Comments:

I started using this company on a monthly basis and in April I subscribed to a 12 month membership as I had experenced no problems. However, since the beginning of October I have not been able to use their service as when I log in they request that I purchase more credits. The button that should say 'Search' only says 'Buy'.
I have sent emails to them with no response. I have sent a recorded letter to the address identified on their web site. This has been recorded as being signed for and delivered but again no response. I then searched the registration details of their web site and obtained another London adress and also discovered it to be a UK Partnership. I sent a recorded letter to this 2nd address and again received no response. I am now considering taking them to the Small Claims Court.

Just got e-mail back from Onlinesearches and they are refunding my payments in full. Have been told they are having trouble receiving e-mails. As matter is now resolved I am reviewing my Blagger rating.

I signed up for a month subscription searching by names, and addresses and paid a total of £6.30. However, I have found the information to be about 2 years out-of-date. I did a test search on a friend and found they were on the electoral roll for a property that was sold 2 years ago. I thought this company was linked to the official Electoral Roll and I would have quality information, but I have been badly disappointed. 192 is much more up-to-date. I have tried to get a refund from this company and have e-mailed them quoting my Worldpay references but to date my emails have been ignored. I sent two e-mails on the 8 September and one on the 14 September. This Company quote that they endeavour to reply to e-mails within 24 hours. What a Joke! This Company is a complete waste of money! DON'T USE!

I signed up on the 22/7/10 for a year access. After a month, I got a message, "Sorry, your account has expired", even though I paid for a year.

I checked back on the emails, and only realised then that the subscription account stated it expires on 21/8/2010. Only a month after I paid for the subscription, even though I paid for a year.
I tried emailing them 3 times, but no response.

I also tried phoning them, but got a response stating that all the operators are busy. This was no matter what option. First, pressed 2 for technical support, got automated message. Presses 1 for sales. Got automated message. Third time, didn't press any buttons at all to see what happens. Still got automated message.

I used this site a few years ago, and found it good. Needed to use the site again, but now, they are terrible.

Now I know how bad it is, pity I didn't know before hand.

All I want is a refund or restore my subscription like you have with carriepotter, or else I will be doing what he suggested he would have done.

Have had a response today from Onlinesearches about the comment I left on this forum. I have now received notification of a full refund. Matter now settled and for that I have revised the rating. I will not be able to confirm the service aspect of course hereafter but hope that it is back to normal levels that the consumer would expect.

Not happy within the hour after signing up. Wish I had done a search about them first! Sent an e-mail straight away to helpine@... that has rec'd no replies since the first e-mail sent on 18/8/10 same day as purchase asking for a refund. If you have paid by card recently contact your card provider and they can start a claim back for not providing the promised service - giving it a go anyway - worth a try!

Resolved.

My access has been restored on presentation of my proof of purchase.

Sugest the company continues in this vein.

Will change to a 0 rating if my access remains uninterrupted.

My experience has cost the company £44.75 as we paid for a year long subscription. We received one month, we now see "Sorry, your account has expired" when we attempt to log in. I have emailed the company several times, I have also left several messages with their helpline, which I note informs me that my call is important. Interesting interpretation of important, there. Today I've reported the company to Trading Standards and will be contacting the Federation of Small Businesses, of which I am member. We work in the legal industry so I'll be sitting down with my solicitor later in the week to discuss the issue. I see a representative of the company responds to some of the messages on here. I invite him to respond to me. I would be very interested to hear what version of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 that he thinks his company adheres to, and how this allows them to be in breach of the contract they entered into when they debited money from my account. I await a response, though will find it somewhat ironic if it comes via this website and not through their own contact methods.

Don't use these people. I searched for a person on their electoral roll that was clearly shown on 192.com electoral search(but the full details would have cost more to obtain) so stupidly I went with this company. Their search completely failed to find the person and I complained on 6th January to their online helpdesk sending a copy of the 192.com search. No reply. Called their contact number and got their 'all their operatives busy' message.Would like my money back.
