Comments:

After reading this 'blagger' I felt the need to comment on the rather humorous situation at hand and show my support for the Patric James store.

My father is a good customer of Patric James and has been for many years. Its great to have store so local that can provide good quality clothing and such a wide variety of great, high class brands under one roof. My father isn't a fan of shopping (strangely enough!) and so its perfect that on a weekend we can nip up to N20 and get what we need.

I agree that some of the items in store are highly priced. However, the quality and the price of the designer items he stocks are nothing to do with Patric James, but are specific to the designer you pick. The prices of the items he stocks are the same at any retailer.

I accept that sometimes it can be frustrating to have somebody assisting you when looking for an item of clothing. Saying that, its wonderful to have a store manager who is so willing to help, and will give their undivided attention to getting you exactly what you need. My father and I have never ever experienced any sort of pressure in store, however, after all, Patric James is a shop and along with offering great customer service, their aim is to sell.

What I find shocking that a grown man cannot express that they would like some time to look around themselves. What kind of an adult is so easily persuaded into buying shirt they don't want. I feel that this purchase was more an impulse buy that the customer felt bad about and subsequently blamed the store. Peer pressure is for teenagers. Learning to politely say no is all that is neccesary.

The staff at Patric James have always helped us in finding what we need, offered me a discount for continued loyalty, given me free gifts on occasion, ran items out of the store for me to save me parking up, and offered for me to take items home to show the recipient prior to paying. Patric James also remembers my father's size, style and purchases so that all I need to do at birthdays and christmas' is call him up and he will have exactly what I need waiting for me.

I know a lot of people who shop at Patric James and will continue to do so. Its convenient, full of the latest stock, and the customer service, exchange policy and willingness to help is always wonderful.

As for the initial complaint, all I have to say is 'there's always one.' I hope that the two of you can reconcile your differences. Difficult customers are part and parcel or owning such a successful retail store.

Good on ya patrick!!

And for anyone who thinks i work for the company check out my previous blaggs, Ihave been a member for years!!.

Its great to see a company such as yours do well and defend yourself, consumers are now starting to abuse the internet to spout out rubbish beucase they know face to face to or in real life there petty arguments are worthless. Consumers dont realize the harm these stupid comments could do, i am all for consumer rights but its just gone to far, and causes honest companies to suffer for the the top requirements of consumers!

To patrick you response was well thought out and its very obvious to anyone reading that the orignal blag was a load of rubbish! i hope to visit one of your stores soon.

To too stupid consumers, do not bite the hand that feeds you, in these tough times you might find yourself loosing a job becuase some idiots have posted untrue rubbish about the company you work for causing you to loose sales and then your jobs!!

The fact that you squirm around writing rubbish on websites such as the one you sent only goes to prove my point.
I have to say in 25 years I have never told anyone not to come back to my store but with you or anyone like you I will gladly make exception.
My manager was nothing but courtious and pleasent towards you for the half hour he was serving you and I completely defend the way he served you and question the "pushy" comment you made taking into account
you were the one insisting on trying on a white £120 shirt under a plain V neck sweater to see how it looked??????????. Forget the fact that someone else will have to buy and wear the shirt which you had on for 15 minutes but you did not consider anyone else while you were in or store did you? or did you think to stop your children from running around the shop like headless chickens, while you were there.
I suggest your friends or those you consider friends are tired of your constant moaning anyway and if anything going round telling everyone of your experience is actually doing me a favour, so thank you for the publicity.
With regards to my business going down the pan we just opened a 1000 square feet store part in Cockfosters (where you are also not welcome) and we will continue to expand because as my regular customers will tell you we offer a fantastic customer service and always put the customer first refunding or exchanging without question.
The shirt in question was an Eton shirt who have been making shirts since 1928 I think they proved themselves as we sell hundreds a season and for you to use the quality of the shirt as an excuse was simply a smoke screen.
You treated my manager like dirt and I will not tolerate that kind of behaviour but obviously you do not mind setting such an example to your children who you say were offended by my behaviour? I suggest judging by the way your children behave any leasons you have on human interaction should begin at home.
Do not come to any of my stores again.

Patric James
