I have a older model from silver king. We have had it now for almost 30 years. It still works as well as the first day we got it. We have had several vacuum cleaner demonstrations over the years and our old trusty silver king always comes out on top. It was expensive to buy, however, after 30 years of solid use two to three times a week, it is truly one of the best buys we ever made. I can't say anything for their marketing but their product is amazing.

I've had my Blue Max for about a week now, Im in complete love with it! My house smells better, picking up tons of sand out of my carpets, this machine rocks. I dont see why people would come on here and complain?? You can go to a dealer ship and pay the sticker price or maybe your good enough to get the price down a little. Either or, this machine at the end of the day is worth every penny that we paid. $2,975 plus tax, the guy gave us $300 of, and even took our old vac. becuase after he showed us everything, I personally didnt want it anymore. I also feel suckered into dysons pitch, i dont think there machines do a good job at all. I have always cleaned my canister out. And the blue max made it look like it wasnt even plugged in. After getting all the skin out of our chouches, we were pretty grossed out, and then my wife took the machine and did our mattress, we got probably about 4lbs of skin, it filled the machine twice. We just bought a new mattress yesterday becuase of that. I dont know of any other machine on the market that can do anyhing like that. between picking up stains out of the floor to cleaning hard wood floors. we like the machine so much, i even use it at work to clean my office. I guess in life you really do get what you pay for, and for us, we are getting a clean house. What really made me buy it, was the 2 generation lifetime warrenty, its better than Snap on, or any tool you can buy. This will be passed onto my children.......well, sooner or later. But its not going to be sooner.

I bought a Blue Max Air 2000 6 months ago. I paid about $3000, and it was the best investment I ever made. I love how it cleans. I couldn't believe all the junk it's sucked up out of my house. My carpet feels and looks SO much cleaner. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

About 2 months ago my wife and I had a silver king man come to our house to show us a blue max. ( I'm not sure what everyone else " fell for" ? We were told on the phone we'd get gifts for just watching, which the man in our house said at the door and what did winde up happening). He cleaned a bunch of things in our house and at the end asked us if we wanted to know the price. Of course we said yes. The price seemed pretty steep at the time so we said no, but I really liked the product. So I decided to go online and find some info on it, when I found a hardly used blue max for a fifth the price on eBay. I showed my wife, and once the man left we bought it. Awesome find right? Wrong! When we got it in the mail we immediately turned it on and it STUNK. Now, after only 3 uses it already doesn't work. To make it worse we cant get our money back for the "hardly used" machine. Now we have to go back to using our lousy bissell until we can get a blue max again. In hinde sight, it probably would have been safer to spend a little more to get a new one with a warranty. Live and Learn.

OK, we fell for it too. The way they get into your house for the demo is totally disingenuous. Air purification system? Nope, it's a vacuum. I have to admit it is an amazing vacuum. I've had 5 years to question our purchase - I've gone from kicking myself in the butt to being pretty happy with the decision. The salesman was really good at what he did. As other reviewers have noted, he did change the filters often....very often, but we have not noticed the meager performance mentioned by other reviewers if the filters are not changed often. As a matter if fact, my wife doesn't change the filter until the unit is full and the hose is beginning to back up, and the vacuum still performs better than any one we've ever owned. We've owned many vacuums purchased at Wal-Mart or Target and we'd get a year or so out of them until they were shot. The Silver King still functions like new after 5 years. The motor is strong, the hose hasn't ripped, the wheels still roll smooth, and the cleaning head is still on the original belt. It is a superior machine. Is it worth what they are asking for it? The salesman originally quoted $3000 - we wound up paying $1700. Still a hefty price tag but if it lasts us for 20 years (which judging by it's construction and performance over the first 5 years it should) then it was well worth the money. We were offered the vacation and the shopping spree. Looked like a pain to use so we never even tried, but that's not why we agreed to the demo - we had a child who suffered from breathing problems and thought it might be a good idea to take a look. Did it solve his breathing problems? Probably not. Is our house cleaner, yes. Does my wife love me more? Absolutely!

In short, Silver King should be more upfront about why they're in your home, definitely deceptive. If you asked me if I was happy with my purchase 4 1/2 years ago, I'd tell you I'd been suckered. Ask me today, I'd do it again. If you buy Snap-On Tools, you'll know what I mean when I say this is Snap-On quality.

Got a call that purported to be a health survey from CB Research and a few days later they called back asking if they could use us for market research. They said they would show us a presentation on an air purifying product and we would have to fill out a questionnaire about it. We said yes. An hour into the presentation, which was a hard sell for a vacuum cleaner and clearly had nothing to do with market research, I had this thought: How can I trust anything this company tells me when they started the relationship by lying to me? Did not buy the vacuum.

I bought my Blue Max a few months ago. I can't believe the previous post on this site and HAD to say something. I've been using my Blue Max twice a week for the last 4 months and I cannot believe how clean my home has been. My kids were getting sick a lot and my old vacuum (that I bought at Target, by the way) obviously wasn't doing a good job. I can't believe how much nasty junk the guy picked up in my home. It was a no brainer for us to invest in one. We figured that our refrigerator and washer and dryer cost a few grand, so why shouldn't our cleaning system cost about the same amount too. Yes, you can buy cheaper machines to clean your home, but it won't be CLEAN. I think I've tried all the brands you can buy at the stores, and NONE OF THEM WORK! I mean, that's why you buy a vacuum in the first place, right? TO CLEAN! With it's lifetime warranty, this will be the last machine we will have to buy to clean our home. Over the last few years I have bought 3 vacuums, a dustbuster, a swiffer vac, a shop vac, a oreck air purifier, a spot bot(for our dog stains) and a steam cleaner. The Blue Max will replace ALL of these for us. My home has never been cleaner, and my kids allergies have nearly disappeared. I plan on referring my friends and family to get a Blue Max too. Silver King has a REALLY COOL referral plan, and I plan to get a new IPAD when my 16 referral demos get run. I already have 3 people lined up buy Blue Max's. I have NO affiliation with Silver King except being a happy customer. We also used the vacation package they gave us and it was great. We chose to not use the Gift Certificate, but since it was FREE, we didn't care.
Also, the guy who sold it to us, was great. He answered all of our questions and he really knew his product. I am thrilled that a machine like the Blue Max is made in the USA. My husband is an engineer and was REALLY impressed on how well the Blue Max is built. Their A rating on the BBB sure didn't make our decision to get one a hard decision. It just made sense.
The last guy who posted on here will be very happy 30 years from now when his Blue Max is still going strong. Maybe then he will think he got his money worth. I know I already do.

My wife and I fell for the sales pitch as well. The in-home demo was great and made us go for the purchase of an Air 2000 for $2400. How could we have lived our lives so far without this AMAZING machine (sarcasm). We now have HUGE buyer's remorse after making the purchase. We now realize, after using the Air 2000 for a while, it is a good vacuum, but not $2400 good. After realizing I can buy a new stainless fridge, oven, microwave, and dishwasher package locally here in Fort Collins, Colorado for about $1000(!) less than we paid for the Air 2000, it really makes us realize what HUGE SUCKERS we were for falling into the trap. Save your money and buy a good vacuum from Target or similar, which will still do a fine job, and save yourelf a TON of money. We would do the same if we were able.

OK, I let them in. Fell for the ruse. My wife was not happy with me AT ALL! She just got home from a trip & hasto deal with a Vacuum salesman first thing. Well we bought the Blue Max & I had immediate buyers remorse. Ended up paying 2575.00 for it. Well, my wife just called me after cleaning our house. She was amazed & extremely impressed with the machine. She has not been pleased with the Kirby for some time. I still have buyers remorse, but she is loving the Blue Max. I'm at least greatful that the machine is good.

My wife and I received the (Phone Call) and both realized we like free stuff, so why not, sure we can sit through a demonstration…. Upon his arrival with a box of stuff, the greetings took place and he went to work on our 2 year old carpet. I told the sales associate I needed to use the restroom. Once I was away on my own I decided to research Silver King. It landed me here to this site blagger.com. After reading the other comments, I was a bit concerned. Once we received our free stuff about $500.00 worth, I told my wife we do have 3 days to deny. She only agreed to purchase the unit because our 20 month old son had been hospitalized for breathing issues, 15 times in the past 6 months. We purchased our unit about 4 months ago for $3000.00, our son has not had to visit any hospital, nor use one of those oxygen tanks since!!! Best cash I ever spent. I am happy to provide my e-mail address if you have any doubts in the service this product brought to my family… Nateandmicah@yahoo.com

My wife had "the call" a couple of days ago. My wife answered a survey about pets and allergies. Then she got another call about having won a $500 shopping spree online, but we had to provide feedback (like a mini focus group) for a new air purification system. On the third call, when "they" set up the appointment to get our feedback, I answered the telephone and found out that we had also won a vacation getaway, which the caller told me had nothing to do with any timeshare. The mini focus group was supposed to last about thirty minutes. The presentation started about 8:30PM. It ended about two hours later near 10:30P.M. The air purification system was in truth the Silver King, Blue Max, Air 2000 vacuum cleaner. The price quoted was about $3200 minus a $100 "tonight only" discount minus a $200 offer on our present vacuum cleaner. We declined. The salesman took his vacuum to his car and returned with the news that he had called his manager and had been informed that he could offer us the vacuum for about $2000. Wheee! But we declined and got the $500 shopping spree for which we have to pay shipping on anything we buy and the vaction which DOES include a timeshare presentation. Such a naughty, bad and dirty company they are -- deceitful, overpriced and intrusive.

I used to work for Kirby a while back and thought they were a very good vacuum, but while I worked there when we found out that our "leads" had Silver King's/Blue Max, we avoided them. It was pretty much common knowledge in our office that the Blue Max machines were the best on the market. So much that when I got older and had a family, I requested a demo and bought a Blue Max. I've now had it for years and couldn't be more happy. It is the smartest investment I've ever made. A clean home is VERY important to me and my family deserves the best. Please take my advice and invest in one too. It's well worth it. By the way, this is the ONLY site knocking this product. Google "Kirby complaints or Rainbow complaints" and you'll find hundreds of site hammering those.

So we got sucked in by the wonderful presentation of the Blue Max about 6 months ago. We were not impressed with their sales tactics, but thought the product was great. We were so excited to use it and use it!!! Last month, Kirby sales reps were in the neighborhood and I just wanted to compare. Interesting enough, the Kirby was sucking up in its presentation as much dirt as the Blue Max had 5 months previous. I was perplexed I had been using our Blue Max almost daily since we bought it. As I watched, I realized that they were changing out the demonstration filters constantly, and then remembered the Blue Max sales guy did the exact same thing. I change my filters regularly, but not every 30 seconds - once the filters get even mildly used, the vacuum just starts working like any ordinary vacuum. Last week, we replaced some of our carpet. When they pulled up the carpet and padding - there was just as much dirt there as other houses we've lived in, replaced carpeting, and didn't have the "wonderful" Blue Max. I've realized this product is not worth the cost - just a bunch of smoke and mirrors in the presentation. We'll keep it only because we spent so much money, but if you're researching - save your money and buy something affordable. The Blue Max is nothing special.

I bought a Blue Max by Silver King a couple of weeks ago and I can't believe how good of a machine it is. I cannot be more satisfied with the Blue Max or our demonstrator. He was NOTHING but professional and courteous. I have had numerous demos on many different items and this was the best I've ever seen. I can already see a difference in how clean my home is. I would highly reccommend this to ANYONE who cares about a clean home. I have contacted many of my friends and am going to see if I can get them to see a demo as well. I am happy to invest my money in a local company that makes a quality product. It is leaps and bounds more efficient than our old Dyson (which we were happy to trade in).

I used to sell Silver King's a long time ago (they put me through college) and I had to post one here after reading the last post. It wasn't there sales practices that was the problem, it was that you made a poor decision. I'm amazed that you posted that they gave you TWO BRAND NEW vaccuum cleaners and you still came on here to complain. It also wasn't their fault that you probably chose to overnite the machine back to them for $155 when it costs about $40 to ship one cross country UPS ground. You would have got a receipt confirmation and a tracking number for it. So basically it cost you $155 for two new vacuum cleaners. Sounds like you made out well. Why bash them on here and post that you can buy cheaper one's on Ebay? One's on Ebay aren't brand new and don't come with warranties. You should never buy a used vacuum, period. Someone else could have used it for anything.... and you would never know. What if it was used in a meth house, or something like that. The problem with sites like this is that anyone can post anything without reprocussions. Smarten up and make better decisions and quit blaming other people for your poor choices.
