It's shocking I just literally called to say cant pay Tmoro and will pay 15 th he said no way and I need to be paying something x I always pay weeks in advance but with Xmas and bank charges its left me right x I asked to re right account he says we can't just do that I have to be I. Arrears first and I have non essential its they can hold x it's shocking he's saying I have to call next Friday to set payment am up but I don't trust them will they come to my door x I'm pregnant and val ready stressed x

Just want to clear. a few things up goods from brighthouse whether hp rent to buy whatever they choose to call it these goodsi are in your home and this company has no right to harrass or intimidate you at your home your well within ur legal rights to call the police and have these debt recovery ppl removed from ur property( baliffis r ppl who work for the court and are the one ones after obtaining a court order who can force entry with police present)these are non priority debts agaon ur wothin ur legal right to make a token offer of a pound a month if they refuse this and they do take u to court( oh btw in taking u to court the judge gvs 2 options gv bk the goods or make a repayment offer)the police will not get involved in civil matters ,word to the wise thou don't let them into ur home and don't leave a window open either if they do send a debt collecter round letting them in means u accept the debt as does leaving a window open sonds silly I no don't ans there calls or respond to then in anyway if they hound u at home ignore and call the police every time and use words like harrass and trespassing and scared they will come out quicker and last thing don't stresS let apart from call u there's nothin they can do that's why they choose to harrass ppl so that they get fed up and just hand stuff bk hope that helps

hi, looking for advice regarding brighthouse/cavasham, the account is in my husbands name, btw we are separated but still living in the same house, he fell behind on payments and i had two men at my door when he was in work, i tried ringing him whilst they where on the door step, after it was agreed that they would leave me the fridge and one tele i let them in to take the one tele which we only had for 6 months, i knew they could take this cos he hadn't paid a third, but when my husband went to the store today to do a rewrite he asked why i was able to sign over the tele if the account wasn't in my name, they told him to ring cavasham, when he spoke to them they said he was 3 months in arrears, these men told me four weeks, she said she'll ring the store and get back to him, but didn't so he rang them back, they are know saying they didn't say 3 months and are also saying i told these men that my husband abandaned the building and the goods, we are going to take this further but need advice on who to contact, they are using our situation against us as if i would sign stuff over and to say he left to be the bitter ex wife, which i will say i'm not, things are very ammicable betwwen us and are getting along fine, there are other things but can't think of them at the monent, many thanks lynsie

Vicky I couldnt have messaged you back either. Get a rewrite done !! you have misunderstood what a rewrtite does, say you are six weeks late and have paid 120 weeks out of 152 weeks of a washer, a re write simply removes the six weeks missed (arrears) and adds them to the back of your agreement, it DOES NOT mean starting all over again, far from it !!Your 120 payments have been paid, no way do you start again, Brighthouse will remnove the arrears if you are struggling. You will have to pay them back of course but they will get you back down to owing one weeks payment.

Seen rubbish on here about court orders, that depends on protected goods status, do you really think a compnay would need a court order if you paid 1 week then nothing else for a 55 inch TV, come on !!

The prices are so high as the customers have poor credit as they have defaulted elsewhere and are a higher risk, as the people like those below who dont pay below have proven, why blacklist yourself and never be able to get credit again?? It may be big and clever now, but thats your credit shot for ever. If people stopped bunking them, am sure the prices would be a lot cheaper. Read in the paper all first payment defualts are now going to court regardless, suppose thats fine, after all it is obtaining goods by deception, beware.

Honey and topdogs tryd to message you back but won't allowe me thank u for yr meassage :-) so I haven't paid brighthouse for 4 weeks today I have around 12 phone calls a day banging at my door I'm waiting for them to take me to court so I can go them and pay though courts As they are really nasty rude ppl head office is just as bad as I offer a payment plane to pay off the week that I couldn't pay now my account has gone up and up they offer me to rewrite my aggrement but that means I would have to start from the start again and they will add my weeks to my payments so all the money I've already paid would be lost they told me they are trying help me save money how dose that work then I really wish I never went to them to start with what's the worse they can do

been with bh as a customer for about 2 years approx 3 months ago i stopped paying them then the phone calls started was getting abut 10 a day untill i blocked their number from ringing me had several house visits but did not answer door then few days ago had a call off 2 of their joking bailifs between them they had a iq of 7 went through all the usuall stuff i had to let them in and they will call police i just told them go away come back with court order spoke to citizern advice and national debt help line for them to get a court order the court will write to you first and they HAVE to have a court order to take your goods so just ignore them they cant do any thing and its right after 90 days you dont really hear off them the odd letter any one want any advice message me.

Please help I've been with bh a year paid every week not once been late last mth my washing broke I've had 2 loan ones what have broke last week I had no washing m I couldn't pay a week as had to go get my 4 kids clothes school clothes washed I got phone calls every day I told them why I couldn't pay they were really rude I rang this week to make a payment for my rv and dryer they said if I don't pay the full amout off 2 weeks they will remove all my goods I offers a payment they wouldn't take it as it wasn't enough but it was a payment right ? And I said I will make full payments again from next week was told I will be owning loads on my account and I have to pay I told them I haven't got the full amout there asking for due to me bring out ov pocket haveing to get kids clothes ect washed by this time I hang up rang head office and they are just as bad I wasn't saying I'm not paying them I had money in my bank to pay them they will not take it and are saying I have to get the insurance cover back on my tv and they will re write my arguments for all 3 items and I can pay £40 a week instead off £31 they told me its not there problem if the washing m broke and I had to go and pay to wash clothes they are all very rude and when I've been in the shop they always stand around slagging ppl off I'm really scared off what they will do as I'm in my own with 4 small children I thought they was meant to help and be understanding

I recently went into my local branch too see about getting a tumble drier, I filled out all the paperwork etc arranged a delivery for the following week. When I went in the next week too pay, I was told by a female asstthat on top of the £5 I had too pay an extra £7.50 for delivery costs which I said I was not told about previously. Anyhow I paid and left, spoke too my partner and decided too return and cancel it as we thought it was a con. When we got too the store, my partner noticed that the girl who served me was talking about us behind our backs with her colleague who I found out was her manager. Fair enough I got my money back but from a different male colleague who on the phone referred too me as an IT as Id cancelled and this was also done in front of the manager. I have complained too watchdog about them and waiting too hear. I WILL never ever go there again even more so after reading some of these. PLease take note

last payment made march still have gds had store staff at door had finance team then other week got letter off a solicitor then i had finance team last wk still not answer door to them THEY CANT TAKE YOUR/THEIR GOODS UNLESS THEY HAVE A COURT ORDER AND BAILIFF IF ANYBODY REQUIRES ADVICE FEEL FREE TO SEND ME A MESSAGE AND ILL DO MY BEST TO REPLY

I am currently a member of staff at Bright House and i put everything into working for the company always was willing to take over time hours, then we got a new manager and my hours got taken off me, then we get a new starter and then suddenly am not good enough he has been given full time hours and he dosent know what he is doing, so i ask my manager how long he is staying full time and she replys only for the time being then i find out he has been contracted to FULL time hours. he has been with the company for 4 months and because he is close to the manager he gets away with everything. with being with the company for 1 and half years i have realised that the staff and including managers and regional they sit in the back office slagging members of staff off, rude to customers and dont care how they treat customers or staff all they regard in that company is money and money!!! they dont care that sometimes people cant make a payment coz they havent got the money or have some family issues. i always treat my customer with the danmest respect as thats how i expect to be treated, the company is unfair and also they sell OSC to customers when the white goods that are hotpoint always have a 5 years part granutee but thats what they fail to tell the customers!!! i dont see my self how the copany dose so well because i feel the service to customers and how they treat there staff is discusting i wouldnt recommend any one to be come a customer to even work for the company.

Hi, im a brighthouse customer, last week my bank card was cloned and my account was emptied so was unable 2 pay my £6.49 weekly charge, i explained to the employee i spoke to wat had happened and i would pay in,the next couple of days wen my new card arrives n i get paid (tuesday) which is 2mra. I was then told as long its paid by wednesday, he then askd me to hold while he spoke 2 the manager, the manager then came on the line and was quite rude sayin if its not payd by 2day then hes sendin sum1 up 2 collect my washing machine, which is not working, i explained im not refusing 2 pay but i cnt do anything til my card arrives, he wud not except this at all, he got quite agressive so my partner took the phone and the manager carried on wiv tge threats so he hung up, can any1 tell me wat rights i have, i will b payin 2mra but i still need it repaired and am worried they wnt return it, thanx

I have been a customer of Brighthouse for a year and a half, I have paid every week without fail but now it is getting to much and the total a week stands at around 90 pounds. i can't afford to pay anymore and am a week late, i had a women from the store round yesterday telling me she can take the BH items without a court order as they are hire purchase goods, she also said she would call the police if I wasnt going to cooperate.. she didn't and I have since rang the police to see where I stand, they state that no debter/baliff of any sort can enter my property without consent (which obviously I am not going to give!!) or a court order? is this correct? Am I protected or can they do what they are saying? Please help. I know how stupid I am for gettin myself in this situation so I do not need some idiot telling me I am this or that.. I need advice please, nothing else. Thanks

oh dear oh dear, some of you certainly dont give your self a good name, why after signing an agreement did you decide to stop paying? By the way Brighthouse do NOT need a court order to remove THEIR goods on loan to you till you pay it off, however a court bailiff DOES need a court order to remove YOUR own goods that you own. Brighthouse are taking what is theres im afraid. Brighthouse can chase debt as well as Caversham finance, its the same company for Gods sake, just Caversham finance are interested in the FULL price of the remainder of the goods, if you dont pay the branch or sort iot under 34 days you lot are in big trouble, you can get your debt re wrote, they will take out the arrears to help you so you just pay 1 week again, but if you do nothing about it and arrigantlky decide not to pay, Caversham finance total up whats left ie weeks left x weekly amount, if you do not pay them or return the goods, they can take value of goods from your property for the said amount to sell at auction. This again can be rectified, well thats my undercover done. Messgae to the none payers, just geta re write if your struggling, the prices are sooooo expensive there because of people liek the idiot below who decide they dont want to pay anymore, which will cost the compnay money, most likely taking the cretin to court etc, therefore increasing prices.

i have miss just one payment from brighthouse the weekend just gone i had a death in the family so i phone them up too let them know that i would not be making my payment cos of the death so the same afternoon i got a phone call of them asking me why i did not pay so i told them and they asked me when i will be paying so i told them that it would be this friday when i get payed and they told me i had too pay so i told them that i cant pay cos of the death in the family they phone me on monday and they was nasty on the phone so i told them again what i said when i phoned them the first time and they phone me on thursday and i did not answer my phone and then they phone friday and i say i was coming in today too pay i got in the shop and they asked me again why i did not pay so i told them again they lady was nasty again so i give it her back and i asked them who do you think you are talking too and i told them too stop harassing me cos that is what you are doing and i do them that i have had people asking me what are brighthouse like and i said if i was you i would not get any think from them cos all they do is phone and harass you all the time i would never ever get any think off brighthouse ever again

Never paid for 48days now nd had caversham finance at door yesterday aswel as on fone I wasn't in though basically if I don't get in touch wiv them then leaves them no choice to take legal action but still hav store foneing me which they shudnt now nd shudnt visit my home due to it being passed to caversham finance they can't take me to court as they never credit checked me they only have 5references who hav no contact off me,av had the shops account team brayin on me door nd window also went round bk of house as dog was in garden they can't collect gds unless they have court warrent !

Stopped payin 6wks ago 3wks bk got told they pass t debt team still waitin instead I get manager at me door 6.35pm (store closes 5.30pm) and a member of shop staff accounts team who was sales assistant once she keeps comin t house even got watched nd followed today nout like a stalker eh? Everyday I get several fonecalls from 8am -7pm proper hounding me like (wish they wud take me t court cos al win ) theyv pist me off several timesive paid dlc nd insurance nd get told t gan t wilkys t buy bit needed or buy new bed proper attitude from staff

Yea understand that but when people circumstances change, nit their fault, a major company like that make loads of money from interest and late fees and people on low incomes or benefits get their kids stuff and house goods in there through no choice as they can't afford to pay out a full cash sum and we all been through being skint, but it's the way we get treated by this company, I wouldnt have gone to brighthouse at all if my washing machine hadn't broken, a car on finance is a choice not a need.
The way they knock your door after 2 days late and harassment and being spoken and treated like I am a criminal.

Have you ever thought that these people know the score when they sign up weekly payments? After all it is hire purchase. If my monthly direct debit for my car, (thats hire purhcase) isnt paid for, I get a phone call to pay. If I cant afford it I lose my car, simple as. Sob stories or not, you need to look at yourselves , if you think that you can't afford the £7 a week for a TV or whatever if something happens then just save up then !! Brighthouse is a not a "pay when I can" shop, its a "weekly payment" store. I have nothing for or against Brighthouse, I have never had any goods from them, but have you noticed all the complaints are from people that don't pay. Strange that.

I hate brighthouse!!! i tell them i can't make a payment after 5 days when it is due, only a few times I have done being a single mum it's hard. is this company 'flexible' no they have no understanding I always pay it, everytime I am a day late I get a phone call or if I check my phone they have phoned 5-8 times. the guy that deals with late payments should not be allowed to speak to people full stop, how he speaks to me is disgusting, once I told him I was at hospital due to my dad having a stroke "well I will be sending a van out to retrieve the goods" disgusting. one day my payment was late I was getting phone calls every half an hour and at 2pm they are knocking my door even though I did say I would have the money by 4, the guy knocking the door said he was going to call the police I said I had a tenner could he take that as some of the payment "no" I closed the door again he was knocking the saying he wants to know my landlord's name said I didn't know it so he decided to knock my neighbours doors, they didnt answer he then put his foot on my step so I couldn't close the door waving a screw driver in my face, managed to eventually close the door, he then started to kick my balcony fence. I was on my own and very scared I was shaking and my 2 year old was screaming. I made a complaint to head office but due to me paying late my complaint wasn't taken further. I can't wait to get my washing machine paid off as I will never ever use brighthouse again. I think they prey on people that are on benefits and on low incomes and how people are treated are disgusting. Very happy taking money off you but sending stuff back that are broke or we can't afford it they get nasty. i am keeping records of how many times they ring me and will record phone calls and record when they knock my door as I will not be subjected to being spoken to like that and made to feel scared of being in my home when they knock the door for just being 3-5 days late on payments.

Hi, I used to be a BH employee and they dont treat there staff any better than the customers. As for your goods being taken back, they must have a court order to take it back from you unles you give them your consent. They will ask you to sign a consent form when they take anything which covers them. If you do not sign the consent form and they take the item back you can claim all you money back you have paid on the item. Just tell them you are experiencing difficulties and that you are in a vulnerable position. As a vulnerable customer by law they cannot continue to harras you for payment and must not add to your vulnerability. The staff are targeted on the results they achieve but by letting them know you are vulnerable they cannot continue and cannot take anything without the relevant court order.

Hi unfortunatly i am a brighthouse customer and have been for over a year a couple of months ago i fell behind with my payments and after being spoken too like an idiot by rude members of staff and being told they can collect the goods without a court order i agreed to a re-write which meant my arrears were added to my account and will now take an extra 4 weeks to pay off...i have now fell behind again due to being off work through ill health...brighthouse are constantly ringing me(although i dont answer as i do not want to speak to any of their staff)..they have contacted my refs and im now expecting a knock at the door from them...can they remove my goods without a court order? im worried that the credit re-write has affected my rights...please help

i am an employee of brighthouse and customer and can honestly say that they do not look after their customers or staff. when items are returned from service the customer is not informed or it simply does not work still or if an item is on a collection from a customer to for brighthouse to hold onto (collect and hold) it has been put on the shop floor to be resold.
the quality of some items i have to sell are poor to say the least and sometimes hardly work currently we have to sell a tv but with no remote control (wat's the good in that?. as an employee we are abused by customers (which i cant say i blame some off the customers) and the management will hide out in the office and watch/listen on the camera then stating it's part of our job to take abuse.
i am on the verge off just walking out of the company. but whoever reads this take note it is not a glamourous company to buy items from and the osc (optional service cover) is not worth taking out as you are either without your item for god knows how long or you simply have a useless loaner that hardly works.
please feel free to comment or ask any questions and i will answer them honestly.
