Carcraft are just dodgy. They ‘advertise’ 120 point check but it’s not available to the customer. They lied about filling the car with petrol for me to get home, but they didn’t. After sales are nonexistent, the manager still hasn’t replied to my letter.
I bought a car from Carcraft - Lakeside on Sunday and it turned itself off twice on the way home from Carcraft within 40 mins. Both times I was left stranded for sometime and highly distressed. The following morning it would not turn itself on, eventually it did but I did not drive it and haven’t since. I did not expect a £5000 car to do this at all. The following day I called and wrote to Carcraft telling them I was rejecting the car as it was not fit for purpose. I am waiting to hear something official from them.
In addition to all that they have included a whole bunch of things in my finance which they clearly knew I did not need, as I had the money to buy the car. I said I’d comeback the following day with all the money to buy the car and that I also need to sort out resident parking permit and such like. But I was pressurised into putting a deposit and the rest on finance, otherwise I was told the car wouldn’t be available tomorrow at that price. Also, they added products without telling me about them. I was told I would have all the copies of what I signed but I don’t. They misled me the interest rate, saying a lower value but putting a greater value down. They were supposed to call me back on Monday to discuss this but they haven’t. I was only made of the paperwork and finance details after they took a deposit for £3500 having been told it will cost £70 per month it now stands at over twice this amount.
In the meantime, I’ve contacted Kelly Ambrose, Senior Fair Trading Officer at Rochdale Trading Standards, Consumer Direct and Watchdog.
Bought car. 2 weeks later its back in with them with broken Turbo and Inter-cooler. 22days later its fixed!! to add insult to injury SATNAV HAS GONE in when I got it back. IT'S GONE!. Truly unbelievable. They refuse to take responsibility so all I can do is inform as many people as possible so it doesn't happen again.
