Car Craft - Enfield
Avoid at all costs. Spent a whole day there, with a five year old - the sales guy was actually fine and not pushy, very polite and took the trouble to find me something within my budget, but he clearly didn’t have the authority to agree a deal on final cost with finance option and hence was back and forth to a "manager" to get information - its a real joke, wastes loads of time and the process the company choose to adopt, in order to sell cars, encourages confusion. Equally it provides Car Craft the ability to blame any confusion on the sales guys. We were miss sold finance and that resulted in us walking out after, demanding deposit back (which shouldn't have be taken till finance all agreed anyway) initially told 10%APR then would be 6.8%APR as I had a good credit rating and when we went to collect the car, told it would have be on 2 loans, that rang alarm bells, we asked about the APR and was then told one was at 19.5% APR the other at 12%APR- with a £175 application fee and the cash back of £250 that had been agreed was added to the bill instead of being subtracted. Wasted a whole day - furious and to make matters worse, when I was asking for my deposit back, a Manager felt the need to harass me over what had been said to me, then told me the sales guy will be dismissed. I feel they set the sales guys up to take the flack if it goes belly up. There is collusion between those involved in selling and managing the final deal. It was very clear to me that it is the way the company choose to sell cars - not being up front, sending the sales guy back and forth just causes confusion. Not impressed and certainly not stepping foot in Car craft again and will ensure everyone I know don't either. If anyone from Car Craft reads this then just give your customers a fixed agreed price, then talk about how the customer wants to finance it. When offering the finance option be upfront about the APR and any handling fee and do not offer cash back, then add it to the bill or you will get more disgruntled people like me writing poor reviews about your company.
i went to car craft in september to look for a cheap car on finance.so i looked around for a small car. so i clearly stated to him i am on benifits so i can only pay £100.00 per month, no problem he said so he showed me a nice little o7 plate corsa life, how much would that be a month i said, he said, £150.00 no more ok i said so i sold my old fiat punto n reg car to them for £175.00 so we went from there, he sat me down and asked me alot of questions and one of them was what was your last job so i told him and he went and done the searching for a finance company who would take me on, anyway 3 hours later he come back and said congratulations you can have the car so i was happy coz now i can get my 6 year old son to school in a reliable car for only £100.00 per month, so i signed all the paper work and they bought the car out the front for me and he said paper work will be in the post in the next few days, so i said thats fine no problem, 1 week later i got all the paper work through and i was horrified to see i was paying nearly treble the amount they said, yes treble the amount, £350.00 a month yes £350.00 a month, i read the agreement to find he has put down i am working and earning £1200.00 a month. i dont know what to do know as i am only on benifits and cannot afford to pay all this money, i am worried as i have 2 kids and a ill partner to look after. i went back and told the bloke who dealt with it and he said, dont worrie mate you will be able to afford it just work your money out and you will see. and then he said keep it on the quiet i got you finance coz i told them you work i got you a good deal dont worrie. please if anyoneone can help please message me and tell me what i can do coz now i am worring sick for my family as i know i cant afford it and i aint told my wife as she is sick and dont want to stress her anymore than she already is. :(
called by them to ask if i had had my car serviced as it was due to have one done and did i want them to do it for me with a free pick up and deliver service thrown in. Ask the amount it would be and was told the amount and that id be sent an invoice back with the car. As im disabled i thought this would be ideal so booked the service and was told the car would be picked up at 9am so 9am on the agreed date arrives and no car pick , finally at 10am an unshaven guy wearing jeans and jumper arrives with a piece of paper saying hes from car craft , i mention hes an hour late and he looks at his piece of paper and says "i been busy", so off to a good start.
Two hours later i get a call to inform me that my back indicator bulbs are "peeling" and going white and they are illegal and as a result need changing (looked fine to me as the guy unlocked it in my garage and reversed out)i mention i hadnt noticed they had begun to change colour and was told i wouldnt notice it when im driving , kinda obvious i guess though hes a bit flustered when i tell him i dont drive the car myself with me being disabled and i see the back lights on a regular occasion, they also inform me my antifreeze is low and needs sorting or my aircon wont work and for that they want £25 but i say ill sort it myself thanks all the same., they also discover my pollen filters need changing.
One hour later im called again to say my car is ready and do i want to pay by card now or cash on delivery ! huh what ? i mention about being told id be invoiced and he says car craft dont do that and never have and i wouldnt have been told that under any circumstances and if i dont pay by card now or by cash to the delivery guy then i wont get my car back. Now i havnt got that kind of cash on me as i was expecting to be sent an invoice and i hate paying by card over the phone to basically god knows who so I ask to speak to the department that books cars in so i can sort it out and complain and he then asks who i booked it in with as they dont arrange services ? huh what? so after going over and over it all again i dont get anywhere and ask for a general complaint department only to listen to him go on again about the bill i have to ask 4 times to get the number which i ring only to find its not a complaints department its just a general number to get to them on which also just happens to be an 0870 number. So after not pressing buttons 1 through to 5 twice i wait in a queue to "speak to somebody else" , i go through the whole process and complaint only to be told exactly the same again , they dont send invoices out never have and i must be wrong , they also go to great lengths to inform me that no garage sends out invoices. I am asked to hold while she looks into it and after 2 or 3 mins on hold im asked for my number so i can be called back by this time id had enough of them and i wasnt going to wait in for however long it was going to take them to look into to it and needed the car back so i agreed to pay by card over the phone seeing as i had little choice in the matter and polity asked for my details to be removed from their database as i didnt want anything further to do with them only to be told the complaint would be looked into and they would get back to me
