I have found a solution that stops this company ever contacting you again. Business Debt Recovery, which sends out the £400 demand does not date their letter so "payment within 7 days" is illogical. They also use 2 different postcodes. Millenium Media - according to Companies House website MM is listed as "company dissolved" and with Advertising Protection Agency Ledger of Monitoring Firms MM is listed among others as with "accusations of alleged unfair and dishonest trading practices". I also made a counter claim against them

Last year I was contacted out of the blue by this compnay re placing ad in a Fire Service mag. I received a bill for £400 but, despite repeated requests , never recieved a copy of this alleged publication.
I have today received a notice of impending county court judgement to claim this money. I do not want a ccj against me and hope someone has some advice on how I might proceed.

Update: This company appears to have ceased to be a problem since sending them a letter.
So too have New Look Media who, after discussion about the combined hassle from all the companies, very kindly removed us from their books and sent a letter confirming it.

A mmember of our staff was recently talked into placing an ad in a fire service publication. The name of the originating company was not noted but we have since received an invoice from ESM Multimedia which slipped through the net and a cheque was issued. In the following few days we received invoices for varying amounts from Millenium Media, Imperial Media, New Look Media and Weinstein Williamms Associates. Needless to say, the cheque has been stopped and I am working on a game plan to stop them and, hopefully affect their operation.
Millenium Media sent a proof which consisted of the first page of our website.
Millenium Media is the only one bearing the correct name of the person who eroniously agreed to an ad.
From what I've seen so far this appears to be fraud. All the companies appear to be based in Liverpool.
I would welcome the details of any other connected companies which fellow blagger.com users may have.

This company is relentless...over 50 calls, 20 letters many quite nasty. I didn't agree to any advertising, just asked them to email details (which they don't do ) a media company that don't do emails??? odd to say the least. But the invoices keep coming and a debt collection department who probably sit at the next desk keep ringing. I can only think that I will get sick of the calls and pay...they will give up before me..I think we all work hard enough for our living to give any money to these parasites.
