Yes Loans randomly took £69.50 from my account 10 weeks after my last contact with them which, as far as I was concerned, was just an enquiry. I, like many other people, did not give permission for them to take money from my account - indeed I do not have any recollection of being told anything about a £69,50 fee.
Many expensive long phone calls later and one recorded letter I managed to get a refund of £64.50.
In their "contract" you have up to 3 months to claim a refund (or cancel your agreement even if you think you have not made one).
I found out about the money leaving my account just within the 3 month time limit. If I had waited for my bank statement to come through I would have missed the deadline for a refund. Beware of this company.
My girlfriend was looking for a loan online a couple of weeks ago, she gave her bank details then started getting phone calls from loan companies.
My girlfriend got her ESA yesterday only to find that £69.50 has been taking from her account, we traced it down to a loan company.
We contacted the loan company and they said their was no evidence of her bank details on their accounts, after being passed from advisor to advisor, they had the nerve to say she put the false date of birth, she gave her correct date of birth that states she's 17 years old, they claimed she put the right year she was born but a different day and month, she was born in 1994 so either way, no matter what date of birth you put in with a year of 1994 it will still say your under 18 but apparently the details she gave states that shes 18.
We went to Citizen's Advice and he done what he can to help but still, nothing is being done about it and what makes it worse, she has a 2 year old child to look after and she is left with £6 to live on for the next 2 weeks.
I applied for a small loan last night with yes loans got all the rubbish they speak about being accepted for a loan with them congratulations you've been accepted for a loan we are so pleased for you were there Exact words, stupidlyI gave my bank details which I thought were to process my application only to be told that they were taking 69.50 from my account as a fee not once did I agree to this luckily I was overdrawn so this transaction could not go through she said 'don't worry your application will still go ahead well take the money out by friday' then the lady told me the loan company that I had been accepted by would be in touch within a couple of minutes, surprise surprise no phone call came, alarm bells were ringing by this point so I searched the Internet and found many bad comments regarding this company and also that the director was BANNED from directing a company for putting money from a previous company into his OWN personal bank account. After reading all these comments I rang back to say I had read all these comments and no longer wanted to go through with the loan was told by a very rude member of staff who kept raising her voice to me that if I wanted a refund I would need to write a letter as they were taking the money Friday (by which point they would have accessed my account and taken the fee so like many others on here I would be waiting for a refund that ever comes). Told her again as they had not found me a loan or in fact I had not even had a phone call I was not given them authorisation to take the money to which she replied 'we already have your bank details'.. They are not getting there hands on money I work damn hard for so today I have cancelled my card and reported them to the bank and the polices economic crime unit. Yes loans has rang me three times this morning to speak to me and all three times staff have been rude they call there selves a professional company but all they are is a bunch of cowboys paid to read a pre written speech over the phone and take your money. The last man I spoke to said I was not within my right to cancel payment as they had found me a loan company (who have yes you guessed it still not contacted me) and asked for bank details again Told him not interested and stop ringing he told me all about this company and asked if I really wanted to miss this opportunity so I said I'll lend the money from a family member instead of your cowboy company he said what's that going to do for your credit rating well for a start it's none of his business, secondly I don't have to use there company and thirdly I'll be 69.50 better off All I can say is do not use yes loans no matter how desperate you are.
Not surprisingly I spoke to my mum this morning and she in fact had used the very same company which I did not no she had the 69.50 taken from her account and even worse the card wad cloned and someone took every penny from her account she later got this back going through the proper channels but this is not the point.
hi i applied fot a loan from yes loans end of march 2011 n was told i had to pay 69.50 fee to be accepted i payed straight away and was told i would have my 1000 loan in 4/5 days it is now june and havent heard a thing from them .. i ring everyday and get cut off half way through the call. is there not anything we cn do about this company like start an online protest or report them WHOS WITH ME
Rather stupidly I too called Yes Loans, thankfully, I told them NOT to take any money from my bank account, however, I decided to cancel my card the following day just in case!! Glad I did after reading some of the reviews. Anyway, I was told they had a number of companies lined up who were interested in offering me a loan of £2,000 and that I would have no trouble being approved!!! After telling the guy on the phone, repeatedly, that I would not be paying a fee at present, he finally put me through to (what I think) was his Manager. He then rambled on about having a payday loan just to get me started on the small amount of home improvements I wanted to do - take £500 now and pay back £100.00 in 2 weeks then £525 (or something like that) the following week - "no way" I said, what if I don't get the loan and can't pay it back - "YES YOU WILL" he said - you will definately get a loan!!! 2 days later I receive a letter and application form in the post from FLM Loans who have approved me for not just £2,000 but £3,000 - then here comes the catch - I need a guarantor who is a home owner etc etc, and I need to supply their bank details (yeah right, like I'm going to do that). I was guaranteed an unsecured loan - surely this is a 'back door' way of securing the loan against somebody else (possibly their property)!?!?!?
Also just wanted to add another note - anybody reading this - stay away from Wentworth Direct Finance as well - another bunch of money grabbing blaggers!!!
I was looking at taking a loan out, and got contacted by yes loans, I told them right away I wasn't interested in a company that takes up front fee's!
The man was very aggressive after that I kept saying I wasn't interested. I hung up in the end, only to be bombarded with phone calls to my home and mobil by this man, who just rang and hung up or started breathing heavily down the phone! I rang the company back about this man his name was Aaron, and said that this was a case of harassment, the guy I spoke to knew right away who this person was and said he had done this kind of thing before! So not only do they steal money off people they also stalk them! This company needs to be shut down with immediate effect!
My wife has also been intimmidated by one operator at Yes Loans on the day that she advised then she wished to cancel her application, so much so that it made her cry whilst on the phone to the Yes Loans operator, Some thing must be done about this company and ask all of the people affected by the non return of the application acceptance fee to complain to the Office of Fair Trading as the company is in breach of the Consumers Contractors Regulation 1999 and are liable for a fine of £50,000 if in breach. This operating pratice must be stopped.
I had this issue with them... See, I was directed to them because of the lack of need with a guarantor (I only know my parents to be home owners and they wouldn't be happy with me taking out a loan!) and the one company they put my way not only wanted a guarantor but their bank details in case of my failed payment.
First, not a chance in hell am I going to fail payment, but I don't expect them to trust me. But under NO circumstances am I going to allow anyone to back me by giving their own bank details. What if they're ripped off? It's just not safe.
So anyway, after spending three hours or more in total over the course of a few days, not getting through to anyone, I finally wrote them a letter explaining the situation of my guarantor, the company wanting a guarantor's bank details, and that I had been given assurances that they would be processing my application immediately and that funds should be with me very soon after. I allowed them to take the money (which I was going to use to renew my passport as I need one to visit my brother while his ship's in dock for whatever reason) under the impression that I'd still have plenty of time. I stated that under their terms and conditions, since they hadn't helped me, I was entitled to my money back, and since they had left me short, I had to take out one of those payday things to cover myself.
Basically I said that, in essence, what I've done is given them money for a service they're not providing, and since the only reason why I'd ask them for a loan is because I need temporary help with money, giving money in return for no money just isn't on so please refund it instantly.
So far it's been a week, so I don't have as much cause to gripe as others on here do, but I do feel as though they've advertised themselves under false pretences.
I'd love nothing more than to be thanking them for digging me out of a tight hole, but... it's better to ask them to get their act in gear.
Yes Loans along with No Worries Loans have both ripped me off for £69.50. They both share the same address. It has been over the thirty days since receiving recorded letter of request to cancel application and after numerous calls to both companies
insisting they are breaking the law I have had no refund only staff lying and assuring me cheque has been sent or bank refunded, both of which is completely untrue. I cant believe OFT have renewed their licence to trade when it obvious they prey on vulnerable people and fraudently take money. Why have these and other companies alike not been stopped. It is diabolical.
I had a problem getting my £69.50 fee back from them,I went to the citizens advice bureau and they sent a mandate to them asking for my money to be refunded,1 week later i had a check in the post.
Am gutted!!! Have just read reviews after parting with my £69 fee!! So am now just waiting to get the run around when I don't recieve the paperwork. I feel so angry about this but when this does happen and if i dont get the refund asap I will certainly be following the advise posted by "toomanycooks" and reporting them to the Economic Crime Unit! Where you can report it to Action Fraud T: 0300 123 2040, under "advance fee fraud". Surely if enough people report them something will be done to stop this!
Guess what, i cancelled within 14 days and written to them, so been waiting for my refund. Suppose to be in within 30 days, today is the 30th day, no money, so i ring them and guess what "cheque lost in the post!" haha thats one of the most lame reasons in the world! have to wait til monday now as they don't sort things out on a weekend! hummmm seems my 69.50 is going to take abit longer to get back! Watchdog here i come!!!
lol! Just put in any details on the 'application' and u will be accepted! It's amazing these guys have not been shut down. About time the government shut down these money grabbing preying on those in debt companies. I guess there must be an abundance of people out there that are too stupid to realise that you don't pay money up front for a loan or promise of!!! Who is wanting the loan, you or them? My advice is to always 'test' a site by putting in a load of rubbish and see what comes back. Doesn't it make you feel happy knowing that your 60 odd pounds is lining the wallet of someone who is probably sat in their Porsche 4x4 laughing all the way to the bank. No of course not...so don't give them the satisfaction!!!!! think of other ways to save money and go without or get a second job etc etc. There are always ways. Money controls people and that's what they prey on. Be strong and don't let them take you for a ride....oh, and for those of you that have paid the fees already, please forgive the 'too stupid' comment above, because we all make mistakes but don't do it again!!!! :)
"I just wish to add that people who work for yesloans and are on the other end of the phone must have been trained how to word things to get someone to hand over there money and I wonder if they can all sleep right at night knowing that everything they say is a lie and they are taking money from people who are really in financial hardship!!!!!!"
I know two people that work at Yes Loans, and they have to in order to pay off their own terrible loans, that's our wonderful local economy.
My sister is one of them, and of course she feels bad about it. Even though the sales teams are told to continue with applications absolutely regardless of what a customer says, she has turned some away because she couldn't bring herself to make their situation worse. You can imagine how desperate some callers are; this is bottom of the barrel lending. If there was another way of paying her own debts she wouldn't work there. Unfortunately it's the unethical salespeople that stick it out and make the big money.
There still confused people below, so here's the advice about Yes Loans and similar services yet again:
The fee will be taken as soon as you give them your info. It's legal and you probably agreed to it even if you think you didn't!
That is a "brokerage fee" and you will be entitled to it back (minus £5) if you don't take a loan through them, regardless of if you are offered one.
Their business model relies on confusing you into giving up, but now the OFT has specifically required Yes Loans to pay you back within 30 days of your request by mail, due to an investigation into their practices. This is now part of their own T&Cs. Don't accept longer.
Calling anyone except sales can be tough and expensive. If you use the contact info on their site you can get them to call you, and you can cancel by post. http://yesloansuk.com/contact-Yesloans2.php
Don't let them keep your money! Just make sure you mail the right place within 2 weeks.
If anyone is still considering this or similar services, I don't want to seem patronising, but few people's lives are made better by a large 48 % APR loan. There is always a better way.
I made the mistake of going to Yesloans for a loan of course they accepted me for a loan of 3000 and affordable monthly payments of £114. Wow!I could not believe it and was so over the moon as my soon to be ex husband had just left me and my children in a financial mess. They said a lender had just come forward and all I needed to do was to pay the admin fee of £69.50 and then it can be processed. Had I not been very depressed and suffering with the extreme worry of how to straighten things out for myself and my children I would have wondered why it was so easy when I could not have got a loan any where else. They took the money over the phone using my debit card. And they reassured me that it paper work that I needed to sign to get my loan should be with me by the follow day or at the latest the day after all I need to do is to send it back to them asap and the money would be credited to my account within 48 hours of them getting the paper work. Few days later a letter did come asking me to sign stating i was requested to loan £3000 over 36 months and it asked me to sign it and send it back. Which I did. Few days later still no money in my account so I called them on the number given to me with the letter they sent out. After being in a line of calls waiting a hour to speak to someone i got disconnected as it came to my turn . I called back again and waited a further hour and half to be disconnected again. This time I went on there web site and got the number you phone to get a loan and called it, amazing! they answered within a few minutes. Then I explained I was already there customer that I had not had the money from the loan put into my bank account and I had sent the forms back, to which they said that the forms I signed was just the ones giving permission to take £69.50 from my account for them to be a broker for me and again said they are now sending out the forms for me to get my loan and to sign and that they would be with me in 3/4 days and if i get them back asap then it will be in my account within 48 hours. Another week went past no letter! I called again. This time it must have been lost in the post and they would be sending them again straight away of course 5 days later no letter so I went on the web and found this sight ! hmmmm I realised I had been had and that these people where just out to take money from people preying on vulnerable people who had no other places to turn too . I called them and challenged them saying what I had read and how they had cheated me to which a very rude lady on the other end said we are a broker we was paid by you to find you a loan not give you a loan, to which I said that they had made it sound like it was all set and all i had to do was pay the £69.50, I told them I wanted my money back she said that i had signed to say they could take it to which i reminded her they had took the money days before sending any paper work . I told her I had looked up and I was entitled to get my money less £5 , she said fine request it in writing to us. Now by reading what others had wrote I am sure I wont get it back. I just wish there was something I could do to stop others being taken for a ride Like them. I just wish to add that people who work for yesloans and are on the other end of the phone must have been trained how to word things to get someone to hand over there money and I wonder if they can all sleep right at night knowing that everything they say is a lie and they are taking money from people who are really in financial hardship!!!!!!
I applied for a loan from Yes Loan and the service I received was not a very good one – I gave them all my details of the loan amount I wanted £2000 as I wanted to go on holiday with my Son. They took all my details and stated that they would not take any money until I signed the agreement. NO AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED.
After they took my details they told me to hold and I was kept waiting for ages – they kept coming back to the phone saying sorry to keep you waiting you will be put through to someone soon.. I have now come to realise that they had no intentions of putting me through to customer services. When they were checking if I was still holding they were hoping that I had hung up.
On 7th October 2010 I checked my bank and Yes Loans had took £69.00 from my account - I have been ringing them from 9am to 8pm and have had no joy. From 9am all I got was there are 20 people in the queue so as yet I have not spoken to no one from Yes Loans.
I would really be grateful if you could advise me on what I can do – I really want to take them to court because they have stolen money from my account – Fraud.
-
will I be able to take them to court for stealing money from my account - I did not sign no agreement so surely this cannot be legal - I really hope you will be able to advised me - even if you can’t please email me and let me know - Yes loans should be stopped from doing things like this
I applied for a loan at yes lones - they said i would have to pay a fee of £69.00 - i asked them if i had to pay the fee if i changed my mind - they said if i dont sign the agreement money will not be taken from my account -i decided i did not want the loan anymore - on 7th October 2010 i checked my bank and Yes Loans had took £69.00 from my account - i have been ringing them from 9am to 8pm amd have had no joy. I would really be greatful if you could advise me - will i beable to take them to court for stealing money from my account - i did not sign no agreement so surley this cannot be legal - i really hope you will beable to advised me - even if you carnt please email me and let me know - Yes loans should be stopped from doing things like this
I have advised people over and over again: Do not start instructing solicitors or getting involved in tornadoes of correspondence. Go to the police (Economic Crime Unit) and make a complaint of Deception. I dealt with a so-called loan company in Bournemouth by this means, and the directors were given 18 months each. No more Consumer Credit Licence for them! Don't be intimidated by the size of Yes Loans. Take them on.
i too wish i had seen this before wasting my hard earned cash on yes loans. i was told "great news" etc and even had a lady go through my payment plan. all i had to do was sign & return my paperwork & the money will be in my account in 24hrs! i even went on a little spending spree, spending cash i didnt really have! but yes youve guessed it, nothing. well i say nothing....ive been bombarded with calls,text,e-mails and in a moment of madness gave my visa details out again to some other company....another £59 gone and to cap it all, my card got cloned and was being used in beijing!
im normally very careful but i felt like i was getting nowhere and maybe got a bit desperate!!!
we phoned for aloan and told them we wanted to take it out over a 12 month period,we initially wanted 1500 quid,so they took the 69 quid, and we thought happy days the money will be in in the bank in a few days and thats it...not such.
we had a form come from them which stated we wanted to take it out over a 3 years period, and we needed a guarantor,we wasnt told this when we asked for the loan,so we phoned them. We was on the phone on a friday night for 2 hours and they cut us off by 8pm,so we tried on the saturday and after 3 and a half hours of waiting i managed to speak to someone, none the less i landed up swearing at him and shouting as he just kept saying ill transfer you to the customer care dept, which doesnt exist. When we finally got someone on the phone after that,it was a girl, who went on to tell to us that it wasnt them we took the loan out with, they passed our details to a third party company without us knowing and now we have to deal with them, this company isnt to be trusted, they take your money and thats it,and their after care service is non existent, and if they dont like what your saying they simply hang up on you.... need reporting to the FSA and trading standards.
oh no. guys all thes negative comments are making me mega worried. i have just contacted them yesterday and got a text to say i had been accepted and to call them asap.
i called them this evening when i got home from work and was please when the guy told me i had been accepted although a bit surprised that he said i had been accepted by two companies and i was going to get a short term loan from payday uk.
now without even thinking about it i have paid a £69.50 brokers fee and have commited myself to a £300 loan for which i will need to pay back £375.
if this goes the same way as all these other comments, this is going to ruin me. what should i do? should i wait it out and hope for the best or should i try to cancel this £69.50 fee and see if there is anyway i can cancel this £300 loan?
the £300 is due to go into my bank tomorrow.
please tell me someone has had a good experience with this company. if they are doing this to people then how can they get away with it. surely it is illegal?
I've recently bought a new home and had about 6 searches on my credit file in the process so I knew my file was looking a bit bleak. I contacted Yes Loans for a quote to consolodate a couple of credit cards and a an existing loan.
They congratulated me and confirmed my application had been successful and then they tried to sell me a payday loan for £300 at over 1000% APR!!!!! I kept telling the guy that I was not interested and he kept going and going, I eventually got a little shirty with him and told him NO NOT INTERESTED, he then transferred me to his senior loan manager to confirm my details who then put me through to his colleague, a seperate company it turned out called MoneyWorries. I was a little confused as to what was going on and asked why I had been passed to a debt consolidation company as I was not having any problems making my repayments but wanted to re-finance and save on some interest, she put the phone down.
I have spent approx 8 hours in the last 2 days trying to get through to yes loans to get my £69.50 back and to instruct them to remove any of my details from the system.
I've also been bombarded with emails / texts and phone calls from Payday UK who I feel are almost harrassing me and I'm veru concerned that they too have all of my personal information without my concent.
How can the FSA allow this company to operate?
Con artists, damn right disgrace and should be stopped!
What a disgrace this company is, i applied for a loan on a website, 2o mins later I was being called by a company I believed to be the company I approached, when I asked if this was carloans4u they told me it was one of their subsidary firms, only when I get the paper work for Yes loans do I relaise they have lied to me copmpletly and got me to hand over the £69 admin charge, How can this be legal?I must have spent over 3 hours now waiting for customer services to pick up..I want my money back!!!!!
yes loans have treated me like every elsethey take £69 out of your bank then you dont hear anything else because you cannot get through speak to anybody i am fuming.

im normally very careful but i felt like i was getting nowhere and maybe got a bit desperate!!!
we had a form come from them which stated we wanted to take it out over a 3 years period, and we needed a guarantor,we wasnt told this when we asked for the loan,so we phoned them. When we finally got someone on the phone after that,it was a girl, who went on to tell to us that it wasnt them we took the loan out with, they passed our details to a third party company without us knowing and now we have to deal with them, this company isnt to be trusted, they take your money and thats it,and their after care service is non existent, and if they dont like what your saying they simply hang up on you.... need reporting to the FSA and trading standards.
i called them this evening when i got home from work and was please when the guy told me i had been accepted although a bit surprised that he said i had been accepted by two companies and i was going to get a short term loan from payday uk.
now without even thinking about it i have paid a £69.50 brokers fee and have commited myself to a £300 loan for which i will need to pay back £375.
if this goes the same way as all these other comments, this is going to ruin me. what should i do? should i wait it out and hope for the best or should i try to cancel this £69.50 fee and see if there is anyway i can cancel this £300 loan?
the £300 is due to go into my bank tomorrow.
please tell me someone has had a good experience with this company. if they are doing this to people then how can they get away with it. surely it is illegal?
