It is safe to say this is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Ordered table and chairs in May 2011 and by the end of july they were still unable to give any indication of when the item would be delieverd, therefore we cancelled the order and were advised the money would be refunded within 30 days. The money was not refunded and the company ignored all our correspondance. Thankfully we had paid by credit card so were able to recover the money from the credit card company. I must also comment that this was ongoing during September after the date the post below states they have new management!

well we purchased a desk for about £400 back in may of this year and we were promised delivery by the end of june, well after numerous emails and phone calls, and endless promises we got fed up of waiting and asked for our money back, we didn't even get a confirmation email, we then rang several more times and spoke to people who knew nothing about company policy until one young lad said it would take 30 days to refund!!!
well we were not having that so we rang our bank and as we had bought it on credit card they refunded us and they will no doubt go straight to this company and take the money without asking.
i wish i would have read this site before, a mistake i will not make again
my advice avoid this company

Daryl, You can't hide the bad comments about solid oak warehouse by posting your post twice you know. There are clearly some very unhappy customers out there so I would urge anyone who is considering buying oak furniture from solidoakwarehouse to do a few Google searches online and they can then unearth the true facts and then make their own minds up before purchasing. I've seen no evidence to suggest that anything has changed. Avoid..

Solid Oak Warehouse are commited to giving our customers the best quality in oak furniture products. This is why we source the materials and manufacture the furinture ourselves. Not only does this allow us to produce quality products but it enables us to pass the savings back to you. This ensures that you have excellent quality furniture at the lowest cost.

The furniture is manufactured in China using the finest materials, much of which is bespoke at the request of our customers needs. Much of the stock is made to order just like when you buy a settee from DFS for example, therefore we advise to allow us 3-8 weeks for orders or 10-12 weeks for bespoke items.

We distribute all of our furniture from our warehouse and showroom in Ilkeston (another reason why we keep the cost down for you through low overheads) which we invite and welcome all of our customers to come and visit to see the quality of our products 1st hand. Please see the address below for details.

In the event that you do have any problems with your product which can happen every so often through shipping and transit we take every course of action to ensure our customers remain satisfied and still have the perfect product they desired. We recommend that all customers inspect their goods upon delivery (our helpful drivers will gladly assist and wait whist you do this) however should you find any defects after this customers then have 7 days to inform us of any defects.

As the Sales and Customer Services Manager I take personal interest in all of our customers needs so if you have any queries or problems please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

I will endeveour to rectify and resolve any customer queries issues in a timely manner.

If you do a search around on Google you will find a long list of people that are not happy with the service and quality of the furniture offered by solid oak warehouse. The tables are cracked as there is still lots of moisture in the oak when its made into furniture and the cracks will only get worse over time in a warm and dry centrally heated home. Hardly a sign of a good quality manufacturer as all the wood should be kiln dried properly. The leather chairs that they offer are also a very poor quality with plastic looking leather and hardly any padding. They also give you the impression that the furniture is made in Europe or even in the UK! Wrong, its made in China. If you have a problem with your order or want a refund then expect a long wait! AVOID www.solidoakwarehouse.co.uk !! If you are buying online you always need to do your research and make sure that the company you are dealing with has come credible customer feedback.. I've struggled to find any positive comments about this company other than those written by the company themselves!

They also appear to have setup a new website at www.solidoakland.co.uk but dont be fooled as they are the same company!

Keep away from this company. Their customer service is very poor. They don't return phone calls and make promises via email that they don't keep. There seems to be a big turnover of staff as you can't get through to the same person from month to month. They sold me a table and chairs last christmas. It was a nightmare arranging delivery. When goods were delivered the chairs didn't conform to fire safety legistlation and had to be recalled. We are still waiting for the replacement 1 year later. Please don't make the same mistake that I did by buying from this company.

yes solid oak warehouse is an extremely bad company, they dont always have their products in stock. So quite often they sell them even though they are out of stock. Very poor customer service and a very unfair returns policy, this is a company that clearly cares more about their profits that customer service or customer satisfaction.

They seem to change their staff every couple of weeks so they never know whats going on. They obviously have a problem looking after staff too!

I had to wait months and months for my dinning set, and when i requested a refund it also took months to sort out.

We thought it is time to drop a line to reassure our customers on the services and products we offer.

We deliver all over the country over 600 items of furniture per week and we are extremely proud that we are able to offer amazingly quick delivery on over 90% of our items and as mentioned "…. excellent designs and outstanding quality". We are very proud that we are able to continue to do this in difficult trading times and manage to offer fantastic products at massively reduced prices.

We are truly sorry when individual customers have problems with our dining chairs as we deliver more than hundreds of chairs per week, on occasions we do have rare instances of delay from our chair supplier. We do apologize for all the inconvenience that we brought you about the delay.

Sometimes customers receive damaged items it is our responsibility to try and offer a replacement product if circumstances deem this practical for all parties. However on occasions certain circumstances dictate that to avoid further problems for all parties we will offer a full refund instead. These occasions are rare but we can assure you are for the correct reasons to avoid further risk of problems when they are foreseen. However we do occasionally get it wrong, like you we are human. In turn we are constantly in correspondence to improve the service we offer.

Finally we would like to reassure all that all our solid oak furniture is 100% brand new when you receive it, every piece of our furniture meets high standard quality controls from all of our manufacturer, we have spent years trying to perfect ground breaking quality controls on this type of furniture.

Supplied 2, two legged chairs as part of my order. Almost impossible to contact by phone and when you do the result is zero. 2 letters and three months later and the whole fiasco is in the hands of trading standards. Avoid at all costs.
