I've, rather foolishly, been with Models Direct for more than 12 months. You would think at my age I would have had more sense. They appear to be only interested in your money, not in finding you modelling work. Avoid like the plague!
I am one of the victims of the Models direct. I recieved a mail and a message confirming my baby has been selected for a 3 year contract and to pay £126 . I paid the amount and till Models direct will mail me immediately whenever i pdate a new pic to the profile. Mail confirms that my babies profile has been viewed by so and so , and upgrade the account to superstar by paying more £60 for a year..Why people being cheated like this..and why these companies are existing.
Im so glad I just read these reviews... my son has just been offered a 3 yr contract with this agency costing me £126. The thing that made me think twice before accepting the offer is that NOBODY has rang me to discuss my son or invited us in so that they can have a look at him... I literally sent 2 pics by email to them and they emailed me asking for £126 to represent him. After reading that they were on watchdog It's safe to say I wont be coughing up any money to them...
I have registered my son recently with this agency. £42 for the year (£126 for three year contract)does not seem a bad price to pay. They cannot guarantee work, obviously but they do have some good reviews on their web site and have been operating for 19 years.
They are also regulated by government business and skills agency (BIS).
I have found them very helpful over the phone. I hope my son does get an assignment but the company states their are no guarantees and I can understand this. They have to charge to cover their staff costs and running the web site . I do not think this is asking alot.
