needed to find a engine and a few other parts for my honda civic 2005 model, i was finding it a nightmare trying to get my hands on these parts after trying a few different company which messed me around i went online and got the number for foreign car spares, i called up on the monday and spoke to one of the member of staff asking if they had the parts available, they called my back offering the parts with a 3months warranty, i took a chance and waited 3 days, after reading some of the reviews on this site i crossed my fingers and hoped for the best, the items came on time and after my local garage fitted them to my car there was no problems , i would use this company again

AVOID!! DO NOT USE!!
Ordered part from them through 1st choice parts. When delivered, the part appeared to be defective and not fit for use, would not pass an MOT if fitted to my car.
After immediately contacting them and emailing pictures to prove that the item is clearly defective was told that no refund or replacement will be given anyway. Very rude on the phone as well.

Avoid at all costs. Easily amongst the worst service i've received. I was told the item I ordered would arrive in 2/3 days. 14 days of daily phone calls, constant excuses and much frustration later and still no item or refund. They have simply not got a clue as to what good customer service is.

Surprised to see the negative comments - my experience is the opposite: the right parts (Corolla wheels), good condition, reasonable price, and next-day delivery. On that basis I'll be happy to deal with them again any time - my MR2 is sure to need bits sooner or later, and I'll try these people first.

I got this company from 1st Choice, and as i was deperate for the parts, and they were offering the best deal, I decided to go ahead with ordering the parts. I telephoned at the weekend, and spoke to a young man giving details of what i actually wanted, and was assured that my requested items would be delivered within 2 to 3 days. On the monday, I got home from work to find a message on my answer machine, saying my credit card no. was wrong and could i call them back, (a wasted day) I called back but was told it was out of hours and to call back next day, (another wasted day). I called back, and gave the correct details AGAIN, but when asked my address by the company, they had the WRONG ADDRESS and WRONG POSTCODE, AGAIN!!!!!!! this was sorted out, and delivery promised within next 2 days. BUT!!!!!!!! again on getting home from work, low and behold, another message on my answerphone, (another wasted day) as I could not phone again until next day. They wanted to know the colour sequence of the rear lights that i had ordered, (why was this question NOT asked when ordering), anyway all the information was passed on. Believe it or NOT, the very next day my order was delivered, and it was great to have the parts to put my car back to normal. I must say the parts were all correct, BUT the wing mirror had damage on it, (but is perfectly ok to use), and the rear lights were of the correct colour sequence, so I was very pleased with what I had ordered, In all, I am very satisfied with this company, and will definately use them again, and would reccommend them, BUT saying this, I would Not put up with them wasting so much of my time, by not having a phone no. that can not be contacted outside of working hours, surely they could have an answerphone, or get someone to accept 'out of hours'calls. remembering their customers have to work too, and do not want to waste so much time between calls.
Overall, I would definately use this company again, and reccommend it, BUT let me down once, and I would do everything in my power to show you exactly what a decent and honest customer can actually do.

Has this sight been infiltrated by Foreign Car Spares? The last three positive reviews appear phoney .
Anyway here is a genuine opinion - DREADFUL company, they sent me wrong parts then refused to take them back. I complained through 1st Choice Spares (who have backed me up all the way). They agreed to take them back but with a restocking charge and expected me to pay postage! Again 1st Choice told them off. Eventually I got most of my money back. Throughout ordeal they lied and twisted things. I am trying to leave negative feedback with 1st Choice as they give out a star system but no luck yet so emailed them. God help those future customers!

on Monday i made an enquiry on 247 spares for a Toyota Supra engine received a call immediately, telling me they had an engine in stock. after placing the order was told it would take 4-5 days to receive as it will be sent on a pallet. Engine very clean and at a reasonable price. Overall very good service will defiently do business with again.

Having requested on a sunday quotes via 247 for a toyota front grill, fcs supplied a quote within 2 hours. I phoned fcs on the tuesday with my details - they were very helpful on the call -and the part was delivered thursday morning. Great service - thank you fcs. BK 12/10/10

Ordered part via 247 spares.
Like fool I paid with debit card. Part did not arrive as promised. Tel call to find out why, was told it was damaged. Did not know when a replacement would be available, so I requested a refund 5-7-10. this was agreed. As of 20-8-10 I am still waiting. You never get to speak to the same person. They never keep to any promise made. in fact they are useless and should not be allowed to trade. Been to small claims court and they just laughed. Wish I had found this site earlier!!

 wullieb at 20th Aug 2010, 10:28AM
Well where to start with this lot .
First off when they tell you the part will arrive on such an such a day , it wont !!
They lie on the phone , they send the wrong parts .
I.E.
I purchased a brake Servo from them . I'm self employed and stayed in all day .
I ordered it on the thursday , and was told monday or tuesday arrival .
So being a bank holiday monday l knew it wouldnt come and stayed in all day tuesday .
No sign of it .
I phoned UKMail who they use , and they told me they hadnt recieved it yet .
So l phoned foreigncarspares and boy did they spin a yarn .
Firstly it was my fault for not reminding the employee it was a bank holiday monday .
Then they tried to say it had been sent , but when l asked for the consignment no it miracuously didnt appear .
Then when finally the package did arrive , it wasnt a brake servo for a nissan vanette , it was a servo for a nissan serena , which even had the name of the vehicle on the servo .
If you do use them , and return goods to them , make sure u get a receipt of the delivery driver as they will deny they got it .

I ordered a crank position sensor for a 1997 Toyota Avensis (AF-7E engine) and received one for a VVTi engine which Toyota used on the Mk 1 Avensis from 2000-2003. I retunred it for a refund and i'm still waiting. I too have involved Trading Standards (BBC Watchdog next!) and i'll see what happens, maybe i should contact the VAT and Inland Revenue also! Avoid them like the plague. Just a thought but the one good comment about them might just be from FCS themselves?

 hondacbf at 18th Mar 2010, 03:08PM
Well what I can say about foreign car spares, Is they are a life savers
It was bank holiday and I had come from Preston to Birmingham to see family , only to realise that when I had got here my car was overheating, I was very anxious as I had to get back to work for the Wednesday evening, my Pajero 2.8td was smoking.

So I looked up on yell for a jap car breaker in Birmingham and came up with FCS eventually after being let down elsewhere. So I called them on the bank holiday and they where open, with very easy directions to follow I managed to find my way to the workshop.

I was told it would be done within 3 days however they would try their best knowing my circumstances and would give me a ring when the car is ready to be collected.
My phone rang the on Wednesday morning telling me the car was done. I went down to check it out and it was running as smooth as a whistle. I was very pleased with the service and would certainly use and recommend. They also gave it a full service included in the price.
I was not fired from work and my kids got to school on time. Thank you F.C.S

Well done blagger busters, having had a quote from this highly un-recommended site i surly won't be touching it even with the perverbial barge pole. but then again not living too many miles away i might just go down and do a little investigating of my own. John

 rocksy71 at 17th May 2009, 02:58PM
i ordered my part and after a week of not receiving it i called them for them to tell me they needed a part number which i gave them they sent the wrong part(that had no number at all on it)! a courier came to collect it, and 3 weeks have gone and i have not received my money either, but after reading everyone's comments i doubt il see me money again!! im going to get this company shut down bloody ridiculous way to treat people. and they have no manors at all!

 ashcivic at 28th Apr 2009, 12:12AM
It is a shame that I chose to research this companies reputation *after* purchasing a part. I certainly can't fault the company for their proactive nature in contacting me once I submitted an online part search and their speed in delivering the part. However, this was the start of a very long and tiring journey (for me).

The delivered part was incorrect, despite having supplied numerous photos of the required part and all vehicle details. I was overcharged for this incorrect part. Needless to say I was in immediate contact regarding both matters at which point I was introduced to their (in)famous customer care. Over a month later, and countless phone calls (by me) and failed promises (by them), guess what? I still don't have the correct part nor my money back. Even more amusing is that I returned the part (recorded delivery) at my own expense. Now I no longer have the useless part and am out of pocket for both the part and return delivery...a considerable time later.

Thankfully I paid by Visa and so can dispute the payment...maybe I will get my money back that way instead.

I have dealt with numerous breakers in the past and never had any of these problems. I cannot urge anyone enough to avoid this company. Even if it seems a good deal at the time, avoid! Even if it is the only company replying to your request avoid!

There are good breakers yards out there- but this is not one of them.

HOW TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF YOU'VE BEEN WRONGED.
STEP-BY-STEP
1. Lodge a complaint with Birmingham trading standards on 0121 303 6031. (only your local trading standards can ADVISE you BUT Birmingham Trad Stdrds know about fcs and the more logged complaints at Birmingham, the bigger theyll hit em.
2. Contact your LOCAL Trading Stdrds office to report, fcs and they'll also advise you HOW TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK (Sale of Goods Act Etc).
3. CONTACT THE WEBSITE that sent fcs your details (i.e. your parts request site 24/7.com or 1stchoice.co.uk or breakeryard.com etc).
Tell them that fcs, the supplier they recommended to you is sub-standard and explain why.
Ask them to stop recommending BAD suppliers or they'll end up on Blagger.com too for refering unscrupulous companies. Remember to tell them they'll likely get GOOD blagger.com feedback if they strike off the baddies. (Refer them to Blagger.com for a complete dossier on fcs).

IF WE ALL DO THIS,
1. fcs HAVE NOBODY FEEDING THEM VALUABLE PARTS REQUEST LEADS
2. TRADING STANDARDS HIT THEM FROM THE OTHER SIDE.
3. WE GET OUR MONEY BACK AND SOME JUSTICE

foreign car spares!! Avoid this company at all costs. Like many others I have ended up contacting Trading Standards regarding the appalling lack of customer services and blatant disregard of Distance Selling requirements. Two faulty/damaged items and no refund.
Just because an item is sold 'Second Hand', the consumer still has the same rights. Don't be fobbed off.
Complete lack of communication and appalling service which I believe will end up in court action to resolve. You've been warned, a company doesn't get this much bad press for no reason

 wakas at 23rd Jan 2009, 01:48PM
THERES NO REASONING WITH THESE PEOPLE.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Im a large wholesale importer of Jap vehicles and had the misfortune of dealing from this company last year. I ordered a fascia that surrounds a car radio. I discussed in great detail with dave my exact requirement - a stereo surround to fit in the dash - not a dashboard. He fully understood. You guessed it he sent me a WHOLE dashboard EXCLUDING my said radio fascia. Incredibly the dashboard was in dire condition had even been hand painted RED around the vents and was unuseable - even if i had wanted one!
I called and dave said arrogantly that I had ordered a dashboard and I'd got what Id asked for! After much reasoning he suggested I pay to post the whole dashboard back and he'd "see what he could do".
I felt unconvinced and palmed off. I explained that it would cost a furtune and he'd never sell it to anyone else because of its awful condition - I offered to email pics. I just wanted my fascia ASAP for a waiting customer.
He didn't want to know. He just wanted to wriggle out of it. I don't believe he ever had the fascia in the first place.
I didnt risk losing a further £50 on postage for nothing. I swore Id never deal with such a cowboy again. And my 35 Jap dealers dont either now. I made sure of that.

Recently I submitted a breaker search for a steering wheel through 1st Choice Spares. Unbeknown to me foreign car spares are on their books and responded by calling me offering a steering wheel. I didnt realise it was them and ordered 9am agreeing next day delivery. Days passed by. I rang the number at 3pm friday to track my order and to my horror it was foreign car spares. As I suspected the person who deals with tracking had left til monday. I explained my customer was collecting the car the following day hence agreeing only to next day delivery earlier in the week. I asked for a refund since I needed to source one elsewhere by the next day - guess what?! - suddenly accounts had also just left for the weekend...
I still dont have my steering wheel...just excuses.
I doubt i'll ever see it - or my £65...
But ill make them pay this time...watch this space.
