Had an ACER one netbook running Linux for the last 2 years, Ran OK for that time, however, a software problem has turned up that will not allow the browser to open. Tried all the solutions found on the web to no avail. So I though OK I will go for a format. There was no recovery system built in OR was there a recovery disc that came with the netbook. Just rang ACER as all the links to downloading the recovery software have been taken down. ACER wants £51.06 for a recovery disc!! I nearly fell off my chair! I certainly will not be buying an ACER product again
"We purchased Twenty (20) Acer netbooks but nearly Ten (10) of the Acer netbook's bluetooth has died within 6 to 10 months and they sometime frozen while it's in the Power saving mode. I assume that the rest of the netbooks will follow suit.
We have sent the netbook back to them for repair but their netbook's Bluetooth break down again and again within a month of repaired and return to us.
I contacted their support centre number of times and asked for their solution but all they did was asked us to return the laptop again to their centre so they can do a repair again. I know for sure that the laptop's Bluetooth switch is in the wrong location. You need to push the Bluetooth switch every time you want to use it, because it is on the keyboard next to function key F1, F2....F12. So when you close the screen lid the Bluetooth switch itself off, open the screen lid Bluetooth still off. So generally you have to keep pushing the Bluetooth switch to be able to use it.
Acer support centre in India provided me with a case reference number 1156183N and requested me to go online and raise a complaint but they refuse to replace the products or refund the money. The product is still under warranty."
Never buy those!

Acer Aspire M3201 is the worst computer I have ever had. I bought it from PC World and so Acer refuse to accept any responsibility and put the onus on to the store. The disk tray control is unbelievably useless and you need the fingers of a ten year old child to use it. I have had endless problems with it and if I could afford to throw it in the river I'd be delighted to do so.
