I saw these guys at a trade fair yesterday and I walked away with serious concerns.
If these websites are so profitable, yet take little or no effort to run - why are they selling them to people? They could be making more money buy running a series of them themselves.
It therefore stands to reason that it's perhaps more profitable to sell them to people, rather than selling the actual products.
They'll even take care of the SEO for you, leaving you to do the "marketing". I was unable to get a clear idea from them as to what the "marketing" would entail.
They'll also happily set up any number of the same website. When I questioned them on this, I was told "there are 6 million buyers in the UK alone, that's a huge market". Right. 60 million people queing up to buy my sunglasses... When pushes they said they would limit an excessive number of the same store, but didn't give a figure.
Whilst I may be completely wrong, the impression I got is that they are luring people in with an offer of "low investment, high returns, no effort, runs itself". They'll then make them a template based website with a nice range of products, and an e-commerce system - but will it ever make any money?
In the words of another attendee of the show, are this company after franchisees, or franchise fees?
