give me a refund because I have worn them. I don't understand this policy, because if the shoes are faulty, it doesn't matter if they were worn or not, they don't intend to sell them to someone else, do they?
The employees were really rude and they even swore in front of me. I certainly won't buy anything from this shop again.
I took my 3 year old son into Clarks into Nuneaton. His last pair of shoes was an 8 1/2 G. The assistant that fitted him measured him as a 9F, I asked her how his feet had got narrowerer and she said that it may be because his feet had got longer? Thought this was a bit strange! However I put my trust in her as it is Clarks! She fitted him with a 9F. Went straight home with the shoes on and when I took them off I noticed he had red marks across his feet. I returned the next day for them to be checked and another assistant checked the shoes saying they were too narrow, I had to ask for him to be measured again and he was a 9 1/2 H. She said the assistant that had originally fitted him was training,(I replied I understand that people make mistakes and could we try some more shoes on) The assistant was then trying on a G size on my son saying he should be ok, even though he measured as a H. By this time I'd had enough of being fobbed off and just asked for a refund. While talking to the assistant my son was trying to talk to me so I told him to wait, he then tried to interrupt and before I could tell him to say "excuse me" the assistant reprimanded him! I felt really uncomfortable and just wanted to get out of the shop. I got an apology for the wrong fitting shoes as I was walking out. I have been to this shop before and the staff have been really helpful and friendly, it appears to be the newer staff which need more training in fitting and possibly a bit more humility! I will continue to buy Clarks shoes however I won't be returning to this store again!
I have bought a leather shoes pair from Clarks and found internal pain in one foot. When I went to exchange as there is fault in one shoe, a big argument has been taken then finally they have changed it. My daughter bought a £35.00 shoes and found some pain at the back of both feet. When she went back for exchange, she has been informed that it is the right size and just needs to be ware several times. She has started doing so and next day big nodules appear at the back of both feet. She has tried to refund but they refused saying the shoes have been warn. I think Clarks has changed to worse by the time. It wasn’t like this before. I do not think I will buy any shoes from Clarks any more
