I normally get billed monthly and pay by dd. A few months ago my bank account was accessed not by me and I needed to reset all the dds as the m oney had been taken.
Contacted bt and they said it was in my interest to go three montly billing, still pay monthly be dd but one bill quaterly, that way could split the owing dd month by three and catch up. Once sorted could go back to monthly billing and dd monthly it wanted to, fair enough.
That was before the dreaded bt call centre for billing in india OMG......... is all I could say in despair as it was obvious they had not got a clue!!!!!!
I had to say please cancel the quaterly bill and instead issue monthly bill, same way as last time they cancelled monthly bill in uk, and reset quaterly bill that told me new dd amount. Polite woman but she kept asking me for 96.00 as said I owed it. I had to tell her that would take me to april inclusive and that when bill re issued i would only need to pay a third of that as you see the dd would not drop below 74.50 for some reason whereas the true cost of my usage was 45.00 at the most.
So a monthly bill would automatically only request what needed to pay for and drop the dd below the amount they said they could not change for a reason they did not know !!!!!!
She said she understood resetting the bill would not need the amount of 96.00 paid and again apologised, but then in same breath said how would you like to pay 96.00 then? AAAAAARRRRGGGHHH........
So I polite was starting to feel like biting my fingers off due to the language barrier and not wanting to be anything other than polite, chose to put the phone down and go the operator to put me through to a uk contact for cancelling services.
I said please help and I will not feel the need to leave. Told them my issue and was told they had no idea what the india problem was but it was a simple issue easily done, which they did. They also added I was not the first to raise issues with them not knowing what they were doing, my words.
BT bring the call centres back to the UK PLEASE, as if I have to go through the operator to just talk sense i will go elsewhere instead to firm who confirms they use uk call centres, you see no offense but india does not understand english and I guess I am not the first to have banged her head on the wooden table trying to just sort a simple issue. thanks.
