Hardcore sales people saying ridiculous things like "we're always complaining to the boss that we're selling the cars too cheap!". They also asked me for a £1,000 deposit on a £6,000 car which is extremely suspicious. They won't answer specific questions and would rather just push you into a test drive. I walked away, you should too if you're not happy. Plenty of cars out there.
I have recently took delivery of my new car from Rix Motor Company and can i just say what a pleasure it was to deal with this company. The standard of service was excellent. The salesman and staff were very helpful and polite, it made buying my new car easy!! The salesman even phoned me when i got home to see if i'd got home ok in this terrible weather which i thought was a lovely touch. I cannot recommend them enough. I'm made up with my new car. Thanks to all at Rix's!!
I part exchanged my car with Rix Motor Company about 6 weeks ago.
They seemed very helpful and friendly at first untill the money had changed hands.
I have purchased a BMW from Rix that was registered 'NEW' in 2006 and i have since discovered from my main dealer that this car was on the road in Cyprus in 2004 on a different plate...Yes its an Import!! Imagine my horror!
But thats just the start, On closer inspection of the vehicle, it has had alot of badly done body repairs carried out on the off side rear quater and around the drivers door and wing..lots of overspray and filler marks but it did have a nice set of new alloys and tyres to take your eyes off the mess!
This has cost me over £700 to put right..
And to add insult to Injury, there was no tool kit, no torch in the glove box an and only 1 key.
Yes im still waiting for my spare key and that phone call you promised me..Its only been 6 weeks..
I hope that Joe public reads this and carry out as many checks as they can prior to buying anything from these people.
This has caused major stress and my complaints have been ignored.. SO BEWARE!!
It was a pleasure to go to this dealership. The staff were more than helpful and I got a great deal! I was so pleased with the bargain I got, I sent my brother there to purchase a car and he is more than satisfied. Both cars have had no faults at all and I've just had a valuation on the car I bought 6 months ago and the car has not dropped in value at all! Great company, I highly recommend!
nice and helpfull untill they get your money and faults start to appear on the car. AND THEY WILL APPEAR!!! TRUST ME. they will not give you a courtesy car while they sort out the problem. in fact they will try and fob you off at all costs. they will say "leave it with me and i'll get back to you" but won't get back to you. my car was sold to me with brake disc's 3-5mm under the minimum allowance, brake pads heavily worn. two tyres heavliy worn on the insides. none of which would rix accept IT was for them to sort out as i'd had the car for over a month. the fact i'd been out of the country for three weeks and only done 87miles in the thing ment nothing. and in the following months it required a new exhust, had water ingress into the roof lining, the power steering pump gave up. and the oil service rix gave the car must have been a top up as when i changed the oil and it's filter you could tell theres no way they'd done it.
THIS FIRM ARE A JOKE
I purchased my car less than a month ago and since the second day of driving it I have noticed a considerable noise when turning right.....it sounds like the wheels are about to fall off!! I have reported it twice to Rix and asked if someone could look at the problem as it is still within the 30 day warranty!! The sales person who sold the car called my husband back and was quite snotty about it stating that the warranty only covered Mechanical and gear box. However, as I drive every day with a 3 year old child in the car you would think out of common courtesy and decency they would even have a look!!! Their aftersales service is shocking to say the least and I hope for their sake the wheels don't fall off as they will have a very large law suit on their hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last week I purchased a car from rix motor comapny as I had heard lots of good comments from friends and family who had bought cars from there in the past. They recommended it to me over other used car dealerships. As I approached the pitch I was greeted by a very polite sales person who accuratly answered all my questions and spoke to me like a human being. After browsing all their stock and test driving a few cars I settled on a Focus RS. I went with the sales person into the showroom where we discussed figures. I was made a beautiful cup of tea and the parrot sat in the corner was a nice touch to the showroom.
Rix motor company gave me a fair price for my part exchange and even said I could take the car the same day. I drove away a very happy person. However, a couple of days later the engine management light came on. At first I was a bit annoyed but thought that because it is a used car things may occur. I brought the car back to Rix motors and they gave me a loan car whilst they investigated the problem and sorted it out. Turned out to be an o2 sensor was faulty.
I would highy recommend Rix motor company to everyone as they have a huge selection of cars, a friendly sales service and their after sales service was excellent. Thanks again to Mr Rix and all the team.
no complaints about the actual process of buying the car, but once money had changed hands it was a different story. I'd asked them to look at a problem with the central locking, which they didn't do, and wouldn't even entertain the idea after I'd driven off the forecourt, repeatedly stating it wasn't covered by the warranty. Very disappointing as I initially only wanted somebody to identify the problem before discussing any liability, if any. Trying to speak to 'Mr Rix' was a joke, an audience with the Pope would be easier.
Also, check the adverts, I realised later that the car I bought was advertised on Autotrader as having covered 3k less than it actually had. When I checked on Rix's own website to see my vehicle that I'd p/ex'd, lo and behold this too was advertised with 3k 'lopped' off the mileage! Not significant perhaps? but if they're prepared to do this what does it say about the company in general?
