argos

having saved up for a while to get the iPad2 smart cover and the protection plan I found myself having to use the plan as i had liquid split onto my iPad it was easy enough to call Argos and get it picked up for repair with a 5 day turn around given so I thought ok not bad 5 days turned into 2,1/2 weeks with me having to send a letter explaining that it was a drink split on it (I had already explained all this over the phone) after a few calls letters later I then received my iPad back with a cover note saying what had been replaced LCD,back cover, battery, and dock connector and passed quality inspection all sounds well .... however the back cover is plastic (apple use metal glass combo )and poorly copied writing starts in capitals then goes into lower case some is arched some is ascending it has a fake imei number and even the model number is wrong fake serial number too.. LCD is dim compared to my friends iPad (we brought same day same place) dock connector (cheap copy)
called up to complain and got told to re-book it in for repair with the same company erm no I asked who the company was and they said it is there repair company i called apple directly and that company IS NOT AUTHORISED to repair iPads or any other apple products I now have to wait for my complaint to be looked over which will take another 5days then I have to wait for a decision why should I wait I have spent a lot of money for something I don't want to use because now it feels like a cheap knock off very disappoint in Argos now think any further purchases i will look around other places

I have been very dissapointed with Argos .. I find their after sales support rude .. I had a bad experience @ the Colliers Wood branch - the manager there is I think Matt ?? ; he was particulary vulgar

I wish I had researched on-line reviews on their customer service levels prior to my purchase

also it is impossible to get through to the custmer services line to lodge a complaint

I will avoid buying from them in the future . .such vile rudeness

Right things happen okay, but I am starting to wonder if argos are aware of their shoddy customer service being radiated from phone to shop floor. Us as customers are normally pretty easy going, it is the way treat when something which can be easily remedied that makes the difference.

Called into argos a couple of days ago to buy a brabantia bin. They are not cheap and as argos were the cheapest I gave them a go.

Product arrived down the belt with the top of the box clearly opened, the man 'wayne' said it was due to the product had probably been looked at previously but not to worry all would be there. I asked him to seal the box with some tape to make it easier to get home and he did so with normal cellotape.

Got my taxi home and have to use them as epileptic cannot drive so well aware I have to pay such fees to get anywhere but nevermind and normally not an issue. However took the cellotape off and low and behold the lid of the bin and the freebie bags were missing along with the bin having no plastic covering the new product and finger marks all over it.

Tried to ring them and after a long wait gave up and got another taxi to the store. So so far it was just one of those things, it was the attitude that made the difference.

Went to customer services told her who looked rather mistrustingly at me and said it was open when you received it and I confirmed that she could check everything with wayne that he had sealed the box but not checked inside.

I also requested after hearing there was not another one in stock for my taxis to be refunded, I knew I had this right due to some months ago another product, this time sealed box having bits missing and they were happy to pay it for me. This woman was disgusted at the suggestion and I replied I knew I had the right to ask and wouldnt if at least I was going home with a replacement, but as it was my money and time had been wasted.

She spoke to the manager who said we will refund you one way, to which I was now politely laughing as it was an inconvinience of two directions not just one. She then said the receipt was for only one way and I said well that is because I am still here and not gone home yet and last time they happily just doubled the cost to which you could actually see her grinding her teeth with frustration at me.

She proceded to on the receipt add x2 in a different pen obviuosly to that signed of the taxi and refunded me.

She then said it wasnt argos fault but that of the supplier that the lid was missing and I had to add I didnt believe that as wayne had said it was probably looked at and I added I have two other brabantia bins one in bedroom one in toilet and I know how they come packed. Rather well actually bin body in large plastic bag and inside freebies of bags along with normally a lid inside another large bag then all plopped together and well sealed. She took offence at this and said normally when product opened by them a tape is put on the broken seal to show checked all there, but I added I know of cases where tape has been there and bits still missing but in any case it didnt matter. But no she wouldnt leave it there and again said the supplier was responsible not argos to which I replied I dont think they would appreciate hearing you saying such when the box would not have left their warehouse opened and your own staff were happy to let me to have to request for it to be sealed after it had obvoulsy been handled due to finger prints all over it( I suspected someone had took it home, changed their mind and the lid maybe went walkies in the warehous, but a guess anyhow that I kept to myself)

So she didnt like it and in my view it didnt really matter, but she did show a contempt of the customer knowing a little of how argos do send products out either sealed or not with bits missing in cases.

I mean I am one person, bought loads and loads of stuff from argos and on at least a handfull of occassions have had to return to store to get it replaced, not fun but happens, so they should sometimes use the old the customer is always right even if they disagree personally. I am not interested in her personal feelings it doesnt matter to me, I just wanted my money back and cost of taxi which I to be fair then got in full.

Argos must sell millions of products, but please unless you are dealing with a rude out of order customer, keep your opinions to yourself, sometimes the customer is right its just common sence.

One thing I will say I was wrong on was their voucher offer. Normally you get 10.00 for 100.00 spent and can cleverly spend the voucher on another purchase straight away which I do. This time the advert on telly clearly said 20.00 for 100.00 which encouraged me in but I wasnt happy at having to spend one voucher in august and one in september. I can see why they have done it thinking you will spend more and visit again, but to me who doensnt often go out I felt it a little misleading. They did kindly refer me to the small print, so small due to my eyesite I couldnt even read it. However on the advert how is someone like me to see that also. I would think it more fair to say something verbally on the tv add like, argos would like to see more of you, therefore you dont just get 10.00 for 100.00 as normal, we will give you 10.00 for september as well.
Would still sound good and encourage people in, but we would know where we stand.

Argos head office if read this are welcome to email me to find out what store I was refering to.

xx

argos store rugeley in staffordshire store number 831 are liers and deny you have comsumer rights.
glo the jellewery team leader said i am not intitiled to merchent tile use from my tv that only 18 months old they will not do anything .
The comsumer rights states i am intillaled to reasonable use which is 5 to 6 years on a tv
it has been coming on with no picture just sound since it was new but then soon worked properly i thought the leads just needed pushing in .then when it was 12 months old it would not come on for hours so i phoned argos it was 2 weeks over 12 months old they were not willing to do anything we managed to get it back on .but now at 18 months it has no picture only sound permenantly argos will do nothing .
They are denying i have consumor rights. They denied i called up about it when it was 12 months old.
i am having an independant report done which will show its faulty and argos are responsable because they sold it to me they have a duty of care ,i am intitalled to a replacement that works!! or my money back.Argos have no customer care i would never buy anything from them again they had lied and i am informing the trading standards and comsumor rights ive had enough this is the 3rd tv i have bought from argos which has broken down in 3 years, they should not be allowed to lie to customers.
i just want a tv that works.

I have bought many things from Argos over the years but now have really changed my view about them. I ordered a fire to keep warm in the coming winter. this was a couple of months ago. needless to say it didn't work. they were prompt in collection and said i would be refunded.

I am STILL WAITING to be refunded. every-time you call you just get a standard " please wait seven days" please wait another seven days" etc etc then told "your refund failed for some reason please wait another seven days" in the mean time I am freezing cold, which is making me ill due to my health and got no where asking to speak to a manager as they say in robotic voice "please wait seven days" i hope they are nice and warm in their office.

just one question for Argos..... how come when you want payment you can take it off my card the same day but not return it as quick or when you want your monthly statement paid could i say please wait another seven days?

all i want is some heating to get warm but cannot until they sorted out the refund as they said i couldn't order another heater until then unless i paid for it again which i cannot afford to do. i hope i don't spend Christmas day freezing.

ARGOS HOPE YOUR PROUD!

Dont use argos!

I ordered a sofa & pool table on 7 day delivery in september, only to be told it was going to be another 3 weeks. At first i thought this was bad but decided to grit and bear it as long as i had it before xmas. After 6 weeks, the pool table arrived damaged and they refused to refund as not in original packaging (its 7ft tall and had to be assembled first) still hadnt heard anything about the sofa so decided to ring only to be told would be another week, i never heard anything!

I have a 2 year old and couldnt bear it without the sofa, i was getting told that it was going to arrive so need to to buy a new one ( even though i had to in the end. There response was disgusted and no one cared about leaving a family in the house without a sofa and told me to wait for a refund as sofa was 'due in stock'. They even guarenteed it twice. We are now in January, i cancelled my order nearly a month ago and am still waiting for a refund. My pool table is still damaged and cant be used and yet they keep on telling me they will ring with a delivery date but never have.

Ive phoned argos at least 25 if not more times in the last 4 month asking about my order and still havnt got anything sorted, have spoke to managers and they promised a refund plus a 'condolance' nothing of which has arrived!!.

Im definately taking this further!
