Ok here it goes. If you are getting a £10,000 kitchen for £3,000 then surely you have to expect one or two faults. I ordered a kitchen and yes i had the odd hinge missing, however i did check EVERYTHING upon delivery, and a few items were swapped on the spot (one tap, a wicker basket set, and a HL door). I have dealt with them a few times, and admittedly once i had to go to oldham to get the bits, but this was as i needed it in the week and not the 21day turn-around time they had said it would talk them (i got a call after 21days asking if i had got all my bits or did they need to deliver anything). So i give this advice:
1)Worktops i would buy yourself-I did-Unless you are getting granite then rocksolid are very very cheap
2)The under sink systems are not great buy a repalcement-they are not very expensive
3)upon delivery, as suggested by rocksolid-CHECK EVERYTHING, they always say you do not have to pay until you have done so.
4)Realise you are saving thousands and you need to expect a bit of running around!!!
If you want a hassel free transaction and do not want any kind of headache no matter how small=solution spend 10k!
The kitchen i got from this company was very cheap, certainly the cheapest price i could get. The quality was excellent and was certainly well above what i would expect for that price, i wouldnt say that i would reccomend them to perfectionists, but certainly to anyone who fancies saving a few thousand pounds
the after service this company provides if terrible, it took me over a week to contact the delivery people, they never rang you back, were rude and unhelpful. when it was delivered the man was friendly, but it was only one man, i had to unload the van with him. there were a number of things wrong with the kitchen, including wrong tap, apparently they sent you the tap they have available at the time, i got a victorian tap to go with a modern kitchen, wronge size units, things missing. on phoning the number for customer services a recording told me they could only be contacted via fax or e mail, i emailed them with no reply, i spoke to customer services (the number on their web site)and was spoken to in a very rude and unhelpfull manner, in all i e mailed them 4 times and faxed the boss of the company whos number is on the back of the delivery form, i contacted the number on the web page again, after 5 days of hearing nothing to be told they would contact me when they were ready, she hung up while i was in mid sentence, i rang back and was told by sam, that customer services have 21 days the answer faxes and e mails, the boss just doesnt bother to answer.
when the other customer services? contacted me they were helpful (neil) although i have to wait upto 21 days for delivery of the things that were wrong. having said all that the sales team are very polite and helpfull
This company should not be allowed to trade, I guess if you order a kitchen and arrange it to be fitted by the company or someone instructed on behalf of them, it may be different. I didn't, I can fit them myself. If they turn up and fit together that is?
I ordered in Feb 2008, so over a year ago my kitchen is still not complete. Missing items, sub standards sink, handles, hinges, taps, dishwasher, cooker, hob you name it. The only good thing are the doors they are solid wood and tough, not all the same colour though! Oh yes that's the wooden ones for some reason I got delivered a mixture of wood and MDF.
So I'm a reasonable man, I gave them a chance to rectify the problems, the customer service needs a boot where the sun don't shine! They are the worst thing I have ever had the displeasure to deal with, ignorant they are! It's changed now though, you can't talk to them on the phone they don't allow this as part of the customer service anymore, it's emails, letter and faxes only (the fax number doesn't exsist either) They don't reply to emails or letters, what next smoke signals, this company threat their customer like Sh@t! They really do! Don't be taken in by any good reports even the worst player in the world has a good result once in a blue moon.
Stick with what and who you know and someone that is answerable if things go wrong.
Cos they will if you deal with these rouges and it's pontless getting trading standards involved they can't touch them, you end up in court win your case and they don't pay out. Consumer rights my fat ar@s.
