They are a registered limited company so you should be able to get the addresses of their directors from www.companies-house.gov.uk (for a fee). On the companies house website their status is "Active - proposal to strike off".
These people take your money and do nothing.
They claim to have a database of prospective buyers for your caravan. With no website and no advertising, how do purchasers who are on the"database"find them in the first place?.They have £199 of mine and won't refund it under the "cooling off" period, despite emails and phone calls over a period of 10 weeks. I issued a court order on them but their York address is where the company is registered.(I did a postcode search and spoke to another company in the same building) No-one in that building has ever heard of them. So beware of Match a Motor. They only want your money and will come up with some amazing excuses as to why your money has not been returned. Avoid at all costs.
I had my caravan advertised on a reputable website. After 3 days I was contacted by Match a Motor,(they must have read my advert on line) and said they had a database of customers waiting to buy my type of van and for £199 would introduce prospective buyers. I agreed and paid, but then changed my mind and called them back on their 0870 number for a refund under the cooling off period mentioned during the initial call.10 weeks, 39 emails and countless phone calls resulted in no refund and the most feeble excuses I have ever heard. They probably have caller I D on their phone,as when I call them they either don't answer or just hang up. So I issued a court order on them to pay up, but the court representitve went the address in York only to find no-one actually works there. It is just an office where the company is registered. I used a postcode search and phoned a company in the same building. They had never heard of Match a Motor As they never advertise or have a website, how do they get a database of people wanting to buy motorhomes/caravans etc? There is no way that I know of as to how to trace the location of an 0870 number, so they could be anywhere in the UK and remain annonymous. If you are contacted by a very plausable salesman (Bill Johnson?) just hang up. This company should be closed down. Total con artists!!!! PS. I never got my money back.
I have had a very similar experience to "frapper" who wrote about his car not being sold and his fee not returned as promised. In my case they promised they had as many as 3 prospective buyers for my campervan, took a returnable deposit of £200 if the van was not sold. No introductions were made, the van was not sold and they have not returned my £200. Have reported them to Trading Standards Meanwhile, take the advice of "Frapper" and do not deal with this outfit!
