I do not understand how they are able to take the money from your account for NOTHING, I mean what do they actually do and who gives them permission to take this money. There was £100 pounds in my account of which they took all of it! My partner and I (whom are both only 21) are now left with no money, and no food. I would like to take this further as it is a real hassle. We only recieve more money within another week. How does debtline propose we eat until then?

DO NOT USE DEBTLINE!!!

We do not even recall registering for this debtline mess yet we are constantly bombarded with calls and now this.

I do not know what to do next. I have gone to the bank and they are looking into it further for us, but seriously... what now??

5 -7 working days is just not going to be ideal. I am from another country with no family and new to this town so not many friends to count on. How do they think I am supposed to live for the next week.

I hope somebody from debtline reads this and while they are warm in bed with full stomaches, think of us. Thanks to you we won't be feeling that way for a while.

Lucky you. They owe me £215 taken from my account without authorisation. They are saying they have to find the recorded call that says I cancelled, if they can't find it then I can't have a refund.

I have reported the firm to the FSA and to Bournemouth Police.

This is a letter/email/fax complaint I had sent on 01/12/2008 to a company called Debt Line in Bournemouth, which I have not heard back from them.
I also believe they have something to do with a company called Advantage Loans that feature on this site.....................................
Dear Sir/Madam,

I wish to make a complaint in regards to your company Debt Line, your practices, policy & staff.
On Friday 14/11/08 yourselfs had requested by direct debit the sum of £339 twice to which had left me with no money.
I called Debt Line ,Friday lunch time 14/11/08,on 08000919991 to report this matter & on my first call I was advised that an email would be sent to a manager & I would be contacted,I never was.
I called Debt Line again on Friday,14/11/08 to chase up the call back to which I was advised that the manager was not in the office but the email had been sent & I would be contacted by a manager from the finance dept ,which never happened.
I called Debt Line again on Friday,14/11/08 & had asked if I could speak to this finance manager, which I was told I could not as it was a different dept & there would be nothing that could be done until this finance manager contacted me,which did not happen & left me with no money to cover my direct debits & cheques I had written to which I have now & will be charged for.

I called Debt Line on Saturday,15/11/08 to which I was advised by a female member of staff that there was nothing that can be done till Monday,17/11/08 & that if I had called in the morning I would of been put through to the finance dept.
I then told the female member of staff that I had been advised by a member of staff, I called on Friday,14/11/08 & was told that I could not be put through to the finance dept/manager to which the female member of staff had no answer to my question, could not explain.
I then asked to speak to a manager to which I was advised that there was no manager about, would have to email.

I called Debt Line Monday 17/11/08,in the morning to which I was advised that my ref number had changed to DL 57335 which I would of thought I would of been notified about.
The member of staff that I spoke to was Patrick Burlton ,who out of all your members of staff who I spoke to sounded sympathetic & genuine but when Patrick said he would have to send an email /urgent but I knew that I would not get any response.
I called Debt Line 17/11/08,later in the morning & spoke to a Phillip Law or Low who said that he was dealing with my account/debt.
I explained again to Phillip what was going on or should I say not to which I was advised to get a bank statement.
I explained to Philip that this would take days & that your records should show that Debt Line had taken out £339 twice but Phillip still advised me to get a statement from my bank & fax it or post it.
I had gone into the Halifax branch in Leeds on Friday,14/11/08 to see why I had no money in my account & a print out was given to me of direct debits that was coming out of my account that day,£339 twice to Debt Line, ref 738503 & 747434,these numbers I gave to Phillip but was still advised to fax or post.
Again I had asked to speak to a manager or the manager of the finance dept as Phillip, like most of the staff I have spoke to did not understand that I have had no money for the last four days due to Debt Lines fault & more or less told it could be the end of the week before I could have my money back.
So was advised by Phillip I could not speak to a manager or manager of the finance dept & an email would be sent.
I requested that I wanted £439 to be refunded back into my account,to which the hundred would cover my charges to which Debt Line would cause.
Phillip said he would email this & I would be contacted.
I received a message from Patrick Bulton on my mobile phone to call him back to which I did but because I had spoken to Phillip before there was not much more he could do but only to wait for a call from a manager.
I called Debt Line again,17/11/08 later in the afternoon ,spoke to a member of staff called Jodie & was given the same answers,no help, not able to speak to a manager & would get a call back, this I refused because my mobile had been cut off in the afternoon because I could not pay the bill due Debt Lines error,so Jodie put me on hold, not sure who Jodie spoke to & I would like to know as there has been/was no managers about & an email could only be sent
Jodie came back to me & said that she would call me back before six & will let me know what was going on,Jodie then asked me that she would contact me on my mobile number to which I had to remind Jodie that I had been cut off that afternoon due to the fault of Debt Line & just gave me the impression that no one listens & cares at Debt Line.
Jodie did call back from Debt Line to advise me that I would be refunded but would take up to two to three days, which is not good enough & going by being told that a manager would call me back...what do you think?

So to the point [1]Debt Line has left me without any money & will be for seven days.
[2]I have never had a manager call back, why?
[3]Why can I not speak to a manager or a dept,i.e finance.
[4]Members of staff have told me different things.
[5]I have had to take a days holiday,Monday 17/11/08 to chase this matter up as this would not be possible to do at my place of work,no one has done what I was told that they would do[managers].
[6]Debt line has caused bank charges by taking out £339 twice.
[7]I have not been able to pay my bills .
[8]I have had my mobile phone cut off on 17/11/08 because I could not cover the bill.
[9]Debt Line changed my ref number without telling me,which is possibly the cause to my serious complaint.

I am now asking for a full refund of £539 to my bank account A.S.A.P so I can clear my bank charges & to the way I have been treated by Debt Line & I would no longer trust Debt Line with my finances.

I am looking to be compensated for the days I have been left without money, the amount of time/inconvenience that I will not be able to use my mobile phone,in calls/out calls & a days pay for having to take a days holiday due to no manager call back & lack of trust for Debt Line.
With the bank charges I will claim those off you/Debt Line at the end of the month separately.

Well I hope to hear from you soon with your answers , your offer of compensation , assurance that you are a professional company & look in to this matter.
With the way I have been treated by Debt Line so far I suggest that you remove the care word from your profile & make sure with the packs that you send out make sure you have the correct email address & clear complaints procedure.
