Does anyone know if it is still possible to contact 'Homeserve' for the guarantee of a suite bought from the Oldham store?
I have the 'Elite Cover' on my suite that has now started to come apart at the seams on the backrest of the settee, (not a usual area of wear and tear!)
I have the cover document but there is no address or contact number on it.
Any info appreciated.

I bought a leather suite about 12 years ago from the shop floor and when it was delivered it was damaged getting it through my door. I must add that before I left the shop the sales staff would not let me leave without buying insurance at a cost of £250.00. I was bullied into it. When it was delivered I reported the damage straightaway. Someone came round and cut out a piece of leather "for a match" on my recliner and three days later I had a letter saying that they would not repair it as it was sold as seen. It was not sold as seen because it was done whilst they delivered it. Anyhow I did not see anything for my insurance money. They really have bad customer service. Anyway 12 years later I was stupid enough to go to their sale Dec 08 and picked a suite which I was not sure of the sizing so I asked if I could go home and measure it - whereupon the assistant said yes and encouraged me to leave a deposit but I said if it does not fit can I choose an alternative. He said yes. Anyway I got home and measured and went back and said it would not fit can I change and they said only at the Manger's discretion. I went to see the Manager and after waiting for a very long time (as another blagger said) they were too busy running around getting commission and raising finance from their finance company from other customers. After a long period the manager said I could only change to a suite that cost the same or more but nothing thats cheaper. Whaaaat! how can they demand that - they are a shop not some TV game show. Then the company went into administration. I have not had my questions answered after emailing writing and phoning and I don't see how this company can run like this....its no wonder they've gone bust -they do not deal with people in a fair and proper manner and are very very rude to people who are spending their own money. I hope their administrators are much fairer. I really would not recommend this company at all.
