I booked an appointment for a quote for 2 bay windows, 1 small window and a front door with weatherseal. Communication from customer service was good and they phoned to confirm that appointment would be kept. Salesman arrived late, we told him we weren't intersted in the sales patter we just wanted a quote. We had to sit through nearly an hour of spiel, while my autistic son complained that he wanted his dinner. Again we asked him to get to what we wanted to know. Lots of phone calls to his office, re discounts etc. He quoted us £10.800, we obviously refused this. Another phone call back to the office and he then quoted is £5184. We had already explained that we had other people coming in and that we would not be signing today, so we could compare quotes. He slagged off other glazing companies, told us if we didn't sign today, we would not get the discounted quote. He then went off with the hump taking the over inflated quote paperwork with him. To make matters worse, there is no way of complaining to them via there website, which is ridiculous. Sadly the windows they showed us did look good, it all sounded very impressive but we felt that he was over zealous in his sales patter. Instead of taking the measurements, then discussing how we could save money if we went through there home feature programme, and then gave a figures, he started with the feature programme and the measuring was a last resort. The stupid thing is if there product is as good as we are lead to belive, why could they not hold the discounted quote for 7 days. They may well have been given the job. He told us the original quote was for a year, but he took that with him. I thought companies had moved on from this sort of practice.
i bought 7 windows and 1 door from them in dec. 2009 and have had nothing but problems since day 1, the draughts and heat loss is terrible, but they keep saying there is nothing wrong with them,i even sent photos of water droplets within the window seals, but they still persist in saying there is nothing wrong, my heating bills have quadrupled since i got these windows and door fitted, i am sorry i would not recommend weatherseal to anybody
I had a visit today from a weatherseal salesman who after three hours of useless information I asked for a final price for a porch after some very haphazard measuring all I got was a suppose price when I pressed for a final price all I got was a load of bull about discounts ect. and if I decided to go ahead today I would get an unbeatable price I told him I would not being deciding today at which he said he had to phone his manager.By this time I had lost patience and told him that I had dealt before with a reputable double glazing company with not half the hassle that he was giving me at that point he called me a lier So I asked him to leave he then had to call his manager again by this time I was shouting at him to get out of my house eventually I managed to get him out of my house his parting words to me were f--- you as he left smashing his large sample bag into my glass door then my car damaging the mirror needless to say I will never now or in the future deal with weatherseal
Weatherseal did a really nice job for me yesterday. 4 windows and a set of french doors. Totally transformed my house as i had aluminium windows before. The sales rep Raj was very helpful. Give them a call for a quote !
Having had my own windows done by Weatherseal in the past, I recommended them to a mate who moved into an old house this year. He went ahead and got them to do the job, as he knows how good mine are, and how little hassle I had.
He had the windows fitted just in time, a day or two before all the ice and snow started, and he reckons he owes me a pint or two for putting him to Weatherseal when I did.
i got some windows and doors from weatherseal earlier this year just had my conservatory done i loveit!!!! it has just opened up my sitting room feel like your sitting out in the garden full of snow but loveley and warm in my connie love it xx
anyone in edinburgh be aware of anyone from feature homes or weatherseal they are not what they seem i know as i have worked for them and quit when i saw who they targeted they pressured several over 84 year olds and played on them being disabled to push through sales and they dont give you a good deal its a con yes the products are good but you are actually being ripped of so they can get a guy to youre door they acually use an automated dialer and dial them over and over they say youre postcode area has been given the chance to have youre windows at no cost to youre self its not true its a trap everyone in edinburgh should get tps to stop them contacting you if youre registered report them and if youre sick of them contacting you they are based in granton unit 7 but complain to there main office for better results i know they con as i was one who worked there and quit because of there bad targeting of the sick and old
"If you could have doors and windows fitted to your home at no cost to yourself, how many would you change" !!!!
If I hear this one more time, I am going to go mad. If anyone from WEATHERSEAL looks at this can you PLEASE stop phoning me.
I have written, complained, been rude when they have called for the 3rd time in one week. Yet, tonight as I have my tea, there goes the phone again.
I do not want their windows, I do not want their doors, I just want to be left in peace. What they are doing is bordering on harassment. I think I will take legal action for stalking !!!!!
PS. my daughter works for a double glazing company and they dont behave like this.
I have worked here for sometime, and know this place and the industry inside out.
in short, potentially excellent product! INSANE sales reps with absolutely ridiculously expensive prices and the worst of worst ways of dealing with potential customers.... misleading lying abusive threatening heartless and pray on the old and vulnerable,
most of the folk at weatherseal are genuine, honest lovely people. doesn't stop me wanting to warn every single person in the UK off using any of there products or services and also any of their sister companies,
the man in the driving seat has no idea about running a successful business this is evident in the amount of times weatherseal has closed its doors and re-opened overnight as another company trading as weatherseal..... clean break we say, new start.... lets start a fresh do it the right was.... lasts for 4-6 weeks then the greed kicks in again and we're back to the same old borderline criminal carry-on.
like I say fantastic product no doubt, but you can buy better for much much much less. I did!!!!
ignore this at your own peril! I have made, surveyed managed fitted and sold double glazing its in my blood and my bones I really do know the industry inside out.
please please please steer clear for your own sanity, stress levels and bank balance.
hope I've helped.
soon to be ex-employee (my choice and for the better)
As i have already said i am very angry regarding with the lack of respect the general public have for weatherseal. This company has been running for a very long time, so people in the U.K support Weatherseal. Perhaps there is a minority that aren't happy with the work thats been done for them but I'm quite sure that if handled properly the company will gladly put things to right. On the grander scale of things the majority are more than happy with the company.
Work just finnished on my windows and job well done.Called three weeks ago when I seen the tv ad on.Spoke to a man named sean who talked me through the promotion. After asking all the questions I had thought it sounded too good to be true bit still decided to get a representative round for a quote.Kenny came round the same day and showed us all the samples took measurements.I thought one hour into the presentation it was long enough so asked for a price.Kenny was happy to get the calculator out and price up there and then and left us with the quote no pressure at all.Got two other companies round who tried and tried to make us sign and stayed for over two hours pushing for a sale.Phoned weatherseal again told Kenny we wanted to go ahead with his quote on Monday fully fitted by the following Tuesday (12 windows 2 doors).Would recommend to friends and family.
My overall expirience with Weatherseal has been poor, the installation of my windows was adequate but they did fit a couple of damaged items that they had to replace (a facia and a sill). After the installation was done I started to receive phone calls from them, lots of them, 17 in the space of 5 days asking if I wanted to replace my doors. Despite telling them I didn't they continued calling, the only thing that has stopped them was as soon as they say Weatherseal I just hung up. It is worth mention the price of the windows, I had all mine changed, their starting price was £12000 and I actually payed £4000, how can a company drop £8000? More interestingly I recomended a friend to them and was present when the salesman came around to do his pitch, my friend only had 4 windows to get changed, less than half I had changed, and they wanted to charge him £4000 (started at £10000), imagine the salesmans face when I told him what I had been charged, he finally came in with a figure of £2400. On last thing, they say they will only be an hour, they usualy take at least two, do as I do with any salesman, give them a time limit, everyone gets 45 minutes, if it can't be sorted out in that time, send them away, put the pressure back on the salesman.
done all my windows and doors with this company a few years back no problems wot so ever the lady came out measured up went through styles ect left me with a price no pressure.after looking around and getting quotes weatherseal was the best so i went ahead with the work am also in the process of having a conservatory bring on the summer thanks weatherseal
Their fast track service is brilliant. Beats the waiting around for ages while they sort things out. It actual;y worked out cheaper for us because we ordered online and got the extra 5% off our order nad we already had something like 40% off our conservatory to start with. We managed to get the price down a bit when the sales rep came round to talk about what we wanted too. There was a tiny problem with one of the seals on the windows after they left but I when I spoke to customer services they sent someone out a couple of days later to sort it out. I was impressed by their service.
I just signed up to weatherseals Fast Track service online and got a call from one of their reps atraight away.
I’m getting half off my windows and doors with an extra 5% coz I signed up online. I really don’t thing that many places can beat a price like that. Plus they are coming out next week to do the job – really quick. Im really happy with this price and service so far.
I will post again when the job has been done and it will hopefully be as good as everything so far!
i have used this company for all the work i have needed over the last few years and can honestly say no problems wot so ever the product and service is great wouldnt go anywhere else
Cannot believe some off the comments on this website!!!!!
Weatherseal were recommended to me by my mother who had her double glazing done, the job Weatherseal did for my parents was fantastic, so much so i had my windows front and back done, what a fantastic job, i cannot fault what they did for me i had other quotes but Weatherseal were by far the best quality.
Boy am i glad i chose Weatherseal.
I moved into my house 3 months ago, i needed new windows and doors. I recieved a call at tea time from a lovely young lady from weatherseal advising me that i could have a quotation with discounts. That I did, and im so glad I did, my lovely windows, two doors and conservatory look fantastic....im the envy of the street. Thankyou weatherseal, you`ve done a great job, im sure all my neighbours will be calling you to have the same.
Had a phone cold call and as I wanted a quote for fascias and guttering, arranged an appointment. The salesman came across initially as being just a useless salesperson, but quickly it became clear I was going to get a hard pressure sell. I said within 10 minutes of him arriving that I wasn't going to place an order on the day. After an hour of tedious irrelevant stuff and a very unprofessional measuring, he gave me a price. As a quote was all I wanted and it was becoming clear I was now going to be pressured into taking the great 'discounts' available if I ordered today I repeated that I wouldn't be buying anything on the day as I always get other quotes to compare. I had the repeat his over a dozen times to no effect. I then politely asked him to leave. It took a further 15 minutes at least by which time I had raised my voice and was shouting for him to get out of my house pointing at my open front door. He still refused to get off the sofa until he had phoned his manager. Eventually he finally left. I would hate to think of the effect this kind of sales technique would have on an elderly couple who were not as able to demand him to leave as I was. Appalling. Don't ever accept an appointment from anyone to do with this company as the sales pitch is a con from the start and also utterly immoral. Disgusted.
i recently moved in to a house the front was d/g but the back was s/g u could really feel the drafts from the back so i had a few quotes.a friend reccommended weatherseal,so a guy came out measured the windows went through designs ect then came the price compared with the others i had it was fab so i signed up.the work did take a week longer then expected but better than a shabby 5 min job couldnt be happier with them am thinking doors next year

The comments left by 1966 I would be warey of as on the Space Kitchens page he has said he works for them.
I'm sure someone who works for the group would not leave a negative comment.
I don't wish to affect the blagger rating for Weatherseal therefore no rating, however please bear this in mind.
