Has anyone heard of this way of doing the course at BTSC Chessington? - taken from the btsc website today - There are 3 ways of taking training. The first is ‘Fast-track’ training by taking 8 one-week training Modules, Monday to Friday, over just 10 weeks (with a 2-week break between Modules 4 and 5) to gain the Technical Certificate Level 2 qualification enabling the installation of complete bathrooms. This is followed by a second Fast-track Course of 5 continuous one-week Modules to gain the Level 3 qualification. - I wld like to try it because it is taking roughly a month to do each mod presently. | BT Business | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
I have worked for the BeasT that is known has BT for many years, and now have the favourable knowledge on how to deal with the company and how to get what you want from them. I no longer work for the company but wanted to offer my extensive technical and commercial experience. BT have good people, well mostly, but its the systems and procedures that let them down. Beware of the following sales practices. BT Sales people are targeted on selling the many BT products and services, in the SME space this is done through a chain of Local Business licence holders, these are not BT but independant privat companies who survive on the products and services BT pay commision to. Where to start, well if your a Business wanting new lines, do not be fooled into taking products like featureline, if you need one line for calls and Broadband, then this service gives you PBX type services, but you will need to commit to long term contracts, which in the day and age are not advisable as technology develops, for example, would you commit to paying for a laptop for three years minimum? no, as by the end of year one, the technology is no longer fit for purpose, go for a one year standard contract, be clear on what you want from your communications, and read the detail, it is a known problem that BT will try and get you onto long term contracts, and worse, old technology, which in these days of the internet is not required. There are alternatives. If you need more than one line, then do not gt forced into taking out a PBX, the same issues are seen here, basically you are purchasing a system which is not future proofed, and if you need more features, or tweaks, then you will pay a premium. Also, watch out for expnsive service contracts, they are added to the contract and hidden within your bill, most companies become complacent, as they think its what they need, believe me, you need a fine comb to pull these out. Broadband services are not really dsigned for Business, by that I mean accountability, if you get a problem, then the likelyhood is that you will be reffered to an off shore call centre, who will find it difficult to understand your problem, and worse still resolve you issue. In these days of credit crunch, dig out your bills, go through them and question what you don't understand, there will be hidden charges, for example by not paying by DD. I run my own Hosted PBX Voip service, which outperforms the BT offerings, I should know, I was there a long time. Customers want someone who can articulate and demonstrate what you are getting, explain the features and benefits in business terms, and also want to work with companies that understand your business. Hosted voip performs better and is much more cost effective than standard PBX for the following reasons. Flexibility - You can have any geographic number anywhere in the UK, for example you could have a Manchester number in Brighton, or indeed a Manchester number in Paris, so if you move, there is no issue about taking the number with you. Cost - To set up standard PBX complete with lines, can run into the thousands, capital cost which most business can ill afford, Hosted PBX is minimal up front costs, why, because all the calls are routed to our switch, we have invested in the technology for our Customers to benefit. Reliability - Our switch is in a secure Data Centre, with resilience built in, this is backed up with Business levels of Service, just think about this, what would you do if a power cut, flood, fire, or an earthquake do to your services, how will you be able to operate? with Hosted PBX, it doesnt matter where you are, and businesses now use this as part of there insurance if the worst was to happen. Anyway, if you need help, advice or want to hear more how I can help your Business, please let me know. Oh yeah, and don't get fooled into thinking BT are the only ones, there are plenty of us ex BT people who understand the BeasTs weaknesses, and hence the ability to offer better services. I do so wish I'd checked on this site before placing my order. Oh well, live and learn, I will certainly never, ever use them again. In my case, I ordered four sets of a very attractive looking Autumn/Winter Colour Selection - shown on their website as 6 different plants, a very nice selection with a variety of colour. I wish I could put a photo of what it was supposed to look like here, but the link is http://www.gardeningexpress.co.uk/ProductDetails.asp?ProductID=70053 I ordered back in April and my card was debited at the time. When nothing arrived after some months I raised a "support ticket". The correspondence is shown below; it's self-explanatory really. I wish I could describe my feeling of let-down when their plants arrived; I was just so dreadfully disappointed. From: [myself] Date: 03/11/2008 13:59:22 Subject: 409550334 Message: I was just wondering when I might be able to expect delivery of the above. I appreciate that it is not possible to give an exact date due to variables such as the weather, etc, but would be very grateful if you could confirm if they are out of stock or out of season, and when indeed the best seasonal planting time is. Many thanks. From: Date: 04/11/2008 14:02:56 Subject: RE: 409550334 Message: hi, this is now in stock, and we plan to ship before the weekend. many thanks Chris - Gardening Express From: [myself] Date: 12/11/2008 17:33:56 Subject: 409550334 Message: I have to say I am bitterly disappointed in the plants that arrived today. This order was for an "Autumn & Winter Colour" collection and the picture shows a really attractive selection of plants in a variety of colours. I do not know the names of all the plants I have received as I am not an expert and there was no list with it, but the 6-plant selection appears to be: 1. A dwarf conifer 2. A slightly different dwarf conifer 3. Hebe 4. Osmanthus 5. Green/white Euonymous 6. Yellow/white Euonymous The whole point of the Autumn/Winter selection on your website is that it said it would provide colour during this season. The picture displayed includes pink heather and another red/pink plant. There is a variety of sizes and textures, from the grassy plant at the back to the smaller ones. When I opened the boxes that arrived today, the only colour I could see was green. I am aware that it states "plants may vary" on the description, but I wasn't expecting that only one of the original plants would be in there. Have you no heather even that could have been included? I am also aware that some Euonymous take on a pink tinge at a later stage, but even if one of these did, the whole selection is very dull compared to what I thought was going to be sent. Could you please advise whether you are able to replace any of the plants I have been sent with ones more in keeping with the Autumn/Winter colour selection, or should I return the whole lot to you. From: Date: 13/11/2008 17:53:47 Subject: RE: 409550334 Message: As we are aware we have sent you as per our discriptiopn [sic] please see below. fantastic selection of small evergreens and seasonally attractive plants for the autumn & winter period. Ideal for adding a spot of interest to patio planters, baskets and window boxes. Try under planting with dwarf spring bulbs for extra interest later on. Selection may vary from that pictured, minimum pot size 9cm. Pack of 6 plants. If you would like to send a photo to orders@gardeningexpress.co.uk we will have a look at this for you. Kind regards, Mandy-Gardening Express From: [myself] Date: 14/12/2008 10:02:37 Subject: "Autumn and Winter Colour Collection" Message: I am surprised to have had no response to my email, sent to "Orders" and "Customerservices" on 17 November 2008 attaching a photograph of the selection of plants I was sent. I am assuming you received the email as I was not notified by my ISP of any problems in delivery. I look forward to your comments. *********************** No response received!! I kept the plants because it was too late to return them by this time. I went out to a large local nursery and bought some really beautiful, colourful plants -- what I should have done in the first place, I suppose! Chilli at 5th Jan 2009, 07:45PM |

I will certainly use electrosaver again, after the excellent service me and my family have had. We bought 2 lcd tv's from them, 1 for myself, and my daughter bought a portable lcd. Product was available to take from the store. Their prices are very keen, and i am happy i choose to buy from ElectroSaver. sfalcon at 5th Jan 2009, 05:17PM |

Great company, were really helpful to me over the festive break and went out of their way to ensure my car was ready on time. Def would use this garage again and have recommended it to friends and others at work. Ideal for those who live in the local area. JonathanHooper at 5th Jan 2009, 03:45PM |

What an awful company. I discontinued using them after poor cleaning and service and they never paid the money back they owed which they took from my card without asking. The twice monthly visit took half the time they said it would and they didn't even touch the dining room! Would never use this company again. Mikey5000 at 5th Jan 2009, 03:05PM |

I've never had anything but good service from this small business. Excellent range of sweets and candies, pleasant staff and the only place I know (around here) where you can buy sugar free sweets. Millie at 5th Jan 2009, 02:22PM |
| Urbanpoint Property Management | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Avoid! The freehold of my flat was transferred to this company's parent without us being permitted to buy the freehold, due to a loophole in the law. Urbanpoint caused me and the others in my block huge stress before we eventually got rid of their management via leasehold tribunal, although we still have to pay them ground rent. If you need to get something done, phone, and kepp phoning, as they don't appear to read correspondence, but if you have queries, such as accounting or building works, make sure that you have paper evidence and keep copies of everything. If you're dealing with this company - good luck - you'll need it! julietk at 5th Jan 2009, 01:34PM |
