RE my last post orange have finally agreed to cancel the contracts and want the phones returned via post. I have still not received a bag despite my email to them after them telling me they will send one. They have refunded the money I paid via cheque which arrived fine to my address which confirms they have the correct address, yet the bag has not arrived.
How much longer am i expected to wait for them to close this matter as i am too unwell to take the stress of contacting them again by phone due to past experience. I will email one more time to say the bag is not here and if get no reply assume they do not want the phones back after all.
I mean they could send the store manager to my house, yep the store that miss sold me to personally collect them and sign a chitty that I have handed two phones over to them!!!! If they can get a cheque to me fine, they surely can sort the return of the phones or organise a courier perhaps?
If I dont hear within the next seven days I will assume the matter is closed.
Will never trust them again. They pounced on me on entering to browse, sold me a contract. Made store error that meant the customer services were telling me my contract was not going to be honored by them. Subsequently told my contract was valid to them find they had mis sold me.
I have been told not to trust verbally what told in an orange store by guess who, the chief executive office of orange, call taped. I asked were they not concerned with that statement?
I have eyesite problems and the chap had to hold his hand in manner for me to know where to sign above his hand. He knew of my condition and read the terms as 600 mins, unlimited texts and heres your unlimited broadband.
All seemed fine.
Heres the sniffy bit. They verbally refered to it as unlimited broadband akin to 3 that I said I was going to on my browsing to look at their all you can eat data. Was told there unlimited would give me all I could need. I went to great lengths to be reassurd that I would at no time expect bills for exceeding any limit and was told no problems unlimited.
So it was in my opinon miss sold and worse thing is I singed to two phones, one for son that I was needing reassurance would not slap me in the face with bills and another for me with big screen that I could expand font and read.
They offered me no alternate contract I could read and were happy to read out what he described as the important bits re mins texts and unlimited broadband. At no time did he say you need to read all this and that and I trusted him.
I am considered a fool by the chief executives office in my opinion they were made aware of my condition by the store and dont care.
I did some secret shopping and calls to find out wether orange are still calling their data unlimited whilst happily stating it was removed from marketing. Guess what I got loads of taped calls where no matter how thick you lay your possible data excesses might be due to you tube 40d etc.....they are happy to let you think you will be okay.
When I said the agents, why are you not saying their is a fair usage policy, I got shock and one told me never knew anyone exceed it!!!!! Yeh right android phone, not risk according to him from what his experience is, does not cut it. Another told me they legally have to sell it and describe it as unlimited!!!!!!! Odd as they have stopped marketing it as such on advertisments etc...
Finished off by the cheif exec office saying well in any case we are legally allowed to describe 750mb as unlimited, basically as a childs so there would reply. I said surely you are aware that this could lead to mis selling as I have recorded or misdescribing as in not telling of the fair usage policy and they basically could not give two hoots.
I therefore in my opinon think they are disabled prejudiced and also plain dirty with their selling and that is just little old me's opinion.
They are happy when things go wrong as in store error re accounts and contracts to expect us to be forgiving and patient, but on the other foot, they are anything but and only interested in your name on the line, wether you can see to sign or not.
SHAME ON YOU ORANGE. As for me I have insisted politely they cancel the phone contracts due to miss selling and my not being able to trust them in the future and made the phones available for return from soon after purchase, they on the other hand to not want them and say normal collection activities will commence.
Thats so nice of them !!!!!!!!!
Please do not trust orange as far as you could throw an old dried up one xx
Beware of Orange!! From my experience they do not care.
Last august I rung and spoke to their retentions manager and he only offered standard tariff deals saying it’s the best he could do even though I’m on the top loyalty band. He said I wouldn’t find a cheaper and better deal with orange however I told him it’s the standard tariff and caught him out.
Anyways a nice man from retentions again offered me:
2200xnet mins,
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet
15 picture messages
And orange maps
For £24.47 and any phone I wanted. It was a really good deal. All I had to do is find the phone I wanted. I wanted a phone I could share deal on etc and had java. There was none at the time. I was advised the offer would be kept for me till I found a phone I wanted. Every few months however I’d ring and speak to the nice man that offered this deal to make sure I could still have it, to which I was told yes, it’s in your notes, whenever you find the phone you want ring us and we’ll sort it out. I was told I didn’t have to speak to them even as it’s in the notes and anyone in the department would offer it me.
Anyway I kept checking till a few months ago when the HTC desire HD was rumoured to come out. I rung orange checked my deal and said once it’s out I’ll renew and they said that’s fine, can see deal. They said they wasn’t sure they was going to get the phone or not though. 2-3 months ago I rung to enquire about the htc desire HD’s release and was told October November this year.
Today I found it’s released but when I rung to renew, I was told by another rentention's man (very bad service) that I couldn’t be offered that deal. He said yes I would find customers on here with better deals but they are better valued customers who orange make more off. My bill is high yet it’s not what orange can make money off. Also because I make use of their magic numbers now I use a lot of minutes and they say I cost them a lot.
After 6 and a half years loyalty and for not being in contract for nearly 3 years, paying £35 a month for 500 mins, a tariff price now where you can get much more mins, they did not care. They said they couldn’t honour the offer as it’s been a year.
I told them I’ve been checking every couple of months and was told its fine, but they didn’t care no more. I think to them I was even though one the top loyalty band was costing them. Offer was withdrawn. Was treated badly I believe, didn’t care if I left orange. I think id served my purpose, and now they had finished with me. No loyalty on their end I see.
I in the end spoke to the gentleman who offered me the deal, another rude manager put him on. I think he’d been told to come over. In any case with the new t-mobile orange merger they said what they can offer has changed and they couldn’t offer me anything. Deal withdrawn. I believe competition has been stifled.
To all those that have been offered deals with orange, and all those who may think of going on orange, from my experience all I can say is beware. I have for many years been loyal to orange. Not anymore. There are better deals. Even Tesco offer £30 unlimited texts, internet, and mins. I could then just buy the phone.
Orange Mobile:
Buyer Beware - Orange does not operate a service in the North West Surrey Area, the signal is very weak or not reliable. The Company intentionally misleads the market as showing/telling customers via their various POS media that they have excellent coverage in GU24 area. They instruct their customer service team(not to blame)and the Sales Channels(not to blame) to mislead the market and customers.
Once you are customer on a contract, when you have signal/reception issue the will tell you the same story oh.. this is first I have I heard of the issue and that a mast as technical issue either North of south of your postcode. This is same line they have been pushing out since 2005.
If you live, work or pass through GU24 area one suggests you do not use Orange, you will only end up disappointed. The best network coverage is Vodafone, O2, T Mobile.
I have been an orange customer for many years, i havnt had any problems with them.
I find there staff friendly and very helpful, when i have any questions or wanting advice on the what upgrade phone to chose.
I usually get through to customer services within five minutes. If i wait longer at least they have decent music unlike some companies.
This a complaint I have made to Orange, today after giving some serious thought if I should.
Dear sir/madam..
I wish to make a complaint regarding a member of staff,Orange, date protection & your policy on the discrimination act.
I received a call from a female member of staff, which will be recorded from your accounts team on 20/02/09 at about 15:O5-15-:15 in regards to my account being behind in payment of £229.
I tried to explain to the member of staff that I have been off work with a long term illness,on less then half pay to which my place of work had under paid me this month through their own fault & would not be able to make a payment this week.
Your member of staff then butted in to say that I would be cut off, which I am & if I knew I was ill,off work then I should of not got the phone, contract!
I said that I did not wish to speak to her & terminated the call.
I have been a customer for over 11 years & went on contract in Aug 2008 which has been a waste of money & time.
I say this because when I got the contract there was a free offer for 2 to 3 months to use the internet/email,which I was not able to use.
That was after going to the Orange stores in Leeds to see if they could sort the fault out but couldnt & both stores ended up calling the same number,Orange tech support that I had been calling, which you can be waiting over an hour to get through but the fault never got sorted & so I gave up.
You will be able to look into your records that I had been calling for over 2 months about the fault.
Going back to the call from your member of staff who called me on 20/2/09, 15:O5-15-:15,the member of staff had called me through my mother & fathers mobile number..***********,can you do that,is that not breaking data protection in some way?
I do have one good thing to say though & it is to do with a female member of staff to whom I think I spoke to in Dec/Jan.
This member of staff was very helpful, listened to what I had to say, my circumstances,to which should be on your records,I made a payment but I was advised that the barr would not be lifted but after the call,I dont know what the female member of staff did but reconected me.
I wanted to write/email a compliment about this person but was not able to because I had broken my right arm & ribs in December,so was not able to do this.
Then late January you sent me a txt,two days after I made a payment, you,Orange sent me a txt saying to switch off my phone so that you could send updates to my phone, which was an update to disconect my phone.
I feel that I have been a good customer over the 11 years, never taken any offers from you,not able to.
When your staff contact customers in future they should look at the last notes/notes on the account.
Orange should display on the contracts, shops, adverts & website to customers, not to take a contract out if your ill, off work or anything else that Orange discriminates.
I sugest that Orange & staff get trained in regards to the discrimination act.
I will be advising my family, friends & my work colleagues to not to use Orange.
I now wish to terminate my contract with yourselfs, under the grounds of discrimination & you can pick your phone up when you desire to.
Very dissapointed.
