Thank you Colin O I will certainly take this into consideration and continue to play them at their own game....we have insisted they take us to court but as yet they have not!!! Will keep you posted.........
Charley232, forget all the stuff you get from this outfit I had the misfortune of dealing with these people and in the end I won as they had nothing on me whatsoever as I never agreed to anything and they even had the audacity to tell me they had it all on tape and they were going to take me court, so told them I would see them there and low and behold nothing happened, stick it out they will soon give up.....
My partner became self employed in 2004 and was approached by PFA Media in the early part of 2005..the only way they could have got the number was through yell.com as at the time this is the only place it was listed!!
They gave him the speel about being there for the emergency services and asked him if he was interested? He told them that I dealt with anything like that and they agreed to send out information. We never received anything until about 6 months later when we received an invoice for £230, when we didn't know what it was for we called the company and spoke to a lovely person who told us "to not worry, as there had been some sort of mistake!" and she then told us that "...our names and numbers would be removed from their database!!" So we left it at that. 2 and 1/2 years later we received another invoice that had now gone up to £500 and this was from CCS telling us that they had "proof" that we agreed to this advert!! I asked for this proof and was told that I would have to pay £75 for it!! They then went on to play me a tape of my partner supposedly agreeing to the advert, but what I heard was a mish mash of sentances put together! When I told them fine take us to court for the money we heard nothing for about a year and then received yet ANOTHER! invoice from CCS but this time for £670!! and the same threatening information on it so I went to CAB and they advised me to write to CCS requesting proof and keep any documentation for reference. I did that and sent the letter recorded delivery which they signed for!! and I heard NOTHING back!! We have since received yet another CCS threatening letter and have written again, but are now waiting for them to go to court because we can fight our corner!! One thing that must be said is the figure outstanding is constantly changing up OR down!! Our last invoice was for £660!!??!!
So my recommendation would be KEEP WELL AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE BAD BAD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!
