Wentworth did a good job for me considering that my credit staus wasn't exactly perfect. I had been running around everywhere looking for a loan and wentworth found the solution to my problems.
I'm going to pass their details onto my friend who is also looking for a loan because i feel they will be able to help her as well.
I think they deserve a positive review from me because they've done a good job.
I got very concerned about using brokers as I could not see how the whole thing worked. Wentworth were brilliant. They told me that they would search for a loan for me and that if they were unsuccesful they would refund my fee. Two weeks later I had an offer of a £2000 loan which is what I wanted. Over the next four to five weeks I was offered several loans through Wentworth Companies which was quite a relief as I thought my credit rating was quite bad. I would warn people not to go directly to lenders as they keep a record of every application ven if they do not offer you a loan. Make 3 or more applications and youn will be blacklsted for at least a month.
I will soon be writing, with the help of the Financial Ombudsman, to Wentworth Direct Finance asking for my money back. I have kept the voicemail which tells me, and I quote, "that your loan application for £2,000 with Wentworth Direct Finance has been accepted and APPROVED". Now doesn't approved tell you that you will be getting the money or am I not speaking English!?!?!? I called back and ran through the details with Gavin, he told me, that, indeed, I had been APPROVED for a loan of £2,000 - never once did he mention they had to 'search the market for me'. Anyway, and yes I know I maybe stupid, I agreed to pay the fee of £69.00. Gavin told me that I would receive the terms & conditions a form to sign and return. He emphasised not to sign and return the form until I had read their terms and conditions and was happy with the details. The details being loan of £2,000 over 2 years paying £97.50 per month. Well you probably know the rest by now if you have already read about this company. I didn't receive a letter with said details nor their terms & conditions, I only received a form to sign with regard to the £69.00 together with a spreadsheet showing loan amounts and possible repayments. I have now received a letter from Capital First Loans UK in association with Ralph Marlon Ltd (Personal Loans), the letter says that I have been referred from Wentworth Direct on PROVISIONAL APPROVAL - well excuse me but Gavin told me I had been APPROVED!!! Once I have completed this form they will then process my details and submit to their lenders - is this not what I've paid Wentworth to do. I'm stopping the process and phoning the Financial Ombudsman tomorrow for help in writing a letter for the return of my £69.00
The loan was approved and was paid out with Wentworth recently. I was dissapointed when i was not offered payment protection with one of their lenders. Apparently one of their sales staff wasn't doing their job properly.Apart from that everything was fine. The APR was ok. Think i'll get payment protection if i apply with them again.
My loan ref is WDF661049 I returned the required documentation two weeks ago and have heard nothing since. i have spent a considerable time on the phone endevouring to contact an advisor and emailed the company but have been unable to contact anyone or had a response
I just wish i had heard of Wentworth Direct Finance earlier. I had had previous problems with getting a loan because of my credit rating so i thought why not give Wentworth a try. The application process was quite straight forward and i'm more than happy with my loan. I would definitely reccomend them to a friend.
Well we are a few days down the road and low and behold we have heard nothing back from Wentworth!!! We have continued to try and call them and nothing!!!
I am now undertaking steps to get our "administration" money back!! My solicitor has written a letter and is being posted today, lets see them ignore that!!
Next update will hopefully give some more info ......
Wentworth Direct Finance prey on those who are desperate for financial aid and they should be put out of business!
Unfortunately I too applied for a loan through their company and have ever since been bombarded with numerous phone calls from various other finance companies, text messages etc.
Initially I applied for a loan of 7.500 pounds, today I received a letter from FLM (who are linked to Wentworth Direct Finance) offering me a 3,000 pounds loan (erm..this is not what I asked for) plus they require a guarantor which also wasn't part of the Wentworth package. And I have also received a letter from Ralph Marlon, another company part of the Wentworth family offering the amount I have applied for but also requiring a guarantor.
I'm taking legal action and hope no one else pays this company any more fees.
I am not yet sure about this company this is the first place that I have seen positive feedback on them.....my partner applied for a loan online and got a call from Wentworth offering "blah blah blah!" My partner told them that he would need to see something in writing, and he was sent a letter telling him that he had been successful in an application and had to pay £55 administration fees which he duly did!! He was then told it would be 5-10 working days and we are on day 7 and nothing has been sent and when we tried calling we were on hold for 2 and 3/4 hours!! premium number!! only to be cut off!!!
So unless we hear something in the next couple of days we will be taking this further to get our money back!!
Please if you are a genuine customer let me know your experience with regards to this company have we been had???????
I was perfectly happy with the service Wentworth had to offer me. I applied online to their website. I thought the website was colourful and attracted me to apply. I did have to pay a brokers fee, and I did get the loan through one of their lenders. I found them very helpful indeed.
the employees of the company were polite and helpful for three months then two months back they stopped being polite and now they do not answer their phoines and the fax line doesn't answer either, so it appears the comopany must be in trouble, I hope not
I applied in Nov 08 and sent a payment of 50 pounds on basis that 45 was refundable if they could not get a loan in four months, it is now been 5 months and I cannot get them to answer their phones, this after doing everything they advised about dealing with lenders they had call me and after I formally in writing requested my 45 pounds back so now I am dealing with the ombudsman
