what do i do now
Reference customer Mather: There are always two sides to a story so I thought in the interest of given your readers a balanced view I would respond as I am that manager in question. The customer cancelled her order under the terms and conditions laid out by trading standards, and was entiltled to a full refund. However, the cheque was not banked as per her request.
It is fair to say that as we have been in business since 1966 we are not financially dependant on Mrs Mathers deposit and the reason she decided to cancel was down to affordablity and not quality. It is unfortunate that she found it necessary to leave a negative comment about us when we did nothing wrong. Shame really.
We had a quote for a kitchen with some appliances with the condition there was a 7 day cooling off period should we change our mind.I gave a cheque for the deposit.
We did indeed decide to cancel and when we went to the showroom I spoke to the manager on the phone. He said he had the cheque in his pocket and would post it back.Im still waiting for it.Luckily I cancelled the cheque with the bank.
"I have just had a Betta Living Kitchen fitted and cannot be more happy with the quality of service and quality of product and would gladly recommend the company to any one."

Which one of these statements is true? You dont know and have no way of knowing which makes a farce of the sites which could be so helpfull if the messages could be trusted.
Someone who has left a company and now works for a competitor is likly to write negative comments to help sales in their current job. Always try to read between the lines. I have seen it reported that some companies ask their sales team to go on these sites and write nice things.
Good tip about Bettaliving. Say no to the first sales man. Say no to subsequent phone calls untill they ring you from the "trade department". They will tell you that they can sell you exactly what you had designed but at a much reduced price. Its up to you if you want to do business like that but my reaction having worked for this outfit would be a resounding no!
DO NOT WORK OR BUY OFF THIS COMPANY. I am an experienced sales manager. After working for this company for 6 weeks I would urge anyone thinking of using this firm to go somewhere else. The Sales director does not care about his employees or his customers and charges as much as possible for his chinese chipboard. Do not buy on the night and see what reaction you get.....you have been warned.
I was approached in my local supermarket by Betta Living in September and the Reps I spoke to were very helpful and informative. I had been looking into having a bespoke fitted kitchen and had been quoted by several DIY and high street companies and also by Space Kitchens, I found them all to be pushy and overbearing. I reluctantly agreed to have a betta living designer visit my home in Coventry to design my kitchen and do a costing.
The designer arrived on the date arranged and bang on time, his name was Anthony Webster, he had a shaved head but was dressed smartly, looked a little like a debtcollector lol, I fully expected him to be intimidating, however thankfully I never judge a book by its cover.
He was a perfect gentleman, I gave him a bit of a hard time to begin with because of my previous experiences with other kitchen companies. He was very understanding, very patient and very proffessional. He made my wife and myself feel very at ease and put no pressure on us at all. He took the time to design the kitchen for us and although me and Julie kept changing our minds on the layout and the door choice he was very empathetic to our needs. The price he gave us was very fair and we decided to order a Kitchen on the night. Before he left he went through every detail with us again and reassured us on every point we made and answered every question. He left us with his business card, his mobile number, his home phone number and his e-mail address, and told us that if we had any questions we could contact him at any time and he would be willing to advise us should we need any help. He called us on the day of hte Survey visit to make sure the surveyor was there on time, he called us on the delivery day to make sure the kitchen was deliverd on time and as advertised, and he called us on completion day to make sure we were happy with everything. Our kitchen was installed withing 4 weeks and looks beautiful, I would recommend Betta Living to anybody. It has been a very refreshing experience to deal with somebody so proffessional and honest.
I have since passed on his number to three of my friends and relatives and am happy to report that they have received the same high standard of service as I have from the same designer. I am planning on inviting Anthony and his family to our home for dinner next week as a thank you for taking such good care of us and restoring our faith in proffessional callers.
I was looking for a new kitchen and went to Betta Living, they did our bedrooms (Betta Bedrooms) a couple of years ago. The ward robes are great. We have just had a kitchen off them and its really good, there were a couple of problems when the fitter was here, but they did get sorted. Looks like some people have had a bad experience but i would recommend them.
Sales man comes out first and starts with the line " I am not a salesman" so you know what you are dealing with straight away. One of his other lies was "we do not deal with flatpacks". Bottom line was we paid 4k for a kitchen and got delivered a load of flatpacks!!! They sent somebody around to put them together in the end so no harm done I suppose but I would not trust them with your cash I am afraid. Merchandise is of a decent standard but is it worth the hassle at the end of the day?
So unprofessional. service sucks and especially when speaking to the managers, who couldn't careless.. they never return your call when you leave a message, even if you chase and chase.
so many faults with the work, the installation manager couldn't careless when we asked him to attach the mirror at eye level, he did it so it reaches my waist, expecting me to sit on the floor practically when I look in the mirror. use multilines instead, much more worth your money! this company is probably going to close down as they are severely facing cashflow problems. you don't want to get stuck with having paid yet no results.
This company are a bunch of cowboys make no mistake about it. Set up my agreement back in March and not until early November was the work complete(still not to a great standard) Dont get me wrong, the product is ok, Its just the contract fitters they get to do the work(Honestly if i had a months training as a kitchen fitter I could have done as good a job)
I went with this company as a result of being able to find no negative comments about them whatsoever so i haven't beaten myself up too much about my choice.
I had a list of 20 faults which include worktop not being secured down, marks on worktop, cupboards not lined up properly to name a few.The list was endless. They did correct much of this but if you want compensation forget it, they fob you off saying only when all work is complete can it happen, best advice is steer clear and save your cash please people
had an awesome kitchen from them, even though 4 weeks sounds long its well worth it. fitters worked really hard and the attention to detail really showed by the end. would recommend them to anyone looking for a new kitchen.
i used them because my parents did and i didnt know if i was going to be able to afford a made to order kitchen but now i cant believe it, now its in, well worth every penny, and my friends think its cost me an arm and a leg, and my girlfriend has started to cook more which is awesome.
The Product is great but the Service is Disgusting. They Expect you to take out their finance even if you don’t want it as they wont offer you a reduced price without it! They say it will cost no interest if paid up within 4 months but there's a £75 set up fee they failed to mention so it costs you more. They say they will refund the £75 but im still waiting. We have the kitchen all boxed up here but it hasn’t been fitted! We were promised it by 11th December due to Christmas & im looking at a shell of a kitchen as i write. NO Communication at all, I have chased them over & over & still they do not get back to me. The regional Manager Patrick O' Brien is infuriating & patronising. He doesn’t listen when you speak and talks over you. He Makes you feel like you are inconveniencing him! He Said he has a “mate” who will come & fit the kitchen for us as they don’t have any fitters available until next year. I gasped at how unprofessional He is/they are but we reluctantly agreed as the company Betta living put the money into your bank account to pay the fitter only if you are happy when they have finished. This Mate, Name unknown! was supposed to come Monday 17th and now he wont be here until Weds 19th so we are scared he is going to rush the job to be finished before Christmas Day! I will keep you posted on the outcome. Karen
