Whilst the food is satisfactory (if you go to the store yourself..), the delivery is so poor. I order my food online as I have very little time to do any shopping and I like to order in bulk. Sainsburys is my closest supermarket so I have been using them for the past few months.
I will not be using them anymore.
The delivery is so awful! They seem to pick all the items that are going out of date, they have also delivered me bruised fruit and veg on more than one occasion!
They have got my address wrong three times. Even though I am sure they must have sat nav. The reason I order from them is because I'm busy...however they constantly ring me asking where my address is. Last time I ordered they rang to say they were outside, only they weren't, they were on another street with the same name on the other side of London...
Not only are they late but they are rude. They never apologise for being late, neither do they deliver with a smile.
From now on if I ever shop in Sainsburys again I will have to make time to do it myself!

Using Sainsburys Online is a dismal experience. It is entirely down to chance whether they deliver the items you ordered, whether they deliver quality produce that isn't about to expire, and whether the drivers actually remember to give the right groceries to the right people. And to think we pay handsomely for this 'service'! I recently tried to order from Sainsburys Online, who arranged a shop & delivery from the store in Edgware, north London. Who knows where half my shopping went to: I did try to find out & the store duty manager was supposed to call me, but couldn't be bothered so I got some poor driver who hadn't been given any information, at the end of his shift trying to find mystery missing groceries. In the end, I wanted to cancel the order entirely, so I could try to use the Waitrose Ocado service, which is SO MUCH better. I was told that the store was too busy (seriously! Like my time spent waiting in & trying to chase the order wasn't valuable!). I had to ring again to get the refund for the items they'd charged but hadn't delivered. Apparently the refund is coming through any day now ...
As ever, its 30% the inconvenience of things going wrong and 70% the attitude of store staff who clearly cannot be bothered. Oh Waitrose, forgive me for being disloyal! I will be coming back to you just as soon as I've redeemed my Sainsburys Nectar points and gotten my free goods - I figure they owe me that!

Purchased some electrical goods recently from My local Sainsburys and I am very impressed with both the value for money and customer service aspects, not easy to get both in other main stores speaking from experience.

I never buy food from supermarkets, however my girlfriend went out to buy meat and missed the butchers as they close early on Saturday, so bought 2 pork chops from Sainsbury. They were from the meat counter, and were labelled "Outdoor Bred".
Now the pork i am used to has a nice tanned looking, hard skin and a layer of fat on it. This stuff was white, so white that I would testify that it had never seen a day of sunshine in it's very short life, and very... soft and wet is the only way to describe the texture, and not soft in a good way. When i cooked it there was loads of water. Do they inject these things?

Also, does anyone know what the term "Outdoor Bred" actually means in terms of animal welfare? The pork we usually have is born outside, raised outside, lives outside and only comes inside for slaughter, but there is nothing about the Sainsburys pork that tells me it has ever been anywhere but inside a barn.

Tastewise; I cooked it in a red hot cast iron pan, no oil, just seasoned it and threw it in. When the water had been cooked out of it, and it finally took on some colour, it wasnt too tough, but the texture was too close/tight, almost like it had been boiled rather than grilled in a pan. It was almost tasteless, needed a lot seasoning to give it any flavour.

Next time we will get to the butchers earlier, or I would rather go without meat than buy this.

I'd like to see Sainsburys update their trolleys to something more modern looking. Toys R Us have the right idea. Have you tried their trolleys? It's like you're shopping in the 21st century. Those old metal cage things are so awful. If Toys R US sold food I'd never shop anywhere else.

The Hendon Sainsburys needs to get a grip. I went into the store on Saturday afternoon to get the basics. When I got to the baked goods section it looked as though the whole world had been shopping there. When I asked someone in the bakery about getting some more bread onto the shelves, I was told I should have come earlier. It was 3pm on a busy shopping day. You would think they would have more stock. I was so angry I could hardly speak. The sales clerk just looked and me and walked away. I realize that supermarkets have to compete, but maybe if they spent more time on what their business truly is (grocery) they would be doing a lot better.

i know the comment was left some time ago but hopefully the person that wrote about streatham common and purley way will read this. firstly i wish to make comment on one of my colleagues at purley way being called a retard sainsburys employ people who are from shaws trust it gives them a perpose in life and they are treated just as any other colleague this person needs to look beyond a persons disability and also could be prosecuted under the dda i wonder how they would feel if a member of their family had a problem and they over heard someone calling them a retard. secondly at streatham common we have a new management team who have worked hard to improve avalibilty and staff are expected to give excellent sevice to all our customers and treat them with respect, staff have to be aware that the person who requires assistance could be a mystery shopper and if we come in below 80% then it would affect their bonus i hope this preson reads this and maybe makes amends by putting an apolegy on here and helps out at a centre where they will find these so called retards are actually very special people.

Borough High Street's Branch is a dirty mess with rude staff, over priced goods, and no standard! aside from the rude comments you get from the staff if you want anything from behind the counter you also get abuse if you don't have correct change and even sarcasm if you do especially from a cashier named Deng and one badgless Muslim female who works behind a till. Sainsbury should say if you don't want to work here then do one to the staff at borough high street. I have started to take a half hour trip to Asda as it is cheaper, cleaner and has better staff.

Went to get some petrol from sainsburys in Shrewsbury, The pump decided to add 3 pence to my total as soon as i put the filler back in the holster. So Told the cashier, and old guy with a white beard and he was extremely rude to me, telling me he didn't give a toss, I will never give my money to that company again. As some of the comments say on here Asda is by far the best super market so I will be shopping with them in the future.
