Comments:

Hello fellows.
I would like very much to hear Comments from
someone, who has actually been on their holiday !!
organized by "the Summer Bay Resorts" in Florida.
What was good / bad ??

Did the actual standards live up to the Add?

Can anyone explain to me /and others/ what one actually did --in the end-- recieve for the amount of 895.00 S payed for the "price won" in adwance as one contaced the company after seeing their Add.

Does this initial Amount cover your first hotel
stays/the room rent?( how many 1,2,3 ?) and
when in the packet are you asked to pay for rooms yourself ?? And how much do you pay then for a normal dobbel-room in this "Summer Bay Hotel" and on the different occations??

How many dollars did you pay in the end for the
different holidays or for the packet as a hole
?? after you went to them/it ?? As we know we
have to pay amounts.

Could you get adwise from the personel at the
responsable hotel: The first hotel to stay in
on your holiday "Summer bay"... and was this "travel-adwise" and "help" of an continious / on going nature - during the holiday ??

Was the car-rent for 7 days included as promised by the hotel resort!! in the first payed amount??
if you have chosen this insted of free tickets
/entrances to Disneyland ...etc.

Did the amounts you paid match what you did get?
What do you think ??

Did anyone complete travels to all destina-
tions in packet? Please share you experiences!
Did the services graduatly fall ?

Where you forced to buy things at the sales-meeting one had to attend.

And did you get any strange Bills , that had no logical explanation under your different hotel- stays at the different locations ?

I also like to know before connecting with this
unconventional company again ... and placing an
actual order there... an leaving for florida having at this time paied expensive 2-ways air-transport ... how much they charged you for telefone-calls to their service center in Florida... I guess extreme much !!! because their sales-women keep chatting in the phone.... im awating my Bill... as I was lectured for a long time about tiny details , that could have easier been e-mail to me -- and put on hold two times -- someone I know later told me that some faul companies can live of telephone charges almost alone...using a direct line ... having all the money for themself --- that's probably why they talks your ears of... i fear so.

I don't know if this company can live up to their
promises on the locations, mabye ??
And if so, one might have a great holiday ??
If you can surpress the fear of sudden unexplaind
charges.
But I do know , that they are pretending to giving you a "winner price" saying that you are "a rare winner" - but in reality you haven't won a lot!! - having to pay for most thing yourself
in reality.

And their methods and terms are agressive !!
hard, strickt and as I mentioned very unconventual.

so - It up to one to decide for oneself to trust them - or not.

Also the promises the make on the phone do not
always reply to the rules in the written terms.
They say you have more months to start on your
vacation packet as said in the written rules.
They won't tell what you are paying for if you
ask.
And they say you can sell some of the packet , in the written rules this is against the law.
They won't send you anything by mail, that confirmes what they have said to you.
They won't really explain how they are able to
give you and other special chosen persons a big credit ... they just want people to come down to Florida to tell about the holiday-form later at home.

I hope to hear some different- travel-experiences with this company... looking forward to it.

Many kind regards -- and cheer up !!!

Summer bay resort - package prize

I have also 'been had' by this offer and have following comments:
It is quite clear that the expression 'there no such thing as a free (business) lunch' applies to everything not paid for! A prize in a lottery is paid for by the lottery ticket.
The $3000 'prize' is a promotion stunt for time sharing dwellings for which you pay $898.- and you will get a 15 days reasonably well rebated stay in the co's or affiliated co's resorts. Take off the rental car deal and you pay $41.- per night incl cont breakfast (for up to 4 persons!). If the accomodation is good standard this must be a fair bargain. Also included is a return cruise to the Bahamas with a meal. I do not know whether the port fees taxes etc of $159.- per person are bona fide or not, if not they would probably have tried to add it to the up front payment of $898.-?
Compared to a time sharing (see ebay - summer bay resort) rental of between $375 and $400 a week, it does not become very exciting, but you get the car rental or theme park tickets two days at sea and 15 breakfasts a boring lunch thrown in (have your right arm in a tight sling so you can't sign anything!), so the only draw back is the long term advance payment. Anyway you can always bite the head of shame and make use of the 7 days 'changed my mind option' and according to their query dept, get a full reimbursement. Which I am seriously thinking of doing, as I would prefer to have time to 'thimk' about such deals and have a nagging suspicion that if I get the reimbursement I can always call them up at a later time and haggle out a similar deal!
Apart from the somewhat deceiving and aggresive (but kind) sales techniques I find this method of aqcuiring customers and bringing tourists to the US to be in order as long as the promises in the campaign are being fulfilled. As rightly mentioned in a Swedish website 'there is fool born every minute' or 'the last idiot has yet to be born' and if you are not swindled out of your money I cannot see anything illegal about it. But in the future I am going to state a sudden urgent need to hang up (toilet,) ask for a tel no to possibly call back (using Skype, which is 'free' if you have a subscription) after I have made a thorough check up. There is no need to fall in the trap (which I did) of losing your 'prize' if you do not answer on the spot. They are under pressure to sell and are only using such threats to keep you on the line and stop you from looking them up in complaints sites such as this one. If you call back they are going to make a little bit of noises 'you're time has expired and bla bla' which will quiten down once you show you are willing to buy!
Good luck with your reimbursement, call the reservation no they gave you and ask for query and complains dept.. and keep cool all the way! If you decide to make use of the offer, do write about your experiences, which I am going to do!
