i was a AA customer for a long time and in my contract was said that they repair any breakdown cover up to £500 so I had a problem and it would not even cost £100 and I contacted them and they adviced me to take car to garage and the garage MUST call them!!!i took to 4 garage and no one agreed to call to AA becuase they are not AA agent and is not their business to call to AA!!!that is ridiculousx how company cheats and uses people, make them believe that they are what we are looking for and behind our back they create rules that do not have any logic!!
Daughters car broke down on the inside lane of a 40mph dual carrigeway. The AA deemed it to be a ''live lane'' & told her to phone the police to ask them to move it to a safe location.
Police told her it was safe for recovery & even when she & the police told the AA, the AA would not attend.
They say they are only allowed to assist when the vehicle is out of the traffic flow also they are not allowed to attend ''live lane'' incidents without the express permission of the relevant authorities.
I'd have thought most roads mean it would not be out of the traffic flow!!
They also do not record such calls, only log them against the initial request. This means they do not have a full record of what was said!!
They do not tell people this in their adverts!!
Even an AA patrol man was surprised that they didn't attend!
Cost of local company was £150 vat.
Other companies have assured us they would have attended.
our car broke down whilst camping in Devon, the head gasket blew.
The AA man spent over a hour diagnosing the problem and trying to find a local garage to get it fixed.
With no avail they relayed the car back to castleford yorkshire overnight and we had our local garage repair the car ready for when we got home.
The AA man arranged for a cheap hire car to be sent to us £20 a day !
The service was far beyond what I could have expected and the AA saved our kids holiday !
