STAYWARM = solar direct = simplee solar .

Are the same dogs with diferent collars,
this people (lee comer director manager along with his partner tom callagham ) the new cowboys of the solar energy, are ripping off people year after year, over charging for sistems worth 1/3 of the money they charge and using local plumbers as their employers, when they are just selfemployed,( some of them are profesional but other not so much) every time they get in deep trouble they decide to change their name so they can keep trading ... but apparently they may be untouchable as they still doing it after being fined £40000 £27000 in 2006 and taken to watchdog on 2008 and being reported one more time in may 2010 in a online newspapper. this people should put out off bussines inmediately , but instead they are getting richer and richer...
ps topo i may wrong but defending this company you can be other than lee comer him shelf. ( same on you...)

PLEASE dont touch this company. I have been caught in July 2009 by them, a salesman calling himself the sales MANAGER sold me a system for £7,500, and after hitting problems with the company, ie not being able to speak to anyone, not able to get info, data or details on the system the were installing, I eventually told them i had lost confidence and wanted to cancell the contract with them. Did they turn nasty - told me to get a lawyer as that was the only way out they would give me, and I should have tried harder to get in contact with them, and anyway what did it matter if I could not speak to them, it had no bearing on the company's products...

Stay away - Doreset Trading standards are aware of them, and they are even refusing to speak to them now after Dorset TS told them they needed to refund my deposit. Northants TS are also aware, as a number of other Trading Standards divisions and Consumer direct.

The fact this awful crowd just keep changing their name when things get a bit hot under the dollar for them means they are still free to work their specific kind of black magic on the public. Watchdog had them highlighted as well.

Use your common sense and dont be like me - a victim of Stay warm limited in Dorset. They are bottom feeders of note.

topo I agree immensely, these so called do gooders could be ex employees or competitors. By the sounds of it Mr Bean has done quite a few strong trades is that because you are no good at any of them or because it makes you sound more important and in fact isn’t true. I strongly disagree with what was said about targeting the older generation. I am on the older side of 35 and I have had a system fitted to my house and I am extremely happy with the professionalism, workmanship, installation and the whole company in general. I think the system should be fitted to EVERY house hold and the savings they quoted me I have achieved. in regards to the cost I paid what I felt was a very good price for a very good product, Yes I could have gone to my local plumber who DON'T specialize in solar and paid less but I strongly believe that I would not have got a system that come close to the quality and efficiency that I have don't listen to a word these clowns I saying as it is 99% fiction and 1% fact. I would always recommend this company to anybody and would strongly suggest they consider solar from Staywarm UK.

here we go again another so called do gooder aptley named mr bean i first cane across this company some 18 months ago when my mother got her self into hot water ( if you forgive the pun ) with a solar company from up north they called at her door and the same evening a so called expert heating engineer called to give her free advise what followed was 4 hours of pressure selling which resulted in my mother signing up for over £11000 of solar pannels and this was from a well known national company. My mother tried to cancel the order just over a week later and was told she was out of her cooling off period calls to various bodies confirmed the same and it was down to my mother to try and get her deposit back, After a few phone calls to various friends in a n attempt to call in a few favours owed i was eventually directed to a company called staywarm in southern england and told to ask them for the best way to get my mums money back (short of me driving to thier HO and extracting it anlong with a few teeth) not only did this so called bad company get all of my mothers deposit back from what must be a competitor of theirs they also had sent to my mum a bunch of flowers not once did they attempt to sell my mum one of thier systems and in case you think my mum ended up with one of thier systems you would be wrong I DID for a lot less than 11k and top quality german evacuated tubes not flat pannels and i must say i am well pleased with the proformance so mr bean pick on some one else or get your facts right

I received a direct mail flyer from Stay Warm Ltd clearly targeted at older folk who may not be as knowledgeable about technology as many.

The flyer made various spurious, unsupportable and factually incorrect statements about why energy is so expensive and how you could protect yourself from (what they call) the many unscrupulous energy businesses in the world (largely foreign, they claimed).

As a Degree qualified engineer and with an interest in world politics and events I knew at least 3 of their claims were blatantly untrue. I am also professional salesman and recognised their sales pitch as that widely used in most of the unscrupulous areas of selling (think old-style life insurance, double glazing, electric scooter sales pitches and you get the drift).

I was so incensed that they appeared to be targeting elderly people and those who may not be as well informed as many that I contacted the Advertising Standards Agency to complain.

I have just been notified that my complaint has been upheld and that Stay Warm Ltd has agreed to amend their literature such that it is less misleading.

I confess I have no confidence in their intent to seriously amend their literature and claims other than tinkering at the edges as companies of this type do not change their spots. It is they that are the true villains of the energy market, not the oil and gas suppliers they vilify in their literature. Companies such as Stay Warm Ltd are typically run by rogues who will always mislead and misrepresent and will work in areas of the market that allow them to get away with what are essentially confidence tricks.

Had a problem with my solar,it was making a rattling noise, i contacted Staywarm and they arranged for a service engineer to visit the next day, which supprised me as i had only reported it to them the day before,The service engineer arrived on time and soon sorted the slight problem out, it was a air lock i was told.
I have to say i was so impressed with the service with Staywarm from first meeting the representive to the service call, i really cannot speak highly enough about Staywarm, i will be recommending them to all my friends.
It is so nice to find a company these days who go out of there way to give not just a great product, but also a great after service.

Very pleased with Staywarm, not just the solar panels but all the staff that I have spoken to and met during the process - thank you!
I received a letter of introduction from them and I gave them a ring. A very helpful lady, who had enough knowledge to answer my initial queries, made an appointment for someone to come out and see me. The chap turned up and explained all about solar, and the evacuated tubes that they recommend. When it came to the price, I had already done quite a bit of research, so was more than happy with the price quoted to me. A technical survey was carried out within the week to make sure my house was appropriate for solar, and the solar panels were fitted within 2 weeks of that! There was no fuss, very little disruption, just a good job done! I have recommended Staywarm to my friends, and I am going to ask them to come back later in the year to talk to me about roof insulation. In my mind, with interest rates so low, it makes far more financial sense to invest my hard earned money in my house. I reduce my household bills and also add value to the house!

I had a letter from staywarm and decided to return the prepaid card, I was contacted by there office and a appointment was made, The representive arrived on the time arranged and explained all about the solar system and did a survey,i was very impressed with his knowledge and decided to place an order, this was followed up by a tecnical survey and a few weeks later the installation took place.I have to say i was more then happy with everything that took place, the system has now been up and running for over 3 months and i can already see the savings, and its so nice to shower knowing that the hot water is free.
The main reason i brought solar was purely for the investment with what i am getting from my savings, the money i am saving fars outweighs the cost.

Again i write about this company who as far as i can see offer several products in the renewable energy field with a superb back up and a first class product could this bad feed back just be jealous remarks from less sucessful people. Makes you wonder

 topo at 15th May 2009, 05:54PM
For a company to still be around today and trading well with 1000s of satisfied customers and one of the biggest stocks of evacuated tubes in the UK i think they is more jealousey than hard facts surrounding this family owned company. Lets get the facts straight before we cast the stone

See Money Saving Expert.com forums for warnings about this company when it was trading as Solar Direct UK and Simplee Solar Limited

Stay Warm Energy is just another name for Solar Direct UK who appeared on BBC's Watchdog programme on 8th December 2008. It is owned by exactly the same parent company, being Simplee Solar Limited. Simplee Solar Limited was fined £40,000 with £27,000 costs at Bournemouth Crown Court in November 2006 for grossly misleading customers about the efficiency of its energy products. After a considerable amount of adverse publicity from disgruntled customers Simplee Solar Limited began trading as Solar Direct UK, but that also acquired an extremely poor reputation, amassing a posse of disgruntled customers and attracting the attention of BBC Watchdog and the Dorset Trading Standards. The result being the demise of Solar Direct UK, only for it to reimurge under the guise of Stay Warm Energy. Customers should not be fooled though! This is the same persons playing the same dirty tricks and cons on the ever gullible general public. It's prices are grossly over-inflated,their products costing many thousands of pounds more than they could be purchased for from a reliable local plumming company. Stay Warm Energy is a direct sales company and nothing more! Its prices are inflated to extreme proprtions to pay massive commissions to its sales force and directors. The true cost of the product installed being less than half the price that Stay Warm Energy will sell it for, even after their considerable discount negotiated during their gruelling sales presentation. Stay Warm Energy deploy exactly the same dirty sales gimmicks as did Solar Direct UK. They will inform you that a marketing manager will visit you to provide a quote! Upon arriving he will claim that his only interest is in taking on your home for marketing or monitoring purposes, and in return he will offer you all sorts of incentives for participating in his trial, including massive commissions for recommending customers. These so called marketing managers also have the gall to portray themselves as some sort of new age financial advisers of the current economic climate, giving examples of poor return on investment from the bank or building society compared to what can only be described as wildly innacurate figures for the return on investment of their products! They are salespersons not financial advisers and their only way of adding any credance to their so-called advise is by grossly manipulatiing the truth! Some of their products can take decades to get a return on investment, yet mircaculously they can still, somehow, make such a product sound like the best financial invstment you could ever possibly make!It would be laughable if it wasn't so sad! The marketing manager is, of course, a commission only sales person earning in the region of £1,000 for every sale. Whatever once-in-a-lifetime gimmick he will be offering you he will be offering to everyone else that he sees! In fact, if you are fortunate enough to escape being sold then you will get a call afterwards whereby you will be offered exactly the same product for consideranly less, and if you still don't part with your hard earned cash you will receive yet another call being offered it for even less. Don't waste your time with these rogues! If you want alternative energy solutions go to a reputable local plumbing company who will give you an honest price from the start, making no false promises and who will break down the actual product cost and the labour cost seperately so that you will be able to see exactly what you are paying for so that you can compare the product cost with others, should you wish, to ensure that you are not getting ripped off! Every item sold by Stay Warm Energy can be purchased by you independantly and installed by a local plumber at a fraction of the cost, so if you are going green to save money then start as you mean to go on! If in doubt as to a company's reputation then contact the local trading standards for the area where the company is based so that you can get some feedback on a company before parting with your hard earned cash! Whatever you decide to do - avoid Stay Warm Energy like the plague!
