I had a kitchen installed by Kitchens Direct about 11 years ago. The pipework under the kitchen sink is diabolical, I have to have a bucket under there to catch the water, when I open the cupboard over my hob the cupboard next to it opens as well!!! the door on the cupboard over my hob is out of alignment at the bottom. I have a corner cupboard where I keep my pots and pans and this door falls off practically every time I open the cupboard!! They make me sick when they say the installation is project managed, yeah right, my backside is project managed!!! I would not have Kitchens Direct anywhere near my house again. When I sort out my kitchen I will go to Homebase who have an award winning installation team. The salesman who came to see me about the kitchen made me think I was going to have an absolutely fantastic kitchen!! not the case. I just hope these people are taken to task.

if you are looking to buy a kitchen, be warned do not purhcase from kitchens direct. They started ours on the 12th feb. it is not finished and the customer care is the worst we have experienced.
we have felt the need to go to the furniture ombudsman and watchdog!!

hi all, i worked 4 this company for 2yrs a while back, and in that space they changed their name 3times, i worked in the complaints dept, an i really do know were ur all coming from, i had to take these sort of calls everyday and 50 calls aday.. we were only aloud to send so many items a day, so basically 1st come 1st served if u get my drift.......my advise is,, the ONLY way you will get your missing or damaged kitchen pieces is to go to the mill itself.. maple mill cardwell st oldham..
nothing is EVER rectified callin up the customer service dept.

We ordered a kitchen from Kitchens Direct last March. We paid a deposit and the rest in full when it was delivered. This was our 2nd biggest mistake our 1st one was having anything to do with Kitchens Direct at all. When the so called kitchen fitter came to install it it turned out to be nothing like the one which was sold to us, it was the flimsiest kitchen carcass one could imagine probably about £300 to £400 pounds worth and as he proceeded to badly assemble it I decided to ask him to stop, gather his tools and leave. By this time we were left with damaged kitchen walls where their ''so called electricians'' had yanked electric cables from the walls leaving open tracks with blown plaster hanging and all the power points hanging out of the wall boxes and a cooker connected with with the polarity wrong. The so called units would not fit in to the length of the kitched ,they were too long for the run so the ''so called kitchen fitter'' decided to cut the end one down to fit .By this time we noticed that he had also fitted a power point under the kitchen sink below the water trap level.Despite all the electrics being left in the aboue mentioned condition a certificate arrived to say it was properly done .We were then visited by Kitchens Direct Project Manager who agreed that the breakfast bar unit could not in any way be able to support a granite worktop and that some of the cabinets were bowed even when empty and that the kitchen would have to be partly ''re-designed''
He then wrote a statement of the facts as he saw them which we refused to sign and he left .That was 4 months ago and since then we have been without a kitchen just a temporary sink which is now leaking and a garage full of the rest of their ''rubbish'' which we do not want fitted and is causing a complete nuisance trying to work around it.We just went them to take their ''rubbish'' away , not send any of their '' cowboys'' anywhere near us and give us our money back .We have reported them to Trading Standards and consulted a solicitor as to how we can proceed with this case. We have now recieved a letter from our solicitor saying that their Project Maanager said that all the work he saw was ''adequate'' and that the breakfast bar unit was strong enough to support a granite top, so much for his ''integrity'' as a man .
We would advise anyone to run a marathon away from anyone from Kitchens Direct, THEY HAVE A COMLPETELY THRASHY PRODUCT and employ the biggest bunch of subcontractor ''Cowboys'' you could find in the UK.
You would find better quality units in a car boot sale
