Have always purchased Breville products especially their toasters as they seemed to be the only manufacturer with products that toasted evenly. Last model but one, barely lasted the guarantee period, so exchanged for another Breville toaster at the shop. The new toaster took so long to toast that you could set when you go to bed and the toast may be ready by breakfast time!
Emailed Breville customer service thinking a good company would be interested but NO - still waiting on a reply to an email.
Have now replaced with a toaster from another manufacturer and will never purchase Breville again.
Professional advice to Breville, Pulse Home Products Ltd, if you are thinking of evaluating cost base overheads - sack your customer service department, they lose you loyal customers.
I purcased a Breville aqua fountain a few years ago. It failed to operate, just outside of the product guarantee period. The fan ceased to operate and heated water was delivered instead of chilled! I did not consider replacing it as I tend to be a 'once bitten twice shy' sort of person, but was talked into trying again by my better half who argued that Breville was a good and trustworthy company. Now, once again, the product has failed a second time and yet again a matter of months outside the guarantee period. That is a lot of money for filtered and chilled water and does not represent either good value OR confidence in this companies product range. I have just written to them to explain the situation and to express my disappointment. I believe a measure of a company is how they are able to respond to a situation such as this. Will they admit there is an issue and that this particular product has not fullfilled its purpose or will they blag it and hide behind their contracts? We shall see. I will post a result on here, though reading through previous answers I have a feeling the company keep an eye on the site and respond in the disguise of ordinary posters (anne?)
The non-stick plate on our sandwich toaster bubbled.
It's under warranty and we can just take it back. But hey, the plates are removable. Why return the whole device. Many companies would just send us a new pair of plates and be done with.
Some would sell them, but at leat have a no hassle online purchase system.
But Breville. No, we have to send a cheque in the post. So we might as well just return thew whole thing.
What a waste.
